Chapter 13

Audrey’s POV

Dinner was ready—only the guests were still missing. I was caught in my thoughts when the front door finally clicked open.

Show-off. Drew had used the spare key—obviously just to flex in front of the others.

"Is there something you want to tell us?" Bono raised an eyebrow, eyes darting to the key in Drew’s hand.

"Umm... welcome to my humble abode?" I offered with a sheepish grin.

"Why does he have it?" Bono pressed again.

"Why not? He’s a friend. And my neighbor. I might need someone to check on the place if I’m gone for long..."

The boys laughed, clearly unconvinced, but merciful enough to drop it. They shuffled to the table, immediately making approving noises as they scanned the spread I’d made: rice, veggies, Hasselback chicken with pesto and mozzarella, along with appetizers and salads. Enough food to feed an army. And an army they were.

"Damn, Lovey, you’re ruining us. I can’t go back to instant ramen after this," Jace commented, mouth half-full.
