Chapter 22 :Copy Shunpo, The Figure That Turns Into A Residual Shadow

"How did this guy beat Miss Yoruichi!?"

Hanakari Jinta, holding a baseball bat, stared at Nanaya in shock."He looks like a normal human... but he managed to do that?"

Most regular people wouldn't even survive a flick from Yoruichi, yet this guy actually gave her a hard time.

"It's those eyes…" Tessai Tsukabishi said seriously as he stared into Nanaya's eyes. "There's something dark in them… like deep, suppressed negative emotions."

"This power... it feels just like a Hollow's." Tsumugiya Ururu said weakly, looking at Nanaya's figure.

"Everyone, please settle down!"

Urahara Kisuke clapped his folding fan and smiled as he looked at the two figures in the middle of the battlefield.

"I want to see this for myself. What kind of ability could make Yoruichi struggle? It must be something special."

"Kid, you won last time," Yoruichi said, her face serious. "But this time, I'm not going easy on you."

As a noble from the Soul Society, she could accept one loss—but not two in a row to the same person.

"I'm ready," Nanaya replied.

As he spoke, golden spiritual energy exploded around Yoruichi.

BOOM!

Her Reiatsu flared up like golden fire.

The pressure in the air grew so intense it felt like the space around them was collapsing. The ground beneath her feet cracked and shattered under the force.

She gently stepped forward.

BOOM!

The ground blew apart, and smoke and dust filled the air. A massive crater formed beneath her.

SHUA!

A flash of purple light.

"She's even faster than before," Nanaya thought, eyes narrowing as his Mangekyō Sharingan tracked her movements.

In the blink of an eye, Yoruichi was right in front of him, reaching to grab his neck.

But…

"Again with this weird thing…" Yoruichi's eyes widened as her hand passed right through Nanaya.

He looked solid—but it was like he wasn't even there.

Not even his Reiatsu could be felt.

"A space-based ability?" Urahara muttered, now deeply focused. "Is he moving his body into another dimension?"

Because of his knowledge of Kidō and spatial techniques, he quickly recognized what was happening.

"He's shifting into an alternate space, keeping only an illusion of himself in our world…"

"No, it's more than that," Urahara continued, his eyes narrowing. "If he can move himself into that space… then he could also pull others in."

"If he switches into his Hollow form mid-fight, the enemy won't have time to react…"

Urahara's mind raced. The more he understood this ability, the more dangerous it seemed.

If someone in the Gotei 13 had a power like this—even a lieutenant—they could probably fight on the level of a captain… maybe even win.

Especially if the captain didn't know how to handle Kidō.

"A space-based power… So the only way to stop Mr. Nanaya is to lock down the entire space around him?" Tessai asked, his expression serious.

But those kinds of Kidō spells—ones that seal off space—are usually over level 60 and very complex to cast.

"No... that's not necessary," Urahara said, calming down as he smiled and waved his fan.

"No matter how terrifying an ability is, it can't be used endlessly."

Even if Nanaya's power was incredibly strong, it had to come with limits. Still… it was dangerous enough already.

"I can't touch you, and you can't touch me…" Yoruichi said. "In that case, let's see how long you can keep this up."

She clenched her fists and began flashing around Nanaya, attacking again and again.

Each movement was a strike, and there was barely a tenth of a second between them. If Nanaya exited his Hollow state, he'd be hit instantly by a flurry of blows.

"This woman is scary… she really holds a grudge," Nanaya muttered, shaking his head.

But he didn't release his Hollow form yet.

Instead, he focused on Yoruichi's feet with his glowing red eyes.

"Let me see… Shunpo."

In their last fight, he wanted to copy her Flash Step technique—but he was too tired to observe it properly.

Now, with his Hollow abilities active, he was determined to try.

His eyes locked onto her movements, analyzing every detail.

"With those special energy channels in her legs, the way she controls her spiritual power is delicate and complex," he murmured. "She uses different techniques every moment… it's not just technique, it's instinct."

While he spoke, inside his Kamui space, his own body began to move—first slowly, then picking up speed.

One step… two… faster and faster...

"Huh!?"

Urahara Kisuke and Tessai Tsukabishi were stunned as they watched the battle unfold.

There's a saying: those in the fight can't see clearly, but observers can.Unlike Yoruichi, who was fully focused on the fight, they noticed something unusual happening with Nanaya.

"Wait… is he actually copying Yoruichi's Shunpo?" Tessai said in disbelief.

"That's insane. That's one of the four core Shinigami techniques! And he's learning it during the battle?"

The four core Shinigami skills—Zan, Ken, , and Kido—each represent a pillar of power:

Zan: swordsmanship

Ken: hand-to-hand combat

Sō (or "Walk"): speed techniques like Shunpo

Kidō: demon arts (spiritual spells)

Shunpo is such a complex skill that it stands on its own as one of the four. Even many captains in the Gotei 13 only manage to master the basics.

"No matter how impossible it sounds… it's happening," Urahara said, his expression serious."Nanaya really is copying it—and he's already gotten the hang of it."

"In just under two minutes, he's gone from clumsy footwork to the foundations of Shunpo…"

Hisss…

Tessai gasped in horror, eyes fixed on Nanaya as he backed away.

Yes—horror.

This wasn't just a prodigy—they were watching a monster in human form.

Not even Hitsugaya Tōshirō, the youngest captain in Soul Society, could learn Shunpo this fast.

"It's his eyes…" Urahara said firmly. "Those eyes of his are tracking Yoruichi's every move. He's been studying her technique since the start. She walked right into it."

Even Tsumugiya Ururu and Jinta, who didn't fully understand the depth of Shunpo, realized how terrifying this was.

They stared at Nanaya like he wasn't even human.

"Hollow mode's about to run out..." Nanaya said to himself with a tinge of regret, licking his lips.

"If I just had ten more minutes..."

Shunpo wasn't something you could perfectly copy in five minutes. It involved spiritual energy control, balance, and exact muscle movement—there were so many subtle elements to it.

Still, Nanaya smiled.

"But this is enough."

With that thought, his body reappeared in the physical world. The moment his feet touched the ground, he exploded forward with ghost-like speed.

"What!?"

Yoruichi's eyes widened.

She was still attacking in rapid succession and didn't expect him to suddenly move that fast.

SHUA!

In a blink, Nanaya appeared right in front of her. With a cocky grin, he reached out and pinched her nose.

"Miss Yoruichi, looks like I win."

Yoruichi's face turned red—either from anger or embarrassment, maybe both.

"Go to hell!" she shouted, gritting her teeth and kicking at him furiously.

BANG!

Her kick smashed into the ground, shaking it. But Nanaya had already used Shunpo to dodge and appeared over ten meters away.

Yoruichi glared at him.

"You... stole my Shunpo," she said slowly.

Even if she hadn't realized it earlier, she knew the moment Nanaya used the technique—it was unmistakable.

He wasn't just mimicking the speed. He was using her exact movements. The same footwork. The same way of applying spiritual pressure.

The only difference was that his version was slightly weaker—but that made sense. Her Shunpo was developed to suit her body.

Because of differences in build—like body weight, flexibility, and even gender—he couldn't perfectly replicate it.

But that didn't make it less frightening.

Nanaya had never used Shunpo before this fight. He had learned it from scratch—and now, he was using her own move against her.
