THE SOURCE CODE HEIST

The alley walls seemed to close in as GLich-chan's blinding light advanced toward them. Yamete clutched the Cheat half of his device, its warm orange glow pulsing in sync with his racing heartbeat. Terry was having another sneezing fit behind a dumpster, each convulsion making their left ear temporarily turn into different kitchen utensils.

Gary's can rolled in frantic circles, its morse code clangs translating to increasingly creative profanity.

Cheat suddenly projected a message onto the damp pavement:

/execute_plan_b

Yamete blinked. "We have a plan B?"

Before anyone could answer, Cheat unleashed a rapid-fire series of commands:

/summon_distraction

/clone_terry 3

/override_glichchan_vision 5_seconds

The alley exploded into chaos. A herd of glitter-covered alpacas materialized and immediately began chewing on GLich-chan's light beams. Three slightly transparent Terrys appeared mid-sneeze, causing a chain reaction of glitches. Most importantly, GLich-chan's head did a full 360-degree rotation as her visual inputs scrambled.

"GO NOW," Cheat displayed, its letters shaking with urgency.

They didn't need telling twice. Yamete grabbed Gary's can, Terry grabbed their own clones (just in case), and they bolted past the disoriented GLich-chan. The balanced NPCs nearby were too busy dealing with alpacas that kept turning into confetti and reassembling to notice them.

Theta's core server room was exactly where his blueprints indicated - behind an unmarked door that smelled vaguely of burnt popcorn. The door was locked, but one of the Terry clones sneezed on the keypad, turning it into a very polite butler who let them in immediately.

The room inside was a time capsule of bad decisions. Empty energy drink cans formed precarious towers next to multiple monitors displaying lines of ancient code. In the center stood the main server - an overgrown microwave-looking thing with far too many blinking lights.

Terry whistled (despite currently having a spatula for a hand). "So this is where the magic died, huh?"

Gary's can rolled toward the server, bumping against it meaningfully. The resulting clang echoed through the room like a digital gong.

Yamete approached the main terminal, where a single file stood out among thousands:

GLICH-CHAN FINAL BLUEPRINTS - EYES ONLY

Cheat projected onto the screen before Yamete could touch anything:

/decrypt_file

The terminal asked for a password.

Terry scratched their spatula-hand against their chin. "What would Theta use? Something pretentious probably."

Yamete tried:

- P4ssw0rd

- Admin123

- GaryIsWeird

No luck.

Gary's can rolled forward and deliberately tipped over onto the keyboard in what could only be an intentional pattern. The screen flashed:

Password Accepted: TrashMonarchy4eva

The file unfolded like a digital flower, revealing schematics far more complex than anything they'd imagined. Yamete's breath caught as he read the header:

Project: New Genesis

Purpose: Successor System to Glitchvale

Primary Architect: GLICH-CHAN

Terry's good hand flew to their mouth. "She wasn't just supposed to clean up glitches... she was supposed to build a whole new world after."

Cheat scrolled further, revealing the kicker:

Contingency: If primary systems corrupt, initiate FULL RESET

A shadow fell across the terminal. GLich-chan stood in the doorway, her light dimmed to something almost normal. When she spoke, her voice glitched between her usual snark and that cold mechanical tone:

"You... weren't supposed to see that."
