Chapter Thirty Four

Viviana pushed open the door to their shared bedchamber, her mind still occupied by the unsettling encounter with Prince Dominic. She was about to recount the strange invitation when the sight before her stopped her short. Liliana stood in front of the large gilded mirror, her long, dark hair cascading down her back like a silken waterfall. A delicate smile played on her lips as she gently ran a brush through her hair, humming a soft, cheerful tune. It was a picture of serene happiness.

"Lily, what are you doing?" Viviana asked, her voice slightly louder than intended, breaking the peaceful atmosphere.

Liliana turned, her smile widening as she saw Viviana. "Oh, Vi! Nothing much, I'm just going to the garden for a little while." She turned back to the mirror, her humming resuming.
