A Deal

Amyra opened her eyes. She was no longer in that cell, she was on a comfortable bed, an IV drop attached to her left hand and with a starting realization that came upon her_ everything was just a dream that would always stay in her wishful thoughts.

The last thing she recalled was waiting for that man to arrive. She must have fainted_ wait!

She sat up immediately looking worried_ she could feel that aura again. She looked to her right and indeed, he was standing there leaning his lean frame against the French window. His clear distinctive eyes as usual bottomless and unfathomable bored right into her. It made her feel that he could see through her like some sort of x-ray.

'You?'

He in question walked towards her in response, the sound of his footsteps echoing in her ears making her heart beat erratically.

'Who else? You wanted to talk to me earlier, right?' Calhoun replied in his low lazy drawl.

She had been out for eight hours now. She just looked at him in response.

'Here's the deal, once you tell me everything you know, I'll let you and your mom off. I'll even forget that I've met you before. In the end we both get what we want.' he stated his terms.

'And what if I don't?' she was now looking at him her face blank. He was now standing right next to her, hands in pockets and bending such that they are at eye level.

He smiled at her brave attempt, 'then _'

he left his speech hanging for a while before adding, 'I can't guarantee what happens for sure.'

At this moment she was secretly wishing her dream earlier was real_life was truly so unfair, some people were blessed with everything while the rest had nothing. She had always wanted to be in showbiz but she didn't want her mom to be worried. In fact, she had several opportunities but she simply rejected them, choosing to have a simple life without mishaps that come with fame.

But now she realised that the weak will always be trampled on, had she had power, there is no way this man could dare to cross her like this. On the contrary, she would be able to punish him_ just like in her dream, life was truly frustrating.

'Do we have a deal?' The man's magnetic voice pulled her out of her reverie.

'I have no objection as long as you forget we even ever met.'

'I am a man of my words.' Calhoun replied and just like that she gave him the address.

'But until I find her you can not leave this place.' Calhoun informed her before he left.

Amyra let out a sigh of relief_ hopefully her mother would be safe.
