Keisha's POV

...

"I should be the one asking that, Caspian!" I thundered, my chest heaving with pent-up rage.

"How dare you talk to the Alpha that way, Keisha?" Cassandra questioned me with a displeased look .

"It's Princess Keisha to you!" I corrected.

She lifted an arrogant brow, "And so?"

"If you don't want me to rearrange your body in the way your mother wouldn't like, get lost!" I barked.

To my dismay, however, she encircled her hands around Caspian's midriff and put on a pitiful look.

It fucking repulsed me, I so wanted to gag.

"Alpha, your sister is bullying me. Have I done anything wrong?" she said to Caspian with a pitiful look.

"Keisha, whatever you want to say to me, wait till tomorrow. For now, I need to retire to bed with my bride." My brother told me.

But I wasn't going to obey. Not tonight.

"Over my dead body, Caspian!" I raged, on the verge of initiating partial transformation.

My brother's eyes glowed a menacing red colour. The atmosphere became suffocating as his fangs materialized.

Before I knew it, he had lifted me by the neck and pinned me to the wall opposite his room.

"And I wouldn't hesitate to send you to reunite with our parents, Keisha. Don't test my patience!" he warned.

Enraged, I initiated partial transformation as well and extricated my neck from his grip.

"If you don't tell me why you picked this slut instead of Jenna, you are going to end up with more than just a black eye!" I growled, teeth clenched.

"Don't you dare call her a slut again,"

"She's a slut. She's spread her legs for so many males in this pack, and you're going to be just one of them."

"Don't slander me, sister-in-law. I'm still a virgin," Cassandra chimed in from where she stood.

"Virgin, my ass!" I snapped, wanting to charge towards her, but Caspian stood in my way.

"You will not harm my bride," he warned.

"She's not worthy of being Luna, brother." I stressed, "Do some proper investigation at least."

"Cassandra is my choice. If you slander her again, I will snap your neck."

I scoffed a mocking laugh, "You think I'm afraid of you just because you have a title attached to your name?"

"Seems I've spoiled you too much." His fingers encircled my neck again.

Though I felt oxygen leaving me at breakneck speed, I didn't want to surrender. Defiantly, I sank my claws into his arm.

The tighter his grip, the deeper my nails impaled him. He eventually let go of me.

He exhaled a deep sigh, "Retire to your chambers, Keisha."

"I will not leave until you tell me the truth. Why did you betray Jenna?"

Caspian turned to face Cassandra who had a worried look, but I bet she was faking it.

"Dear, please go inside and wait for me."

"I'll be waiting, Alpha," she coquettishly responded, even blowing him an air kiss, which Caspian returned. Then, deliberately swinging her hips, she twisted the doorknob and made her way into my brother's bedchamber.

With her out of sight, Caspian ultimately turned to face me.

"Keisha, Jenna is a good girl indeed," he said, his tone softer than before. "But she's not fit to be my Luna. I'm sure the bond between us came to be by mistake."

"You're saying the moon goddess is blind?" I questioned him in disbelief.

He shook his head, "That's not what I'm saying." He exhaled a sigh, "Probably the goddess matched us up when she was drunk."

"Seriously!" I was appalled by his words.

"Look, Keisha, stop opposing me. I've made my choice. Cassandra is a better fit for me."

"In what way does my bestie lose to her? Tell me!"

"Cassandra is taller. Curvier. Prettier. More alluring. Has better fashion sense. Her moans are the best in the world. Why am I even telling you that?"

I gave him a stink eye.

Could those even be counted as valid reasons? I so much wanted to knock all of his teeth out.

"That's not all,"

What more did he want to say about her? I feared my ears would bleed.

"Jenna is a Zelta werewolf, and Cassandra ranks way higher than her as the Gamma's daughter. Also, my Luna's more intelligent than she lets on."

I nodded sagely, "Yeah, she is indeed,"

My brother looked happy when I said that, but his face fell with the other part of the sentence.

"... intelligent enough to snatch others' mates with her only talent— spreading her thighs," I said, spreading my palms sideways for emphasis.

"You..." the speechless brother of mine raised his hand.

"You want to choke me again? Believe me, brother, if you attempt that again, I won't mind the consequences. I'll knock out your fangs and castrate you since that thing between your thighs is where your brain is located."

"That's improper for a princess to say," he barked.

"Forego titles and ceremony. I'm warning you, if anything happens to Jenna, I will tear Cassandra into pieces." I warned, venom unmistakably heavy in my tone.

"You're joking, Keisha. I know you quite well," my brother put his hands behind him, looking rather confident.

I gave him a contrived smile, "We'll see, Alpha Caspian!"

With that, I pivoted and started walking away from him.

"Jenna's a strong girl. She'll be fine in no time. Stop acting like it's the end of the world," he said leisurely behind me.

I curled my fingers into fists as I walked, picking up my pace, fearing that I would really go back and punch him in the face.
