Chapter 42: Lucy's First Quest

(Note: I'll be changing the schedule for Beast of Fairy Tail, to match my two other novels. It'll return to its normal schedule when I finish my summer classes.)

"Welcome to Fairy Tail, Lucy!" Said Gramps loudly while stamping the back of Lucy's right hand, causing everyone to shout in joy, with Natsu going so far as to lift her onto his shoulders. "Haha, new member! Time to celebrate!" Said Natsu with a wicked grin while Lucy held onto his head for support. "T-Thanks, but can you put me down? Also, why does Gray have no clothes on?" "Oh, my clothes are off? I didn't even know." Rolling my eyes in amusement, I grabbed the back of Lucy's collar, lifting her off Natsu before gently setting her down while kicking the fire dragon slayer into several tables.

"Now that you're a part of Fairy Tail, you're my little sister, and only address me as big bro from now on… If you ever need anything, I'll help." Offering Lucy a smile, I affectionately rubbed her head, causing her to smile through her faint blush. "Got it! Thanks, Coo- big bro." Nodding, I backed away from Lucy, allowing everyone to surround her while barrels of beer and tons of food were brought from the guild's pantry. "Ugh, finally, more beer!" Said Cana loudly with a burp as she grabbed a whole barrel for herself, causing me to sigh at her alcoholic tendencies

While everyone celebrated Lucy joining the guild, some used this chance to introduce themselves, though the other, more reckless ones did what they were known best for and started fighting. "Haha, get your ass over here, Max!" "Not a chance, Jet!" "I'm joining as well." "Not if I've got anything to say about that, Natsu!" As Max, Jet, Natsu, and Gray started fighting, Elfman, Nab, Droy, and Vijeecter joined the fight along with several others until, eventually, not even an hour later, nearly everyone in the guild was fighting someone save for a few.

"Huh, the hell you say, you ugly redhead?" Said Mira aggressively as she glared at Erza, who clenched her fist before suddenly punching her face. "That's what I said, Mira!" Erza replied with an irritated expression as she eyed Mira, who demonically smiled while wiping her bleeding nose. Watching Mira and Erza fight for the second time today, I sat in the back, calmly watching everyone before glancing at Cana, who hobbled toward me. "H-Hey, big bro." Said Cana, clearly drunk, as she plopped onto my lap, causing me to fix her position until she was sitting properly on my lap. "Yes?" "L-Let's go have some fun." Said Cana with a faint smile while reaching toward my crotch, only to suddenly cover her mouth, causing me to furrow my brows, though the next thing I knew, she was vomiting all over herself and me; knowing Cana and her heavy drinking habits, she's the last person I thought would've been unable to hold her alcohol down. 

"Ugh, I-I feel terrible… I probably shouldn't have drunk three barrels of beer back to back." Muttered Cana weakly as she wiped her mouth while gazing at the puddle of vomit on my lap. "Cana." Glaring at Cana, who sheepishly nodded, through gritted teeth, I grabbed her by the head and lifted her in the air as I carried her to the showers, where I stripped both of us before tossing our clothes into the wash basin.

Setting her down in front of one of the many showers, I grabbed soap and loofah and began scrubbing Cana's body, washing everywhere, though focusing mainly around her chest as that's where most of her vomit went, well, besides my chest and lap. "I'm supposed to be celebrating my newest sister, and yet here I am, spending my time in the bathroom with you." "Ugh, s-sorry big bro." Muttered Cana apologetically as she lowered her head while I washed between her thighs, causing me to snort, though I didn't continue to complain and just spent the next few minutes washing ourselves.

Once finished, I quickly washed our clothes and took her to one of the rooms in the back, where I tucked her into the bed. "C-Can I have a cup of alcohol before–" Flicking Cana's head, knocking her unconscious, I closed the door and left her be.

Intending to join the celebrations, I returned to the guild hall, only to gaze upon the damage it's received and my unconscious siblings before chuckling as I sat at the bar Laki was manning. "You didn't do something perverted with Cana, did you, big bro?" Asked Laki as she skeptically gazed at me while handing me a cup of alcohol, causing me to raise an eyebrow before shaking my head in confusion. "No, why would you ask that?" Laki didn't respond; she just gave me a suspicious look before backing away while I rubbed my head. 

While it's true most women in Fairy Tail had a crush on me, I tended to keep my sexual desires away from the guild; the fling I had with Mira was a one-time thing; I just found it hard to refuse back then. After all, Lisanna died a week ago, and she had just offered herself to me. If I had refused her right then, I was worried I might've done some irreversible damage to her pride as a woman. 'Besides, it's not like I hated it either.' Glancing at Mira, who was lying beside Erza, I faintly smirked before shaking my head.

Another thing to note, though, was that, about a year ago, seemingly all the women, save for a few like Mira and Erza, lost any romantic interest in me, which till this day confuses me; however, since our familial love remains the same, I never bothered to dig deep into the reason why.

Finishing the drink in hand, I found a sleeping Lucy and carried her back to a room while I sat atop the Guild for the rest of the night; with everyone, including Gramps, drunk, someone needed to watch out for attacks from Phantom Lord. They've yet to do anything significant, mainly just egging our guild, but I wasn't taking any chances; right now would be a perfect chance to attack, given how everyone was drunk and unconscious.

'Well, since I'm here, it should be fine… The only person I need to watch out for is Jose Porla; everyone else is weak.' With a sigh, I leaned against the chimney and watched until afternoon, since that's when everyone else woke up.

By evening, the guild was back to operating normally, with everyone seemingly fighting despite last night's brawl, well, except for Cana. "My stomach is killing me; I shouldn't have drunk that much last night… I need some beer to wash the pain away." Muttered Cana softly as she looked at Mira, who sighed and shook her head before handing her a bottle of wine. "Haa, no beer for you, Cana, only wine." As Mira bent underneath the bar, she flashed me her breasts, causing me to roll my eyes while she gave Cana a bottle of wine. 

Ever since our one-night stand from two years ago, Mirajane has been trying to constantly seduce me, though I tend just to ignore her little antics as I find them to be more amusing than arousing if I'm being honest; she's no doubt a beautiful woman, it's just, whenever I see her and Erza fight, I can't help but see two children rather than women.

"Why won't you just send someone to go after him, Master?" "Because I said so. Macao is a veteran mage; he can handle himself." "But-" "Enough that's final!" Said Gramps sternly as he folded his arms and glanced at Romeo, Macao's child, who didn't take kindly to his refusal. "Stupid, senile old man!" Yelled Romeo angrily as he punched Gramps before storming out of the guild, causing me to chuckle in amusement while standing up, following behind Romeo. "Hehe, he might be right, Gramps… You might be going senile." Unlike Romeo, I got smacked in the back of the head for my remark, though I just grinned while exiting the guild, only to spot Lucy.

"Oi, you're coming with me, Lucy." Before Lucy could enter the guild, I grabbed the top of her head and spun her around. "Um, okay. So, where are we going?" "To retrieve someone." Offering Lucy little information, as I also didn't know much, I approached the alley Romeo had walked down, only to spot Natsu and Happy already talking to him. "He's at Mt. Hakobe; he took a quest to defeat Vulcans. Please go and help him, Natsu!" Said Romeo pleadingly as she grabbed Natsu's scarf. "Heh, you can count on me, Romeo! C'mon, Happy!" Attaching himself to Natsu's back, Happy began to flap his wings, taking Natsu into the air, though before he could get high, I grabbed his foot.

"Where do you think you two are going?" "Um, to help Macao?" Replied Happy with a cute smile, though I merely raised an eyebrow. Natsu was a strong mage, considering he was a participant in the S-class promotional trial last year, granted everyone lost; however, I was concerned whether he'd actually help Macao or just make things worse since, while reliable, letting him go on a mission alone was always a bit skeptical.

"Lucy and I are coming; I'm introducing her to quests." Reaching underneath Lucy's butt, I lifted her into my arm like a toddler while infusing both Natsu and Happy with my magic, causing them to shimmer gold. "Haha, I love your Indestructible Magic, big bro! I'm so strong!" Said Happy with a large smile as he flapped his wings, effortlessly lifting all three of us before speedily flying out of the city toward Mt. Hakobe. "D-Don't look down. D-Don't look down!" Muttered Lucy fearfully while tightly wrapping her arms around my neck.

Oi, don't be mad at me, I had said earlier that Mira and Erza weren't the love interest
