Chapter 7: "Lawyer"

The "Lawyer" Beyonder ability had three aspects. The first was the strengthening of spirituality. The second was excellent logical reasoning and the ability derived from it to dissect information and grasp key points.

The third ability, and the core ability of the "Lawyer," was "Extraordinary Eloquence."

This granted an extraordinary ability in eloquence and persuasion, and could to a certain extent distort or guide the target's thinking, making one feel amiable and willing to believe.

As a Primarch, he was destined to conquer Voss-Toria.

Of course, not all Primarchs conquered their initial worlds. Even Horus, before his gene-memory awakened, was just a gang leader and did not unify Cthonia.

After awakening, he returned to the Imperium.

Regardless of the situation of other Primarchs, Nimrod had already decided to conquer Voss-Toria and, if the opportunity arose, expand to other planets.

At the same time, he had to climb the sequence pathway, starting with acting as a "Lawyer" to digest the potion.

After drinking the potion, it wouldn't be fully absorbed immediately. To gain all the power it contained, one needed to engage in acting.

During acting, one needed to start from the potion's name, interpret it, and grasp its core symbols and specific imagery.

Nimrod believed that acting as a "Lawyer" didn't necessarily mean pursuing the literal profession.

Benefiting from rules was acting as a "Lawyer." If one could find loopholes in the rules and exploit them, the acting effect would be even better.

Whether his interpretation was correct would be known in due time. The digestion through acting was something a Beyonder could definitely sense.

[Based on my understanding from my previous life and what I've seen and heard in Tetzvok, the only rule in the underhive is that matters within a dome are decided by the Arbitrator, and there are no rules outside the domes.]

Thinking this, Nimrod immediately formulated his next plan of action.

[Just like before, quickly occupy the factory.

If the Arbitrator intervenes, use "Extraordinary Eloquence" to persuade him.]

With this in mind, he called Rolfslev and inquired about the situation of the Hantexi Dome.

He chose the largest factory in the dome as his target—the Magneto Steelworks. All the factories within the dome relied on its steel production.

The plasteel composite material produced by Magneto—Mittal Steel—even flowed into the upper hive as a material for manufacturing carapace armor.

Controlling the steelworks was "Iron Fist" Gorsk, who had over a thousand thugs under his command.

Nimrod also learned about Tetzvok's timekeeping. A day on Voss-Toria, like on other hive worlds, was called a work cycle.

Each work cycle was 33 hours long, divided into three shifts: the Whitey Shift, the Curie Shift, and the Night Kay Shift.

Workers in the upper hive followed a strict three-shift system.

The working hours of factories in the underhive varied, but were generally longer than in the upper hive.

Nimrod decided to launch his attack at the end of the Night Kay Shift. Although the workers' schedules were irregular, the guards worked in three shifts.

And their last hour before the shift change was also the time when the star, obscured by industrial dust, rose—their most lax moment.

In the second to last hour of the Night Kay Shift, Nimrod stood on a high platform, lightly tapping his brow twice, and looked down at the crowd.

A person's emotional state, the "astral body," would have some external manifestation.

Beyonders with spirit vision could judge the other person's health and emotional state through the different thickness, brightness, and color of their aura.

He had checked his own physical state before, and now he was observing the overall emotions of others.

Most psychics also possessed this ability. The Thousand Sons called it aetheric sight.

Nimrod scanned the crowd. Unsurprisingly, the main color of everyone's aura was a heavy black—they feared him.

Among them, some people, especially Rolfslev and others who had eaten well before, had a hint of light orange anticipation mixed in their aura.

He tapped his brow twice again, closed his spirit vision, and then spoke.

"You should have understood these past two days that more work means more reward, but you don't know how much you can get."

"In the past, you followed your bosses, fighting to the death, and in the end, you only got some scraps to eat, and most of the time you didn't even get enough."

"Things will be different in the future. As long as you are capable, you can eat anything. Today, I brought back giant rats and Lhas-Felt."

Nimrod's tone became low, tempting the crowd.

"Think about it, a bite of rat meat, a gulp of Lhas-Felt."

The subordinates were attracted by the scene depicted by the newly advanced "Lawyer." Corresponding images involuntarily appeared in their minds, and they subconsciously swallowed their saliva.

Rolfslev was the first to raise his head, his eyes full of desire.

Influenced by him, the surrounding people also raised their heads.

Finally, everyone looked at their boss with a hopeful light in their eyes.

Nimrod raised his hand and waved it forcefully. "Move out!"

"Seize the Magneto Steelworks, eat meat and drink wine!"

Everyone shouted狂热ly, "Seize the Magneto Steelworks, eat meat and drink wine!"

Seeing everyone turn around, Nimrod withdrew his arm and lightly tapped his brow twice.

As expected, he found that everyone's emotions had changed. The dominant color of their aura had become the red of passionate excitement.

An hour later, rapid gunfire rang out at the Magneto Steelworks.

After killing the guards at the entrance, Nimrod was the first to rush into the factory. He immediately saw a tall, bearded man on a metal platform staring intently at him.

The sleeve of his right arm was rolled up, revealing his steel prosthetic.

"Nimrod."

Gorsk's tone was certain. He spat.

"Kid, you were able to kill 'Vulture.' You do have some skill."

"But I'm not trash like 'Vulture.' Today, I'll capture you, enjoy myself, and then sell you to the upper hive."

His response was a beam of light shooting towards him. Gorsk saw Nimrod raise his gun and thought it was bad. He only had time to block his body with his steel right arm.

Amidst a sharp and crisp sizzling sound, a large hole was shot through the steel arm, revealing the copper wires and steel plates inside.

"You little brat, you dare to ambush me!"

As Gorsk swung his arm, he clenched his fist forcefully. His steel fist spun and shot towards Nimrod.

He had relied on the mechanical arm he bought at a high price from the Fend family to ambush and kill several strong individuals in the underhive.

Gorsk knew Nimrod's shooting was accurate. He had almost been killed by a single shot just now. He directly used his iron fist killing move, something he only used against the strongest enemies.

Nimrod held the lasgun in his left hand and rapidly drew the chainsword with his right, activating it with a roar.

The structure of the mechanical construct he had previously acquired knowledge of flashed in his mind. He immediately thrust the chainsword upwards, the blade directly piercing the junction of the mechanical structure's connecting rod and joint.

The transmission device drove the iron fist forward, but it was stuck by the chainsword.

Two high-speed rotating forces, with nearly perpendicular directions, interacted with each other. After a few seconds, the iron fist detached from the connecting rod and fell to the ground.

Gorsk was shocked and turned to run.

He had only taken one step when a bright beam of light shot into the back of his head.

One work cycle later, Nimrod controlled the Magneto Steelworks.

His subordinates not only didn't decrease but increased. After incorporating some of "Iron Fist's" thugs, he had nearly six hundred combat personnel under his command.

Nimrod personally led two hundred of his men into the tunnels, hunting over four hundred giant rats. Fifty of them were exchanged for over a hundred bottles of Lhas-Felt.

While the meat soup was simmering, he said to everyone,

"As I said, everyone who participated in this battle will have enough meat and a cup of wine."

"Those who just joined will only get soup. If you want to eat meat and drink wine, work hard next time."

He activated spirit vision and observed everyone's auras. He found that his original subordinates had warm, satisfied orange auras, and the look in their eyes had changed from fear to awe.

The newly recruited men had auras of fear mixed with hope and envy.

Nimrod nodded in satisfaction. He felt his spirituality had become more active.

[Acting as a "Lawyer" was successful. A portion of the potion has been digested.]

Then he went to the control room, locked the door, and with a thought, black mist rose, his spirituality lightened, his "astral body" left his physical form, and in an instant, he arrived in the "Country of Disorder."

The acting and absorption of the potion involve the extraordinary characteristics within the potion, enhancing spirituality and extraordinary abilities.

For example, the digestion of "Lawyer" lies in utilizing rules, especially loopholes in rules. Of course, gaining the approval of others will increase the digestion progress. The Chaos minor god Maris has a very high rank and powerful strength. However, being inherently chaotic and relying on brute force without involving order or rules, he would never be able to digest the "Lawyer" potion. Conversely, an ordinary lawyer might be able to digest it from the preparation to the conclusion of a major case (planetary level), while a member of the legal department might take ten days, and a member of the internal affairs department might take a month or so.
