Hunt #4: Free Fall

They were in free fall, hurtling straight toward the ground—still tied up.If they didn't act soon, they'd die before even taking their first step toward their goal.

The wind hammered against their faces, violently distorting them. It felt like they were aging right before their eyes. What could they do? Every second counted, and the ground was getting closer. Far too close.

Alfie squirmed with all his might, screaming to wake his partner, thrashing around, trying to break free of the ropes—even just an arm, a hand, a finger… but nothing. Nothing budged.

He kept going, refusing to give up. His breathing grew faster. His heart pounded harder.Every breath was agony—bringing them closer to a tragic end.

"Is this it? Are we gonna die like this…?" he muttered, voice trembling. So this was it—his life would end here. Just like that.

After such a brilliant performance, they were going to die. Crushed. The image of that future—of their death—flashed through his mind.

Then, something strange happened.

His expression, his whole vibe changed in an instant. He wasn't the same anymore.A long smile stretched across his face, twisting it into something grotesque. Something demonic.

"I'm gonna die.""I'M GONNA DIE!!"

A laugh escaped him—a loud, unhinged laugh.Had he lost his mind?

He struggled harder—and this time, managed to slip his right hand free from the ropes.Half-liberated, he clenched his fist, fighting against the roaring wind, and managed to punch Den straight in the face.

"Argh—! The hell's your problem—? Where are we?! We're gonna die!!!"

"Start by freeing us, idiot!" Alfie shouted, punching him again.

Den's face instantly turned serious."D-Factor."

In a flash, their ropes burned away and snapped apart.

Den immediately grabbed Alfie tightly, pulling him close.

They were almost at the ground. Alfie pressed his palms together."D-Factor…"

BOOM.The ground shook. They crashed down like falling meteors, leaving a massive crater in their wake… but they were unharmed.

Alfie collapsed from exhaustion.Den caught him just in time.

"You did a hell of a job."
