"It seems that Xiaoxin has already discovered it. Lin Yu gazed at Ye Xin, who was flying farther and farther into the distance, contemplating, Do I follow and stage a 'chance encounter'?
Lin Yu pinched his chin thoughtfully. If he flew up now to pretend to meet Ye Xin, he could easily solve the problem of how to reveal that he, too, was a superpower.
If I let this moment slip by, who knows when another opportunity will come? With
Ye Xin's figure fading into the sky, Lin Yu made his decision. His body flashed, shooting out like a white streak of light.
Ye Xin, soaring through the skies, admired the sprawling city beneath her. Twisting her body in the wind, she felt the rush of freedom.
She flew so high that the bustling city below seemed like nothing more than tiny figures in motion. Occasionally, someone might glance up at the sky, but they would mistake her for nothing more than a bird.
"Hee hee hee..." Ye Xin let out a delighted laugh as the wind whipped around her.
"Huh? What's that?" Her sharp eyes caught a white streak darting across the sky, heading further into the distance. Another superpower?
After all, as someone who had just awakened her abilities today, Ye Xin couldn't be sure if other superpowers existed. But now that she had become one, it didn't seem too strange to think others might have emerged as well.
Driven by curiosity, she pursued the white streak. The speed of the streak was impressive, but not enough to outrun her. After all, Ye Xin had the power of lightning, and lightning travels at the speed of light.
Eager to see who or what this white streak might be, Ye Xin increased her speed, closing the gap quickly. In no time, she was right behind it.
But suddenly, the white streak came to an abrupt halt and vanished into the side of a residential building.
Ye Xin's eyes widened as she saw the flames of a large fire consuming the building. The blaze was fierce, spreading rapidly as firefighters desperately worked to control it with their hoses.
In an instant, the white streak wrapped around the building, and in less than five seconds, everyone inside—those who hadn't yet escaped, as well as the brave firefighters who had risked their lives to rescue the trapped civilians—were all standing unharmed in the open space beside the fire trucks. The fire was completely extinguished, and on the ground in front of the firefighters, large charcoal-written words stood: "You are heroes. Thanks for your hard work."
Without a moment's hesitation, the white streak shot off into the distance once more, eventually stopping atop a building's roof.
Ye Xin followed, and as she approached, she saw the figure standing there—dazed, looking into the horizon.
"Brother Lin Yu?!" she exclaimed in surprise, as the figure became clearer.
"Xiao Xin?!" Lin Yu shouted in equal shock, recognizing her as she descended from the sky.
A moment ago, he had been trying to get Ye Xin's attention. After helping the people in the fire, he had led her here, unknowingly arriving at the same place.
Ye Xin landed gracefully on the roof, standing opposite Lin Yu, her expression filled with surprise. She studied him for a moment but didn't say a word.
Lin Yu did the same, both of them locked in an unspoken exchange.
After three minutes of silence, they spoke simultaneously.
"Are you also a superpower?!"
"Yes, I am." The words echoed in unison.
Both were taken aback, then shared a small laugh.
Ye Xin's eyes gleamed with curiosity. "Brother Lin Yu, what's your ability? Super speed, like the Flash?"
"It's similar," Lin Yu replied, "but I have more than one ability. Super speed is just one of them. I also have the power to fly, telekinesis, and more. What about you?"
"My ability is lightning." Ye Xin said, a small electric arc flickering in her hand. "I was struck by lightning on my way home from school this afternoon, and I think that's how my powers awakened."
"I discovered my powers this morning," Lin Yu explained. They sat down together on the roof, and Lin Yu began to recount his morning thoughts, about how he had come to realize he was a superpower, and how he believed that Ye Xin was too. Afterward, they agreed to keep their abilities a secret for the time being.
"Brother Lin Yu, what do you want to do now that you have superpowers?" Ye Xin asked, gazing thoughtfully at the city below.
"I want to use my abilities to help society," Lin Yu replied, his eyes focused on the distant streets.
"You mean, become a superhero?" **Ye Xin** inquired.
"Something like that," Lin Yu said, his voice growing distant. "Have you heard of Spider-Man? With great power comes great responsibility. We have these extraordinary abilities. Don't you think it would be a shame not to do something meaningful with them?"
"Can I join you?" Ye Xin asked, her voice tinged with excitement. Every young person has dreams of becoming a superhero, and Ye Xin was no different. Having watched superhero series and "My Hero Academia," she found herself more drawn to the idea of using her powers for something greater. Now that she had these abilities, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to live out her dream.
"But you still have to go to school," Lin Yu said, a hint of hesitation in his voice.
"I can do it during holidays or when I'm not in class," Ye Xin said, her tone matter-of-fact.
"Won't your family get worried if your identity gets revealed?" Lin Yu asked.
"I'll cover my face, just like the superheroes in the movies and comics. As long as we're careful, we'll be fine." Ye Xin said, her confidence unwavering.
"Alright, then. I promise," Lin Yu said, smiling. "But you'll continue studying, and when I figure out how to get some costumes and gear, we'll take it from there. And just so we're clear—you have to listen to me on everything. If something happens to you, I'll never be able to explain it to your parents."
"Thank you, Brother Lin Yu!" Ye Xin beamed, her smile bright like a child receiving their favorite toy.
