Eighty-Four

Jace’s POV

I watched from the balcony of my house, everyone was dressed in black, with scowls on their faces, walking round the back of the house where we all decided we would host the guests. We just returned from the cemetery where they were buried side by side just like Mum always wanted, but we still had to entertain the guests, perks of having rich parents. I couldn't recognize many of them as they were either business associates or family members, it was exactly four days after Dad’s death and a day after I was released from the hospital with strict warnings though. The loud thunder that rumbled in the skies was perfect weather for the day, I was burying my both parents together on the same day, and although they both hurt me in their own way I couldn't shake off the pain in my heart.

“Hey,” Paige called out softly snapping me out of my little reverie.

“Are you ready for the day?” I asked slowly turning to face her.
