Theresa left the room with an awkward laugh.
Meanwhile, Hugo's auditions continued.
Before he could even speak, Bronya took the lead:
"Bronya is not a little girl — I am a legitimate minor! Please refrain from using such disrespectful labels."
Hugo chuckled and said:
"That was just a silly little moment. Now, let's see your acting."
Bronya glanced at the script and said:
"Does this even require acting? All I have to do is keep a straight face and show no emotion — that perfectly fits the character."
She had thoroughly read the script. Playing a character who had lost their emotions was effortless for her.
Hugo nodded and said:
"Fair point. Congratulations, you're in."
"That's it?"
"That's it?"
Mobius and Bronya spoke in unison, clearly surprised.
"Hugo, is this really how you conduct auditions?"
Mobius was in disbelief. From her experience, casting in any film or TV production was an intense, selective process — and this guy had finalized the main cast in just a few minutes?
Hugo responded calmly:
"Of course. Auditions are just to see whether an actor fits the role — and in my eyes, they fit perfectly."
As someone who had transmigrated from another world, he mainly wanted to see whether the people in this world were the same as in his memories.
"How about you, Elysia?" Mobius turned to her for a second opinion.
Elysia replied,
"I trust my husband."
"You..."
"You two..."
Mobius was nearly fuming with frustration:
"Fine! Do whatever you want!"
She stood up and stormed off.
Hugo quickly called after her:
"Mobius, don't go! We still need to discuss props and the shooting schedule!"
"Go talk to your brain-dead wife!"
Despite what she said, Mobius stomped back angrily to help him work out the props and production timeline.
Hugo had already prepared all the concept designs for the props.
The only thing left was to figure out who would make them and ensure they met his standards.
With Mobius, the most competent secretary, on the team, all of this was resolved quickly and efficiently.
Three days later.
Filming for Honkai Impact 3rd officially began.
As the first drama project under Flamechaser Star Entertainment Company, everyone gave their all.
Kiana, Bronya, Mei... all the actors fully immersed themselves in their roles, doing their best in every scene.
Well...
Except for Elysia.
During filming, she spent all her time cuddling up to the girls, flirting with every actress she could.
Even Mobius could only tolerate her mischief as long as it didn't interfere with the actual shoot.
But of course!
If she did delay the progress, Mobius wouldn't hesitate to make Hugo work overtime to catch up.
She had no intention of going easy on that man.
And so,
Two weeks flew by.
The early story arc of Honkai Impact 3rd was finally completed.
When Hugo called out "OK," the entire crew breathed a collective sigh of relief.
Two weeks of intense coordination and filming had left them thoroughly exhausted.
Himeko (who played the teacher of the main characters) slung an arm around Kiana's shoulder and shouted:
"Anyone want to grab drinks after work?"
Theresa put her hands on her hips:
"Himeko, this is a school..."
"Auntie, filming's over already."
Mei chuckled:
"Kiana, filming's done. Why are you still calling Theresa 'Auntie'?"
Kiana scratched her head and laughed:
"Haha, habit!"
Clap clap clap~
A round of applause echoed through the room.
Everyone turned to look at the source of the sound.
They saw Elysia holding a megaphone:
"Great job, everyone! I've already reserved a private room — now you can all relax and enjoy yourselves!"
Himeko immediately perked up:
"Elysia, will there be alcohol?"
Elysia replied:
"Of course! Eat and drink as much as you want — just relax and have fun!"
"Yay!"
Everyone cheered in excitement.
Mobius, however, looked suspicious and asked Hugo:
"Hey, what's with your wife? She suddenly started being responsible — even thinking about rewarding the team?"
While reviewing footage from the shoot, Hugo replied:
"She probably thinks having a bunch of cute girls drinking together is bound to lead to something fun."
Uh...
Mobius glanced at Elysia.
She had no doubt this was exactly the kind of thing Elysia would do — and couldn't help but shudder.
She immediately shouted:
"Chairwoman, I have to prepare the marketing plan, so I won't be going. Oh, and the director says he's not going either — it's all girls there."
"I..."
Hugo never said he didn't want to go!
Elysia pouted regretfully:
"Alright then, hubby, don't wait up for me tonight. I'm going to drink with the girls."
"Ugh..."
It was too late — the decision was made.
All Hugo could do was glare at Mobius with frustration.
Mobius smirked victoriously, grabbed the raw footage, and left first.
