Forty-Nine

Unknown POV

"We will be moving the children after the banquet" I informed their caretaker over the phone.

"But sir, you said we would still be here for the next two years at least" she replied in her usual tiny voice that always irritated me.

"Plans changed, last I checked I don't answer to you but the other way round, I am only informing you so you can get them ready and nothing more" I snapped at her.

"I'm sorry sir, I would start getting them ready" she answered as I ended the call having no more words to say to her.

"Is everything set?" I asked my driver as I walked down the marble stairs.

"Yes sir, the banquet will begin in fifteen minutes, we will be there right in time" he informed his gaze fixated on the ground avoiding any form of eye contact.

"Let's go then" I instructed, letting him lead the way as I dialed his number.

"Dad," he answered on the first ring.

"You ready?" I asked with a small smile on my face as I thought about our well-mapped plan.
