Chapter 66: Peerless Sword!!

Though Alex had only wielded his Magneto's ability for a couple of years, relentless training had skyrocketed his power. Naturally, his Magneto's ability had grown sharper, too.

With his ability in full swing, Ming Jing, caught off guard, was at a severe disadvantage. She could barely grip the Peerless Sword, let alone swing it in a fight.

Swish!

While manipulating the Peerless Sword with his magnetic ability, Alex coated his White Dragon Sword in Armament Haki, transforming it into a dazzling streak of light. The intricate moves of Dugu Nine Swords aimed on Ming Jing's chest.

Elusive as a shadow, the sword's path was impossible to predict, leaving no room to counter.

Panicked, Ming Jing poured every ounce of her inner strength into action, struggling to raise the Peerless Sword.

But how could she lift a blade that felt like it weighed a ton? The Peerless Sword's trajectory was too slow to block the White Dragon Sword in time!

"Grandma!" The ten-year-old girl beside her, Mingyue, saw the danger and cried out. In a flash, she hurled her dagger at Alex.

Infused with inner strength, the dagger cut through the air with the force to shatter stone.

Mingyue's quick thinking and precise choice were spot-on.

Sensing the incoming dagger, Alex had no interest in trading blows with Ming Jing. He turned, focusing on the projectile.

With a flick of his ability, an invisible force seized the dagger, halting it mid-air before him.

Ding!

It all happened in a split second. As Alex diverted his focus to stop Mingyue's dagger, his hold on the Peerless Sword weakened. Ming Jing, channeling her inner strength, fought against the crushing weight and managed to swing the Peerless Sword across her chest, just in time to block the White Dragon Sword's strike.

But in close combat, a single move was just the start.

After his sword was parried, Alex's jet-black White Dragon Sword twisted, tracing a mysterious arc. It struck at Ming Jing again from an impossible angle.

Alex's magnetic ability toyed with the Peerless Sword, making it lurch unpredictably—down, up, forward, backward, left, right…

Under his control, the Peerless Sword became as unruly as a wild child.

Ming Jing could barely hold onto it, much less use it to fight.

Coupled with Alex's relentless Dugu Nine Swords, she was overwhelmed, pushed back by his onslaught. It looked like her defeat was only a matter of time.

So what if she's got 350 crystal points? Anyone wielding a weapon is no match for me…

Alex's power completely overpowered Ming Jing. His fierce Dugu Nine Swords forced her to retreat, giving him the upper hand. A smirk crept into his thoughts.

Though his crystal points were just over 170, his enhanced physique and Armament Haki made him a threat even to martial artists nearing 300 crystal points—especially since Ming Jing wielded a metal weapon.

"Ming Yue, let's go!" Ming Jing, stunned by Alex's magnetic ability and unnerved by his unfamiliar martial prowess, knew she'd lose if the fight dragged on. With no choice, she called to the girl beside her.

A temporary loss didn't define a warrior. This was Peerless City. Once she regrouped and rallied more fighters, there'd be plenty of ways to deal with Alex.

"Want to leave? A bit late for that, don't you think?" Alex's lips curved slightly as he saw Ming Jing and Mingyue leap out the window to flee.

If they were bold enough to come after him, they should've been ready to pay the price.

With a thought, Alex stretched out his palm toward Ming Jing mid-air. His ability surged, yanking the Peerless Sword back toward him.

Ming Jing, still clutching the sword as she jumped, was dragged backward by its pull, sucked straight toward Alex.

"How is this possible!? What kind of technique is this guy using? It's too bizarre!" Ming Jing's heart raced, gripped by the strange, invisible force she couldn't resist.

Splatter!

Blood sprayed as Alex's White Dragon Sword slashed Ming Jing's wrist. If she hadn't released the sword in time, the strike might've severed her hand.

The pain was excruciating, and Ming Jing could no longer hold the Peerless Sword.

The blade, almost alive with spirit, flew straight into Alex's grasp.

"Let's go!" Outmatched even with the Peerless Sword, and now disarmed, Ming Jing was horrified. Gritting her teeth, she grabbed Mingyue and bolted again.

This time, with no metal on her, Alex's ability had no hold. He watched her flee but didn't give chase.

"Peerless Sword…" Ignoring Ming Jing's escape, Alex lowered his gaze to the blade in his hand.

Its gleaming surface shimmered with a faint, precious glow, clearly no ordinary weapon. In quality, it outclassed his White Dragon Sword by at least two tiers—a true legendary artifact, one of Storm Riders' famed treasures.

But lingering in Peerless City to study the Peerless Sword was a bad idea. Ming Jing wouldn't let the loss slide. Once Peerless City's forces mobilized, Alex would be in deep trouble.

Better to slip out of Peerless City ASAP.

For Alex, the Peerless Sword was his prize now. No way was he giving up a trophy he'd claimed.

He glanced at his palm, where the computer pattern was nearly complete. In two or three months, he'd likely leave the Storm Riders plane. Even if he ditched the World Alliance, he wouldn't sweat their pursuit.

No time to wait for Ming Jing to rally a posse of masters. Alex tidied up and activated his invisibility ability.

The air shimmered faintly, and his figure vanished in an instant.

Using invisibility, Alex slipped out of the inn and fled Peerless City under the cover of night.

The invisibility ability, copied back in the apocalypse, still proved clutch in tight spots. In the One Piece world, without it, he, Lily, and even Law might've fallen to Vergo.

In just a short while, Ming Jing returned, backed by dozens of martial artists who surrounded the inn.

In the shadows, a figure stepped forward and half-knelt before Ming Jing.

"Any sign of Alex escaping?" Ming Jing demanded, her face twisted with fury.

"No worries, Lord Ming Jing. The four of us kept watch. Not even a fly slipped out of that inn," the kneeling man replied with confidence.
