Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
With each successive collision, the Skeleton Emperor's complexion grew ashen, his vitality withering away. As a fallen being, his life force had never been stable to begin with. Now facing Su Min's ruthless lifespan-draining tactics, he was truly experiencing the worst possible luck.
To be fair, his techniques were formidable. The two had already shattered multiple stars along their battle path, and he'd managed to hold his ground each time. Yet with every defense, his despair only deepened. His imperial artifact was destroyed, eliminating even his last chance for a desperate counterattack.
Now under Su Min's frenzied assault, he was completely spent. The sensation of watching oneself march inexorably toward death—this was the Skeleton Emperor's current reality. Hopeless battles looked exactly like this. His face had already turned the color of ashes.
"Wouldn't it have been better to give up and let me kill you earlier? Such pointless survival instincts."
Just then, Su Min's ghostly voice rang out. To her surprise, the Skeleton Emperor suddenly abandoned all defense, allowing her sword strike to reduce him to dust—true annihilation of both body and dao.
"Whew..."
Su Min finally allowed herself to exhale, gradually withdrawing her power. Her armor dissipated, revealing the undamaged battle dress beneath—another artifact she'd forged herself, perfectly compatible with her Four Sacred Beasts armor.
"It's done. The final and greatest threat to this universe has been eliminated. No matter how violently the remaining super sects fight among themselves, they won't drag civilians into it. All that remains are matters in the universe's depths."
At this thought, Su Min's expression turned somewhat melancholy. From the moment she killed the Skeleton Emperor, everything she knew about this "game" had officially concluded. She could now relegate all that knowledge to the past.
In other words, her future foresight would no longer be of any use—not that it had been particularly useful anyway. This was essentially a sandbox-style world with randomly generated events. Beyond certain storyline quests, everything else required personal exploration.
"First, I should check on those people. That girl seems interesting."
With that, Su Min turned her gaze toward the distant fleet. In her vision, the massive ships now appeared no larger than specks of dust—though if she channeled spiritual energy into her eyes, she could still see distant objects with perfect clarity.
But there was no need. In the pure vacuum of space, many movement techniques received special enhancements. In the blink of an eye, she descended before the assembled crowd once more. What greeted her were expressions of worship and longing—none of which interested her in the slightest. She'd seen such looks too many times before, and their adoration held no value for her.
For one, she didn't follow the Path of Divine Flame, making faith-based power useless to her. Secondly, from a scientific standpoint, these people were already quite advanced. Their interstellar domain was vast, but to Su Min, it meant nothing.
They were simply too far from Heaven's Continent. At their current expansion rate, it would take them decades just to make contact—hardly relevant to her plans.
After a cursory glance, she beckoned the white-robed girl forward. None of the others had caught her interest.
"As agreed, you'll come with me. Your innate talents remain completely undeveloped here—it's just a waste of lifespan. I can show you a far grander world."
"Yes."
The girl nodded obediently. In her perception, Su Min shone like a blazing sun, while she herself was little more than a firefly. With the cosmic locust plague now over, there was no reason to remain.
As water flows downward, people strive for greater heights.
The girl had no reason to refuse Su Min. Everyone else here had become irrelevant. In the next instant, her figure vanished—Su Min had stored her in a specially crafted container.
With matters settled, Su Min prepared to depart, but—
"O Divine One, might you point the way forward for us?"
A late-stage Divine Transformation cultivator stepped forward, blocking Su Min's path. His heart pounded violently—he had no idea whether she might kill him for this audacity. But as the saying went: "Hear the Dao in the morning, die content at night."
"Hmm?"
Su Min's eyebrow twitched as she sensed a pleading emotion emanating from the girl inside her container—apparently, she wished to leave something behind for her homeland.
"Take this."
Not bothering with further discussion, Su Min produced a blank jade slip and imprinted it with information about the Dao Comprehension stage. Whether they could grasp the laws within was no concern of hers.
Then she vanished from the bridge, leaving the crowd staring dumbfounded at where she'd stood.
"She's just... gone?"
They exchanged bewildered glances, simultaneously relieved and regretful.
Relieved because they'd feared Su Min might enslave them—against her power, they knew kneeling would have been their only option. Regretful because even casual words from such an existence could have brought them immense benefits. Now all they had was this jade slip. Though a quick scan revealed astonishing contents, human greed always wanted more.
"In any case, we should erect statues of her across all planets. Even if she has no interest in us, her image can serve as a unifying symbol."
The man who'd risked stopping Su Min turned to address the group. Footage of Su Min's appearance had already spread, and her mere presence had quelled the recent chaos—meaning this mysterious being's imprint couldn't be erased.
Most importantly, they'd now witnessed the universe's true terrors. Their previous infighting seemed laughable in comparison. To survive in this dark forest of a cosmos, their known civilizations would need to band together.
But since they were all evenly matched, they required a unifying banner—and Su Min fit perfectly.
Unaware of these deliberations, Su Min had already arrived at a planet where she released the white-robed girl.
"Little one, how old are you?"
"Three hundred."
"Any family? When I take someone, I prefer bringing their entire household."
As an avid novel reader, Su Min never understood those sects that forcibly took young girls from their families. If she was taking someone, she'd bring the whole family.
"None. I was born on Daryl Star. My parents couldn't cultivate. They've both passed."
"I see. Before taking you back, let me explain your unique gift. You possess an extremely rare Heavenly Eye."
"Heavenly Eye?"
"Correct. Your ability to perceive me through causality despite our difference in cultivation indicates extraordinary talent. Any ordinary Divine Transformation cultivator would have exploded from the attempt."
The girl shivered slightly at this revelation.
"Your name?"
"Yang Meng."
"Pleasant. Since there's nothing else tying you here, you'll come with me."
"How far is your destination from here?"
"Impossible to say. With your current technology, reaching it would take tens of thousands of years. Come."
With a wave, the two disappeared. Su Min headed straight for her destination, with no further interest in this star sector's future. The universe was vast beyond measure, with countless life-bearing worlds. She wouldn't destroy civilizations, but had no intention of guiding their development either.
The journey back to Heaven's Continent took less than two weeks. Upon landing in East Mulberry State—
"You brought back another girl, this time is blind?"
Xie Yingying blinked at the white-robed girl, quickly noticing her unusual eyes.
"You see it too? This little one actually perceived me and survived—quite remarkable."
Su Min smiled. For an early-stage Divine Transformation cultivator to accomplish this wasn't just impressive—it bordered on miraculous.
"Through causality? That is rare indeed. But those eyes... they haven't awakened yet?"
Xie Yingying nodded, clearly familiar with Heavenly Eyes.
As for Yang Meng, she trembled slightly as she listened. To her senses, Su Min blazed like the sun, while Xie Yingying—though slightly dimmer—still shone like the full moon.
She'd thought such beings numbered only one or two in the entire universe. Apparently, there were more.
"First, prepare the eye-opening ritual for her. For cultivation techniques, adapt some scriptures from Future Bliss Mountain's library—their causality manipulation is exceptional."
"What will you do?"
"I need to consult Senior Jiang Xi. She knows much she hasn't shared with us. Now that I'm strong enough, it's time to learn those secrets."
Xie Yingying frowned slightly but didn't object. She understood Su Min's goals.
The eye-opening ritual required extensive preparations. Since Su Min valued this girl's talent, there was no reason to refuse. Whether she counted as Su Min's disciple mattered little—such promising seedlings were never to be turned away.
"Rest here for now. We'll help awaken your eyes. Your abilities will prove useful later. Also, you should advance to Dao Comprehension soon."
"Eh?"
Yang Meng looked bewildered. She knew about the Dao Comprehension stage—Su Min had explained the cultivation system during their journey.
Their so-called "evolvers" followed essentially the same path as orthodox cultivators. The next stage required comprehending laws to reach Dao Comprehension.
Su Min and Xie Yingying stood at the even higher Unity stage, with Mahayana and the so-called Great Emperor (Ascension) realm above that. The legendary, truly immortal Transcendence realm remained only theoretical.
But was advancing to Dao Comprehension really so simple?
Su Min wasn't speaking idly. With her existing causal abilities, Yang Meng already verged on touching causal laws. Once her eyes awakened, she could breakthrough immediately.
Not that Su Min needed her strength anytime soon.
Without even sitting down, Su Min departed East Mulberry State again, returning to Heaven's Continent's outer layer—specifically, Great Luo Tian State, where Yao Xian'er had prepared a residence for her.
Though Yao Xian'er had since left, she'd bequeathed it to Jiang Xi for quiet cultivation. Once a peak Mahayana expert, Jiang Xi had to start over after losing her Lunar Sovereign Body. Now at early-stage Dao Comprehension, her combat power remained formidable, but her cultivation level limited her compared to current top-tier experts.
Still, she lived comfortably. Owing to her kindness to Xie Yingying, Yao Xian'er's patronage, and her solitary nature, no one dared trouble her.
The scenic mountains now stirred with activity again as a figure descended from the skies, effortlessly piercing the complex defensive arrays to land before Jiang Xi.
"Tsk tsk, the legendary Five Elements Holy Body's mystique is well-earned. You penetrated those imperial-grade formations so easily—if their creator knew, she'd be livid."
Jiang Xi examined Su Min with interest. Of course, Su Min had announced her visit beforehand—this wasn't trespassing.
"At my current strength, if I encountered her at early-stage Unity, I could fight her evenly without external aids."
Su Min spoke calmly. During their last clash in the Golden Core trial, she'd relied on Xie Yingying's essence blood—an external boost. Otherwise, victory would've been impossible.
"Is that so? How fascinating your body must be."
"Heh."
Su Min merely chuckled at Jiang Xi's intrigued expression.
