Eiji Mizuno had always felt out of place in the world. At 17, he was just another high schooler with average grades and a quiet disposition, blending into the background like a shadow in a city that never stopped moving. His classmates called him “boring,” his teachers wrote him off as “mediocre.” But what they didn’t know, what no one knew, was that Eiji was obsessed with martial arts. Every day after school, he would lock himself in his room, watching videos of legendary fighters Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and countless other icons. He studied their moves, analyzed their strategies, and dreamed of becoming like them.
But dreams and reality never quite aligned. He wasn’t naturally gifted. He didn’t come from a family with deep connections to martial arts. His parents worked long hours, and their struggles left little time or money for extracurricular activities. So, Eiji trained in secret. Using the small amount of space in his room, he practiced basic punches, kicks, and footwork. His form wasn’t perfect, but it was his only escape, his way of pushing back against the mediocrity that defined his life.
