Lets lay down

"Should I switch to champagne?" Raiden tapped the whiskey glass in his hand, looking at Obadiah in front of him and Tony, who was slumped on the couch behind Obadiah, when he suddenly spoke.

"Raiden, I think they..." Yinsen started to warn Raiden, but suddenly, he lost control of his body.

Both Raiden and Yinsen fell to the ground, and of course, Obadiah fell with them. Obadiah had activated the paralysis device, and without the chip in his ear, he too was affected.

At that moment, all three of them lost control of their bodies and collapsed to the floor.

But in reality, Raiden wasn't paralyzed.

To be precise, he was only paralyzed for an instant. The moment he hit the ground, he had already regained control of his body.

Yet Raiden continued to pretend he was paralyzed, and the reason for this was simple: he saw Obadiah writhing on the floor like a snake, inching forward.

The sound waves emitted by the device were something no human could resist. Even Yinsen, whose physical condition far surpassed that of an ordinary person, couldn't withstand it. But Obadiah managed to move, even if it was with great difficulty.

Raiden had never imagined Obadiah would be a villain.

He looked... well, a bit ugly sure, and not exactly easy on the eyes, but he was generous! Friendly!

Obadiah was so kind, or at least he appeared to be. In Raiden mind, Obadiah was a friend. And now, this friend had betrayed him, betrayed all of them.

But why? What was his reason?

Obadiah didn't lack money, nor did he lack power.

What did he want? What drove him to endure such pain and move his body through sheer willpower?

Raiden didn't stop Obadiah. He simply lay quietly on the ground, his soul detached from his body observing everything from a different perspective.

Obadiah crawled painfully across the floor, driven forward by some kind of conviction.

On the couch, Tony stared blankly at the ceiling, hating his own weakness. It was a strange scene—family, friends, friends, family... now turned enemies.

Obadiah left.

He crawled out of the house, and after a while, the sound of a car starting came from outside. Obadiah was gone.

After Obadiah left, Tony also moved. He began to struggle, but without the arc reactor, the paralysis had a greater effect on him. He could die at any moment. Tony struggled into the elevator, and as the doors closed, Raiden saw the determination in Tony eyes—it was life or death.

Raiden soul returned to his body. He stood up, picked up the whiskey bottle that had rolled to the floor, walked to the liquor cabinet, and pulled out two glasses.

Then he found a corkscrew and opened the bottle.

"Raiden, why?" Yinsen voice came from behind Raiden.

"I don't know... and what about you?" Raiden poured two glasses of whiskey.

Yinsen walked over and sat down beside Raiden, pulling a pair of glasses from his pocket and putting them on. It was just a frame—Yinsen had removed the lenses from his old pair.

Sometimes, he just liked wearing this frame.

"Because I believe in you" Yinsen said, picking up his glass and downing it in one go.

Raiden shook his head without saying a word, also picking up his glass and emptying it in one go, then pouring two more full glasses.

"Will Tony be okay?" Yinsen suddenly asked while drinking.

"He'll be fine, he'll be fine. He won't die" Raiden said, looking up and pondering for a moment before adding "He even installed the reactor in himself."

Yinsen raised an eyebrow.

"You can see that? What kind of magic is that? X-ray vision or something? What about Obadiah? Could he cause any trouble?"

"I don't know about Obadiah, but this magic has a simple and easy-to-understand name... it's called technology" Raiden said, pointing to the ceiling.

Above them was a display screen showing the scene in the workshop downstairs.

"Jarvis, let me know if someone's coming to the door" Raiden said.

"Of course, Mr. Akatosh" Jarvis replied.

Yinsen asked curiously "Is someone else coming?"

Raiden nodded. "Either Rhodey or some agents. Whoever it is, after we finish this bottle, we'll just lie down."

"Lie down?"

"If we don't, it'll be hard to explain."

...

"Tony? Tony!" Rhodey rushed in from the door.

"Oh! Raiden? Yinsen!" Rhodey immediately saw Raiden and Yinsen lying on the floor as soon as he entered.

Raiden and Yinsen weren't particularly close with Rhodey, but a friend of a friend is still a friend, and since Tony didn't have many friends, the group had a particularly good relationship.

After quickly checking that Raiden and Yinsen vital signs were stable, Rhodey rushed into the workshop to look for Tony.

Sure enough, Rhodey found Tony lying motionless on the floor in the workshop.

As soon as Rhodey touched Tony body, Tony instantly woke up, his eyes filled with wariness as he looked at Rhodey.

"It's me! It's me! Tony, it's Rhodey" Rhodey quickly said, patting his chest.

"Pepper! Where's Pepper?!" Tony grabbed Rhodey arm and asked.

"She's fine, she's fine. She's on her way to capture Obadiah with five agents" Rhodey reassured him.

"Five isn't enough!" Tony said, looking at Rhodey.

Tony took Rhodey to the garage where the suits were stored, as the three in the workshop weren't ready for use yet.

Of course, on the way, they picked up two "corpses."

"Wow!" Rhodey and Yinsen exclaimed as Tony demonstrated how to put on one of the suits in front of them. Honestly, the process was pretty cool.

But Raiden looked worried... because he was always concerned about Tony getting his hair caught when putting on the helmet.

"Hey, Tony, need any help? This is so cool" Rhodey marveled.

Unlike Raiden and Yinsen, this was the first time Rhodey had seen the Iron Man suit in person.

"Yeah, just keep the airspace clear for me!" Tony said, activating the thrusters.

Before leaving, Tony turned back to Raiden and said.

"Remember to come and help me."

After speaking, Tony shot out... Well, that might not be the best choice of words.

Let's add "spurted" instead—he spurted out, soaring into the sky.

"Damn, that's so cool, absolutely badass!" Rhodey watched Tony departing figure, fiercely waving his hand, then turned his gaze to another suit of armor nearby—the first prototype test unit.

Rhodey looked back at Raiden and Yinsen and said.

"I just checked, there are three more suits in the workshop. With the four of us, there's more than enough to go around!"

"There are three more in the workshop?!" Raiden and Yinsen exclaimed in unison.

Yinsen face was filled with eagerness, while Raiden... well, he looked like he was about to orgasm.

"Alright, let's not overthink it. We'll come back next time. Didn't we say we were going to help? Let's get moving!" Rhodey patted Raiden and Yinsen on the shoulders.

Before leaving, Rhodey turned back reluctantly to glance at the armor, saying with deep affection.

"We'll come back next time... my love"
