Chapter 12.1

Confused by the recent events in her life and exhausted from all the work piling up, Nora rubbed her eyes and let out a long sigh.

“What a headache!” she complained aloud. Just then, someone walked into her office.

“You’re the one I wanted to see, Lidia!” she shouted excitedly when she noticed her friend’s presence. “How dare you start that rumor?”

“I told you, one gossip is stopped with another,” Lidia said with a sly smile. “Now everyone’s talking about you and Marcos. You should thank me.”

“Ahhhh!” Nora grabbed her hair in frustration. “To thank you?! Everyone’s gossiping about that blasted relationship, even my...” She fell silent.

“Even...?” Lidia repeated, waiting for her to finish the sentence.

“Forget it!”

“Don’t get mad. It’ll only last a little while. Soon, a new rumor will come up, and everyone will forget all about it.”

“That’s not the only thing! I don’t want misunderstandings or for this to increase the interest Marcos has in me.”
