Destiny

When I opened my eyes our gazes clashed. All I could see was the blood on his face. That's when I remembered I also had blood on my face, the thought of having some random males blood on my face disgusted me. I used a bit of cleaning magic to wipe off my face. After all I have an apperance to keep up so there is no way in hell I'm staying covered in blood, with a quick wave over my body and daggers I was clean. Sheathing my daggers back to their places I glanced over my shoulder to look at the other bodies on the ground.

I turn my head back to skull "Yeah, you need to clean up the bodies, and make it quick." None of us want to linger longer than we have to. I took a deep breath, closing my eyes to feel the flow of magic around us. It was everywhere if you knew how to look for it. Most have a natural talent for at least two elements. Fire, water, air, earth and spirit these are the most common of the elements accessible. Although I am part angel, I had a natural affinity for air elements and most that derived from it. However, unlike what was common I did not carry the rarer affinity which is light magic. Instead my second affinity was water magic, that was possibly from my mother's bloodline.

Altho trying to gain more then 3 is really hard, but Seika was working on ways to gain even more affinities. So far her studies and experimentation had given me access to the rare space affinity, which was proving to be difficult to control. I could only safely absorb the element, and use it in tandem with my air affinity. Doing so had allowed me on a small scale to manipulate the space of the air directly touching my body. If my connection with air was not this strong I doubt I would have been able to apply the space element otherwise.

I had suffered to much to get where I am and who I had become. Seika was the first person to show me kindness when I was in need of it, when he badly hurt me thats when the Viod first had swallowed me, I felt nothing as the ice broke and the ocean came and then disappeared as the darkness came and took me. My birth father who had been very abusive, gave me my scars they dont hurt anymore. When he would beat me so close to death I would simply black out from bloodless and that was before he started to hold back. It only took that one time, I had made sure to take care of that problem when I left, cremated and in limbo.

He was entombed now per what my mother and Fae said, or his family.

"Your face!" Seikas words, and sudden apperance in my line of vision startled me from my thoughts. Her divinity flared to life the pure golden energy pulsing strongly as she leaned in and touched my forehead. I closed my eyes leaning into the warmth she poured into me as a soft sigh slipped from my mouth.

"Seika...thank you." I opened my eyes as I spoke and saw her own bright golden eyes locked with my aquamarine eyes. She smiled just as her eyes turned back to her stormy blue-grays with a hint a green. "I know it won't work forever, but I am thankful." I told her with a small unnoticeable smile.

"I know~" Her voice reminded me of lullabies, soft but musical. I laughed softly as her gentle face cringed as a few loud and wet snaps sounded behind her. She withdrew from me tossing all her curls as she started to move towards Skull who was bent down over something.

"Drink this Skull." She held out a vial towards the white haired mammoth of a man. When he held his hand out towards the much smaller girl it seemed so threatening. Thing was Skull gave off a complete lack of energy with the move. Even she could still feel the pressure his whole physical being gave off. He was a bit over six foot, to Seika's four foot nothing, and easily over three hundred pounds. All of that weight was massive, big bulky muscle and he knew how to use it.

He downed the bottle as he stood and Dragon approached his sword dispatched with a wrist flick. He ran a hand through his silver hair as he glanced at me before turning back to his sister. I took a deep breath, realizing I had lost myself for a few seconds to my emotions. Which was never good, the more I felt the faster I would lose it.

"Well fin-" he suddenly cut off and narrow his eyes when he looked back at me as I was whirling dagger in hand. That's when he noticed Another group of four coming our way, with one guy out further, and in front of the other three.

"Dragon, deal with em yeah?" Skull grumbled as he turned back to.....the rest of the body. I knew the tattletale signs of his race and their special abilities. Seika clung quickly to my side and I just found a spot with less well.... less....mess to stand in. While Dragon wasn't much shorter than Skull, he was lanky and not very muscular.

"Yeah whatever ." He glanced at me and I nodded giving Seika a pat on her head, ruffling her rose gold fox ears. She smiled so brightly even showing her fangs as she made a happy noise pressing her face into my side. She uses her apperance to make herself seem oh so innocent. I felt a smile creep up my cheeks even as I tried to fight the smile.

'Little Kitsune, your just as fun as me.' The 'thought' always amused me just as much anytime she shared her words telepathically. 'And don't say I'm cheating-'

'Find a better hobby Kit.' She gave a pout at my words but both of us soon focused as Dragon arrived.

--

Dragon had reached the middle ground of our two groups with their diplomatic choice. Everyone in a group has a very important role they have to play. We all need allies, so we have to trust one another to achieve our goals. I really need one more person, thankfully my Uncle had agreed to fill in if I never found anyone.

The Academy is set with four main houses that lead it. To break it down simply the four houses are Heart, Diamond, Club and Spade. We had to pass the trial in the labyrinth, and the first thirteen teams would be officially recognized as Cards. That was our first big step, and then six months of training with one of the houses. After training there is a tournament to decide who would be the next in line to lead one of the houses.

"We want an alliance." The voice belonged to the male who was facing Dragon as they both stood away from the main groups they were each with.

Dragon shook his head and chuckled "Who is your leader?" I couldn't help but smile as I glanced at the three people that are near the corner. Dragons tone was bored even as one of the men shuffled forward. I signaled to Seika as I moved to join Dragon, she arrived at the guys before I did. Me and Seika timed it that way with Dragon. She glanced over her shoulder and I gave Seika a wicked smile, she returned one back to me sweetly.

"I am" a female said, and I noted she was well built as I got closer. "My name is Cross, I wish to ally myself with you" with this she approached me with her sword out.

My lips turn up as I smirk "Prove it show me what your worth." I said pulling my daggers from my thighs, and tucked them in my hands. I threw the first dagger which she deflected but I'd expected that. She had directed it back towards me as I aimed my empty arm for the dagger. She took the bait as I throw my second dagger which caught her in the thigh as she had started to turn. I always feel exhilarated when im in a fight which always seems to unnerved my enemies.

No one ever expects their enemy to smile, Skull had told me once that my smile was particularly unsettling but I digress. The female caught me with a downward slash as I pulled daggers from my boots going for her side. My daggers caught her sword in a X before I twisted aiming to disarm the dark haired woman. She used the motion to throw a front kick that I was unable to avoid. It snapped into my chin catching me of balance as we both abandoned our weapons. I felt a shudder of anticipation roll through my body even as I took the impact. I launched into a one handed back handspring that is easy for me after my brutal training at Karmas hands. I palmed the previously deflected dagger, I then aimed straight for her stomach and throw as hard as I can.

"Ok ok I have proved my self we both know your better then me. Are we good?" Her hands were up in the air, as my dagger stopped just before her I just stared at her as I started to retrieve weapons.

"Okay" I shrugged at her as I sheathed my own weapons after inspecting them to make sure there was no chips. "I am taking this" I said lifting her sword "consider it my prize, instead of your death."

"I think I can live with that." I could tell she was not happy about that, but we both just had to survive six months. Tomorrow.....or today all of the remaining applicants were to meet up at the refectory. We still had several hours until then.

"Good, follow me then. If anyone were to attack they will be delt with, with that you will follow any orders you are given." She nodded and I gestured at my team, "Skull will you hurry up your going to be tired after all that food" I said as I rolled my eyes.

'Plus we are going to have more bodies for him on the way~' Seika chimed in my head as she danced over to my side.

'Of course, did you gather samples?'

'Yes silly~'

'Good, you'll be able to work with no interruptions.' She flashed me a smile even as I started down the hall. Her common affinities were fire, light, and water. However, Seika had some very and I mean very rare abilities and affinities due to her bloodline. The golden Divinity she could weild, had only ever been seen once before and that was a very long time ago. Her apperance changed drastically when she used to much of this power and she would suffer the consequences.

Her golden Divinity was awakened after her parents were killed in front of her. Her mother's bloodline was....special, and her mothers parents had soon found out about their grandchildren. They were the last of her mothers family then tragedy struck, burning the family home and everyone inside. Everyone except Seika who had been enveloped in her Divinity before collapsing and sleeping for three months. Dragon then found her and then sought out help. Dragons parents were now raising them, although they did spend their time at the academy.

Skull is Karmas relative some how though I am not sure of the distance of blood relationship. While Skull is a Bone Demon, which is a unique clan with one of the strangest reputations, Karma on the other hand came from long line of Amazonians. While the two bloodlines did have similarities, they were also very different. Skull had agreed to teach me about the cultures in return for Dragon and I to spar with him. Dragon enjoyed the fight, as did I because sometimes it was a free for all, or them against me.

On the other hand Seika and I would play tag, although she was older than she six years she appeared, she loved to play. Kitsune were very childlike if their physical appearance was younger, and it wasn't uncommon. She could be very deadly, but her real passion and fixation was on bodies. Nephilum blood was highly adaptive and anything that would give me the slightest edge was something I would do. If I ended up losing organs, or major bones we had already figured out ways around the issue.

Some races had higher healing ability, and while they had something that made it more fair, I did not. Kitsune blood should have excited me, to where I should be much like Seika was day to day. It only made me happier, and appreciate what I had made for myself. In four years I had made friends and worked myself into the position I needed for everything to really start.

"Give me everyones information."

"Of course. As you know I am Cross, of the Harpy race with air affinity. I also have my races rare abilities so I know I need to side with you for my own goals." I noticed her predatory eyes, very large and birdlike, as well the cloak that covered her form.

"There is no need to hide your apperance around me." Some of the Harpy race could look more or less bird or human either way. While I knew they found the more bird the more beautiful, the opposite was true making the more human shunned. "Bird or woman, feather or smooth you will always be a Harpy." I knew all their race as beautiful, for that is how it was in Elyssium but the same was not true for Pandimonuim.

"You do this one honor Sera." I saw the respect for me in her eyes and laughed. How....unexpected, and how delightful this had turned out to be.

"How much do you see?"

"Between the Kitsune and I? We will see it all." Her eyes lit up as Seika stepped forward, I could feel it not as strongly but enough. This was Divinity saying the meeting today, this outcome was blessed.

"You can't slack off yet~" The musical voice of Seika made me laugh softly as she joined us. Dragon was with Cross' people, a bit ahead of us as we moved he would signal for us to stop if need be.

"I don't belive in other people easily, but I'll give you one chance because I belive in myself. That means anyone I choose is worthy, and if they ever betray me I will end their existance." It was one of my rules, I had a few but this one was the only important rule today. "Follow the Rules, simple as that."

"Oh and if I'm in my room bother me at your own risk~" Seika giggled as she did a twirl making me glanced back at Skull following a few feet behind us. Seika's storage bag hung from his neck as he ate something even as he tucked a humanoid head into said bag. 'The Harpy has also agreed to give me some samples when we arrive at our room~'

'I'd like to see what happens if we mixed your blood with hers.' Her eyes flashed like bright sapphires and I could see the gears moving in her head.

"You are already familiar with Viridis, he-" before Cross could finish Seika was gone in a flash with a yip tackling a boy who appeared about my age.

"Viri~" Our dear Kitsune was wiggling in her elder brothers arms even as dark green eyes met mine with a wink. I suppressed a shudder, he had hit thirteen and gotten rather....hormonal. For the last year he has been here with his younger sister, and elder brother Dragon. I had only met the eldest brother Aoi twice, and Dragons elder twin only once. As they were both male heirs they stayed busy, Viridis had awhile before he would have to take such responsibilities. "You've gotten so good at hiding your scent~" Seika giggled even as he hugged her with a smile, and luckily I was completely forgotten about.

"I promised didn't I?!" He laughed carefree with his sister, "I am gonna protect my little sister with our big brothers!" Seika had quickly won the hearts of Dragons whole clan. She had them all wrapped completely around her little paws, Syrena their mother and Bartek her mate. Only Viridis was Barteks blood child, but that did not matter in Dragon society supposedly.

"Seems like you even brought help now Kit." She laughed at my words even as her brother swung her up into a bridal carry. Even I felt tiny in this group, around four and a half feet tall myself but at least Seika was shorter. I comforted myself with the thought and reminded myself everything was planned out. I took a deep breath as we rounded the last corner heading to our room.
