The next morning.
Blaine looked at his balance and smiled happily.
Another task had been completed.
He could now relax for a few days.
Blaine looked at his handsome reflection in the mirror, smiled narcissistically, slung his backpack over his shoulder, and got ready for a day at school.
At the same time, in a small town in New Mexico...
Four individuals dressed in strange armor and wielding various weapons stood gathered with Thor.
Jane, standing off to the side, stared at the group and the enthusiastic Thor with a confused expression.
"Oh, I never thought I'd see you again, my friends!" Thor exclaimed excitedly as he embraced them one by one.
The four people were none other than the Asgardian warriors: Volstagg, Hogun, Fandral, and Heimdall's sister, Sif—Thor's closest allies from Asgard.
The group was just as excited. It was hard not to be when reuniting with dear friends after a long time apart.
"My friends, I have something to ask of you," Thor said, scratching his head. "My hammer is stuck in a desert. I need your help retrieving it!"
At this point, Thor hadn't fully transformed yet, but he had started developing feelings for Jane. He was beginning to appreciate the life of an ordinary human.
Still, deep down, he longed to reclaim his former strength.
"No problem, Thor. We'll help you," Sif replied confidently, the only woman among them.
"You'll help me?" Thor asked.
"Definitely!"
"Of course!"
"Absolutely!"
Volstagg, Hogun, and Fandral waved their weapons with loud cries, causing many onlookers to back away in fear, mistaking them for lunatics.
"Wait!" Jane called out, alarmed as the group began moving toward the base.
"They have weapons—lots of them! And this isn't just a typical military facility. Other forces are involved. The place is locked down tight. You can't just storm in!"
Ever since Blaine had stolen Mjolnir, S.H.I.E.L.D. had reinforced the base to prevent leaks and public panic. Rather than disband it, they turned it into a fortress.
That's why Thor had been unable to retrieve the hammer during his previous attempt.
However, after Jane's warning, the Asgardian warriors and Sif simply burst out laughing, as if she'd told a joke.
Even Thor chuckled and shook his head.
"I forgot to introduce them. Jane, these are my closest friends from Asgard."
"That big guy is Volstagg. He used to be one of the most powerful warriors in Asgard. But thanks to his love for food and drink, he's now... well, round. Still, even in his current state, he remains an exceptional fighter—a master of the sword, the bow, boxing, horseback riding, and even headbutts."
"This is Hogun. He's stronger and more durable than most Asgardians. His body is far more resistant to damage than a human's, and like Volstagg, he's a skilled fighter and a master of Asgardian weaponry."
"This is Fandral, a self-proclaimed romantic and an unmatched swordsman."
"Together, they are known as the Warriors Three of Asgard."
"And the lady over there is Sif, the younger sister of Heimdall, guardian of the Bifrost. Don't underestimate her. She's stronger than the three of them combined. Her hand-to-hand skills and swordsmanship are among the best in Asgard, second only to the Legendary Valkyries."
"Like all Asgardians, their bones, skin, and muscles are denser than any human's. Each of them is like a Superman compared to mortals."
"I was once stronger than I am now..."
Thor's voice trailed off, tinged with melancholy.
From a mighty prince to an ordinary man—such a fall would break most people. But Thor's mental resilience kept him grounded.
Seeing Jane still stunned by the introductions, Thor gently patted her on the shoulder.
"Jane, you stay here. We'll be back soon."
With that, Thor and his four companions set off toward the S.H.I.E.L.D.-blocked base.
Jane watched them go, sighing with a mix of concern and helplessness.
Except for Thor—now just a normal man—the other four were Asgardian warriors clad in armor and equipped with weapons and shields.
They looked intimidating.
Their presence was immediately noticed by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents at the gate, who quickly informed Nick Fury.
Nick Fury, watching the security footage of four superhuman beings rushing toward the base through wind and sand, frowned deeply.
"Stop them. If they proceed further—take them out."
"Yes, sir."
The order was swiftly relayed.
A group of agents in suits, their weapons concealed beneath their jackets, stepped forward and shouted,
"Stop immediately! Or we will open fire!"
But their warnings were meaningless.
These Asgardian warriors had lived for centuries, fought countless battles, and defeated enemies beyond mortal comprehension.
They weren't about to be intimidated by a few young Earthlings waving guns.
As the group continued their advance, the agents exchanged glances and, without hesitation, drew their weapons and fired.
The bullets clattered harmlessly against the warriors' armor, dropping to the ground with dull thuds.
Volstagg burst into laughter. Despite his bulky appearance, he moved with astonishing speed—leaping several meters and knocking the agents out with just a few punches.
He didn't even need to draw a weapon.
And he was holding back.
If he hadn't, those agents—mere mortals—would've had their skulls crushed and their blood spilled in an instant.
Watching the front-line agents being taken down effortlessly, Nick Fury's expression darkened further.
"Bring out the heavy weapons. No mercy. Don't let them breach the base!"
