Chapter 2:Camp-Scorpii

The country of 'Venthara' a vast and beautiful country home to humans and demi-humans alike.There were lots of people moving around in a happy joyful mood today.There carriages pulled by horses,giant birds,and even bears.There were food stans,ice cream shops,candy shops,bars,other small shops.

This country had lots of happy people living in it.

"Hey clause-man what's up with these people?"Carter questioned he'd never seen people soo cheerful and happy before he wondered if it was some kind of holiday only they celebrated.

"Oh right you don't remember brother today is the party before the games begin."

"Games?You mean like football?"

"What's football?"

Crap my bad it only makes sense they don't have the same games I do in my world.

"We're preparing for the war games."Olrim replied.

"War games?!"

"Yes brother it's one of the most exiting times of the year."

Year I almost forgot don't these types of isekai stories sometimes have a year that the story takes place in?

"That reminds me exactly what year is it?"

"Jeez you sure lost a lot of memory huh?It's the year 404 brother!"Olrim yelled with excitement as he dashed to grab a quick snack at one of the stans.

The year 404 huh?That's way off from my timeline.Last time I checked in most isekai stories time usually works differently than in a normal world.If I could return home how many years would have past?...

"What the?"

Carter then starts to get dizzy.There was a crowd of people moving around him and he already lost sight of Olrim.

What the hell is this feeling?

My head feels like it's gonna split open!

Carter then starts to lose his balance and just as he is about to fall him bumps into someone.

"Oh sorry."

"It's quite alright."The man said with a smile on his face.

He had long slick black hair,his eyes looked like they had a bright dangerous light in them,he wore a priest outfit that was colored black and gold. ,with a scar on his right eye.

"Are you okey you seem to be feeling under the weather?"The man replied with a smile that felt twisted deep down inside.

Carter then stepped a couple of feet back from the man as if his body was telling him "stay away from him or you'll die."

"I'm alright don't worry yourself mr."Carter replied backing up very slowly inch by inch from the man.

"You seem lost do you require any assistance?"

"Oh no…You see I actually came here with a friend soo I better get back to him actually."

"Oh well.Maybe next time then do come visit."The man said as he took his leave.

Come visit where and why would I come see you after my body reacted to negatively to you.Seriously what the hell is that freak?Cause he sure as hell isn't human.

What could that have been?

Was he like Olrim?No Olrim didn't give off that type of vibe.

He can't be like the beast people?Then again…?

No his presence felt like a bright evil one.

"Brother you've got to try this!"Olrim yelled running back with a plate of dumpling and two mugs of beer.

"Where did you run off to?"

"I had to run to the best shop in town to get the best beer around here brother."

"..."

"Come now we drink now!"

"No thanks Olrim I don't like the taste of alcohol."

"Come now brother if you drink this you'll be sure to regain you're memories for sure!"

This guy dosen't take no for an answer does he?

Carter then takes one of the mugs and begins to take a sip.As soon as he tastes the alcohol on his tongue he immedently spits it out.

Damn it no matter how many people in my generation can drink this stuff to me this'll alway taste like shit.

"Brother!Not the beer!"Olrim yelled as he started wiggling around in a panic.

Seriously what the heck is what this weird guy?

"So umm?could we please go to the camp by chance?"Carter asked.

"But the poor beer!"

Seriously what's with this guy?

After walking for a couple more miles they eventually reached a forest with large trees.

"So is this where you're camp is located?"

"You guessed it brother!"

As the two walked into the forest Carter felt something.It was as if his body just touched something squishy.

Was that some kind of barrier or something?

Olrim then walked a little further and placed his hand on one of the trees.

"I'm back and I got bro this time too!"He said with excitement as if he managed to bring home a trophy.

Just then something opened up from the tree.

It was like a pathway leading to somewhere.

Olrim then grabbed Carter as if he was as light as an egg.

"Woah what are you doing?"

"Relax brother this is going to be fun!"

Olrim then squarted down and began to dash for the pathway.

When they entered It was a stunning cave with gems in it's walls that lit up the room they were currently in.

Water was streaming down cave walls.

Olrim then ran a little further and suddenly stopped.

"What are we there yet this place looks cool enough to be a camp base.I mean It's beautiful."

"No brother the fun part is about to begin to get to our camp."

"What exactly is you're definition of fun?"

Olrim then stomped his feet and it was like he made the whole cave shack.As if it was being hit with a powerful shockwave.

Water stream down even more powerful then before.

"Hey clause what exactly did you do?!"

"You'll see!"

Olrim then spotted a big rock in the ground.

"Pefect."Olrim muttered with sparkles in his eyes.

I don't like the look on this guy's face.He looks like he's about to do something that'll get us injured.I'm not sure how durable you are buddy,but in this world I'm as fragile as an egg!

Olrim then stomped on the ground again as a big 'Bang' could be herad.The rock then sprouted upward as if the ground spat it.

Does this guy have earth powers or something?Wait who cares what the hell his powers are I'm more worried about what he'll do next?!

The rock that Olrim stomped up from the ground which was the size of a skate board was now ready to be used.

Wait hold on I think I know what you're planning but there's gotta be an easier way man!

Olrim then threw Carter off a cliff and the rushed to kick the board of rock.

What the?..

Exactly how many times am I going to die today?

Olrim kicks the board of rock and dashes after.Waiting for the right moment to jump on it.

"Ahh!!!!!!"

Carter was now screaming at the top of his lungs as he continued to fall to his death.

Olrim then landed on the board of rock and flipped down-ward to catch the falling Carter.

He then grabbed Carter and said,"how was that brother pretty cool right?"He said with a grin on his face.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PSYCHO?!!"Carter screamed in anger at the man.

Olrim then kept shifting rock to rock bouncing around on the rock board while still holding Carter in hand.

I think I'm gonna puke?

Olrim then finally smashed his feet into the earth beneath them as they came to a halt.

"WOO!!That was fun wasn't it brother!"

"No it wasn't fun I could have died you know."

"From a height like that you should only have a few scratches."

Is this guy serious?

The people of this world are incredibly powerful.

Which reminds me if I get a busted power I gotta remember to kick this guy's ass.

"Alright brother we should be here now."Olrim said with a bright smile.

"Huh?"

As Carter took a look outside the cave he saw a bright light.

What Carter saw was more than a camp.

It was more of a city than a plain old camp.

Tons of buildings,trains,cars,houses,stores,etc.

"Welcome to Camp-Scorpii brother!"

"This is you're camp?It feels more like a city rather than a camp."

"You haven't seen anything yet brother.But before that we better report to the boss."

"Boss?"

Olrim then started to lead the way while Carter followed still being amazed by the scenery.

There are tons of people living in a place like this?It's like there normal people just like me.I guess if you ignore them being fiction beings I guess they do look like there kinda human.

After walking for a little while longer a ball then hits Carter in the face.

"Oww!Damn it,the hell was that?"

Carter said rubbing his face.

Is this a baseball?

Carter then picked up the ball that looked to be a type of baseball of their world.

It was a white-ball with a trident logo on it.

It was havier than any baseball from Carter's world.

"Hey why is this thing so heavy?"

"It shouldn't be?"

Olrim said as he took the ball from Carter.And then started to spin it on his index finger.

Show off.

"How much does that thing even weigh?"Carter questioned.

"Hmm?..Let's see if I remember correctly.Oh yeah 240 kilometers."

I'm sorry what?

Wait then how did I manege to pick that thing up?

"Mr can we have our ball back please?"A voice called out.

It was a little girl who looked to be about maybe 7.She had short blue hair,sparkling blue eyes,pointy ears,was wearing a sparkling blue dress.

"Oh sure."

Carter then tried to grab the ball still rotating on Olrim's finger.

But this time as soon as he grabbed it,it was too heavy for him and he immediately dropped it.

The hell?Why am I getting the normal reaction I should have gotten earlier from trying to pick it up.And furthermore if this thing hit my face shouldn't I be bleeding and have missing teeth?

Carter then put one hand on his face checking to feel for blood and his used his other hands fingers to check and see if he was missing any teeth.

I don't feel anything?Maybe I have brain-damage and haven't noticed it?

"What's wrong brother aren't you gonna throw it back?"

"Sorry but my hand isn't feeling well right now could you do it?"

Olrim then picked the ball up and then chucked it back at the girl.

"Olrim what the hell?!"

The ball to Carter moved like a speeding bullet so it was too quick for him to track.

The little girl caught it with her bare hands as smoke was coming from her hands.

"Are you ok?"Carter ran over to the girl.

The little girl simply smiled and replied "Yea."

She then gave Carter a sign to put out his hands.

"Huh? What's up?"

Carter then put his hands out and the young girl handed him something.

"Thanks for returning my ball mr!"

The young girl replied as she left.

Carter then saw what the young girl had left him.It was a sticker of a scorpion.

"What's this?"

"Oh that?Think of it as a charm brother."

"A charm?Is a scorpion good luck here or something?"

"You could kinda say that."

"Kinda?"

"Anyway we better get going brother the boss is waiting."

Olrim then continued to guid Carter further to meet the "boss".

Carter was still looking around at the scenery of this camp.

I wonder who this so called "boss" is and I wonder if they can answer my questions on why I'm here?

Carter and Olrim then arrived at a mansion with the gates being designed after scorpion tails.

The mansion was white,multiple windows with looked to be halloween decorations,red carpet,black double doors,crimson flag on the roof-top.

"So this is you're place?"Carter asked feeling like he was in some weird wonderland.

"Yup The boss should be waiting for us inside."

If I remember correctly aren't there supposed to be knights standing by at these types of places.Can they not afford security or something?

"Brother you may want to step back for a second."

"Huh..Uh ok."

Carter then took a step back as Olrim suggested.

The double doors of the mansion suddenly opened.

No one was there.

"..."

"..."

The sound of heavy breathing could be heard from the inside of the mansion.

Carter was curious about the breathing but was too frozen to move.

What's in there?He thought to himself.

He then blanked and in an instant something came flying at Olrim.

"What the?"Carter replied in shock.

At the same time Olrim was sent flying for miles crashing into building after building.

What the hell just happened and what the hell is that thing?

Carter was still frozen in place,his legs shaking in fear.

How exactly do I defend myself up against something that moves that fast and is powerful enough to send Clause dude into a bunch of buildings.

Carter then saw a pebble on the ground and picked it up.

Damn it what the hell's a pebble gonna do to whatever that thing is?

I mean if I'm gonna die let's just get this over with already.

Carter then somehow found the courage to chuck the pebble into the mansion from outside the gates.

The pebble only got to the entrance doorway of the mansion.

Two bright lights then shot past Carter and broke through the gates.

The two lights then landed at the entrance to the mansion doorway.

One of them was Olrim.

The other seemed to be a man in his early 20s.

He had dark black hair,gold eyes,was wearing an orange t-shirt with a black scorpion on it,black jeans,and was holding a spear in hand.

"Come on miss maid that's enough already."The man said.

Wait a minute did he just say maid?

What kind of monster maid does this place have?

I have soo many questions right now.

"Brother you alright?"Olrim asked running over to check up on Carter.

"Yeah just a little…"

Carter then collapsed.

"Oh no brother!!!"
