CHAPTER 65

Damn it!

Everyone around Feiduan flinched at his reckless outburst. Their gazes shifted to Vortex Nagato, whose expression darkened immediately. In silent unison, they instinctively distanced themselves from Feiduan.

"The exam space said the leader's surname is Uzumaki, right? Naruto Uzumaki also has that surname! There's no way that's a coincidence!" Feiduan was brimming with misplaced confidence, convinced his deduction was flawless. He even added his own dramatic interpretation:

"Why would the leader lose to Naruto Uzumaki? The leader's strength is overwhelming—he must've gone easy on him!"

"And why would he do that? Easy! Chief must've realized Naruto's his long-lost son!"

"Look at Naruto's age, the timeline fits perfectly—"

"Feiduan… shut up."

Jiaodu couldn't take it anymore. He yanked Feiduan back using his tentacles, cutting off the impending disaster.

Feiduan blinked, noticing the peculiar silence. He looked around and realized everyone in the exam space was staring at him.

Their gazes… mockery, pity, schadenfreude.

Why were they looking at him like that?

Did they already answer?

Before Feiduan could process the awkwardness, the black light on their platform blinked out—and the spotlight shifted to the Red Team.

A sinking feeling clutched Feiduan's chest. He instinctively looked up at Nagato—only to meet the cold glare of the Rinnegan. The eye contact lasted mere seconds, but Feiduan's blood ran cold.

---

"My father is the Fourth Hokage—Namikaze Minato!"

The moment the answer phase passed to the Red Team, Naruto Uzumaki shouted with barely-contained emotion.

He had heard Hinata's gasp. He had caught the murmurs and gasps of realization. He had watched the previous live broadcast—he knew the name of the Fourth Hokage.

He even once muttered how "obscure" that Hokage was.

But now...

That "obscure" Hokage… was his father.

Naruto's fists clenched, knuckles turning white. His breathing quickened. He locked eyes with Nagato above, desperate for confirmation.

If my father really was Hokage... then all the pain I went through...

Was it all a joke?

Hokage. A title that required the will of the people. Their trust. Their respect.

And yet the son of such a man... was treated like trash.

Chakra, orange and angry, began to seep from his body—swirling like wildfire.

"Red Team answered correctly!"

---

BOOM.

BOOM.

BOOM.

Thunderous echoes crashed inside Naruto's skull. Even though he had braced himself…

It was true.

Real.

His father… was the Fourth Hokage.

Naruto stood frozen. His blood felt like it had turned to ice. He was drowning in a winter cold only truth could bring.

So cold. So bitter.

"Naruto," Jiraiya's voice trembled with sorrow as he approached. "When you were born, your father gave his life to seal the Nine-Tails. Your mother passed with him that same night."

Jiraiya placed a hand gently on Naruto's head.

"**I'm sorry. I wasn't in the village at the time. But your parents… they were heroes. If they could see you now, they'd be proud of—""

SLAP!

Naruto smacked Jiraiya's hand away. His eyes were wide with fury, his young face contorted in anguish.

"Heroes?"

"Proud?"

"They couldn't even rest in peace!!"

He spun around, rage boiling over. He pointed at the Konoha civilians and shinobi behind him.

"So this is how they treat a hero's child?"

Silence fell.

Many turned away, unable to meet his eyes. Even the civilians, who had never known his true lineage until now, lowered their heads in shame.

The Fourth Hokage… Even if the Third Hokage tried to erase his memory, he was still a Hokage.

And now... he was Naruto's father.

Jiraiya's eyes narrowed. Something wasn't adding up.

"Kakashi," he whispered, motioning for him to explain.

As Kakashi leaned in, a few of the Konoha civilians broke the silence—unable to tolerate the pressure.

"Impossible! You're the demon fox! My daughter died because of you—so did my wife!"

"Yeah! So what if the Fourth Hokage was your dad? You're still the fox demon!"

"Why else would the whole village treat you like this, huh? If you were really a hero's kid, someone would've said so! The Third would've told us!"

"We should've left you to starve, like you deserved!"

"Now that Jiraiya and Tsunade are back, we don't need you! You think you're special? Hah!"

"Hokage? That man couldn't even save the village. Good riddance."

"And if he's your dad, then what does that make your mother?!"

---

"SHUT UP!"

"SHUT UP!"

Two terrifying voices clashed at once—erupting into murderous intent.

The suffocating pressure struck like a hammer. Chakra surged from Hyuga Hiashi and Jiraiya simultaneously.

Every civilian who dared to insult Naruto collapsed under the weight, some falling to their knees in sheer terror.

Hiashi's eyes blazed.

"Regardless of his past, Uzumaki Naruto is now an honored guest of the Hyuga clan!"

"If anyone dares speak against him, you speak against me!"

As the true patriarch of Konoha's most powerful family, Hyashi knew the moment demanded decisive allegiance.

And then there was Jiraiya.

His entire body quivered—not with power, but with fury.

How had it come to this?

Sarutobi Hiruzen...

To preserve his influence, had he really let this happen?

Minato… A memory surfaced.

> "Sensei, can I name our son after the hero in your novel?"

"It's such a good name. Kushina would agree, right?"

"I agree."

Kushina had smiled, her hands over her pregnant belly.

Tears streamed silently from Jiraiya's eyes.

He looked at the villagers, then at Danzo's Root operatives watching from the shadows.

"If Minato ever returns… explain this to him yourself."

"Hmph."

---

"Hehehehe… I'm a fox demon?"

Naruto's strange laughter made everyone tense.

Orange-red chakra exploded around him—coiling like an inferno.

The chakra clung to him like a second skin—a cloak of rage.

And then… the tails formed.

Three…

Four…

Five…

Six…

Seven…

Eight—

The Eighth Tail!

The ground shook. The air crackled.

The fury of the Nine Tails surged forth—

And Naruto… was about to lose control.
