Late Night – Hokage's Office

"Old man, you should rest."

Tsunade glanced at the exhausted Sarutobi Hiruzen and offered her advice.

"Indeed, Hiruzen. Leave things to us."

Shimura Danzō, though inwardly pleased, wore a mask of concern for his old friend.

"I'm fine."

Hiruzen waved his hand dismissively. "I am a father, but above all, I am the Hokage. Personal feelings will not interfere with my duty to Konoha."

Danzō's expression stiffened.

Hokage, Hokage—damn it all!

"This incident cannot be concealed. We must issue a public statement."

Hiruzen sighed as he reviewed the documents before him.

Aside from the missing Uchiha clansmen, every other ninja had perished.

Konoha's combat strength had diminished by at least 10%.

"As for Uchiha Sasuke—"

Before Hiruzen could finish, Danzō interrupted.

"Leave him to me!"

A dangerous glint flashed in his eye. "There's no guarantee Sasuke won't become another Uchiha Itachi. Let Root take him. I will forge him into a blade loyal to Konoha—one that will never betray us."

Itachi's Mangekyō Sharingan was too formidable.

Whether Sasuke had the same potential or not, it was best to keep him under control.

Besides, with Sasuke in hand, Danzō would hold leverage over Itachi—ensuring he wouldn't wake up one night to those cursed eyes staring down at him.

"Hmph. Handing him to you would only ruin another prodigy."

Hiruzen's voice turned steely. "Sasuke's life will continue as usual. I will find him a proper teacher."

"Hiruzen, you—"

"I won't regret this decision."

Hiruzen cut him off coldly, then demanded, "As for your unsanctioned actions—do you have anything to say for yourself?"

Danzō blinked, thrown off.

Since when did Hiruzen start interrupting me?

But he had no time to dwell on it.

"Everything I did was for Konoha!" he declared righteously.

"Enough! Konoha is not a tool for your personal schemes!"

Hiruzen, already furious over Sarutobi Seiunosuke's death, snapped. "Effective immediately, Root is disbanded!"

"What?!"

Danzō's heart lurched. "I refuse to accept this!"

"Furthermore, you are relieved of your positions as Root's leader and Hokage Advisor. Retire quietly, Danzō."

Hiruzen's face was stone, offering no mercy.

Beside them, Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura exchanged shocked glances.

They hadn't seen Hiruzen act so decisively in years.

"Hiruzen?!"

Danzō's voice was thick with disbelief. "I've bled for Konoha! I've sacrificed everything! You can't do this!"

Hiruzen remained unmoved.

"You'll regret this, Hiruzen!"

With a final snarl, Danzō stormed out, his face darker than the night itself.

Danzō's Revenge

Once outside the Hokage Tower, Danzō vanished with a Body Flicker, reappearing in Root's hidden base.

"Lord Danzō."

Several figures knelt before him.

"Yakushi, infiltrate the Sarutobi compound."

Danzō's voice was icy. "Eliminate Hiruzen's grandson. Make it clean."

If one dead son wasn't enough to break you…

Then let's see how you handle losing your unborn grandson too.

"Shimura, spread the word."

Danzō continued his orders. "Claim the Uchiha massacre began because they kidnapped and murdered Sarutobi Seiunosuke."

He refused to believe Hiruzen could withstand this.

The man cared too much about his reputation.

With rumors mixing truth and lies, public trust in him would crumble.

Threefold psychological assault. If he still clings to power after this…

Then I'll admit defeat.

"Hiruzen, you brought this upon yourself."

Danzō closed his eye and issued his final command.

"Send for Orochimaru."

Senju Residence – Past Midnight

Sasame yawned, waiting for Tsunade's return.

It was nearly 2 AM.

What could possibly take this long?

"Why aren't you asleep in your room?"

Tsunade opened the door, finding him curled on the sofa.

"Waiting for you."

Rubbing his eyes, Sasame mumbled, "Any longer, and I'd have passed out."

A warm feeling bloomed in Tsunade's chest.

No matter how late, someone's always here…

This is nice.

"Sorry. Too much happened tonight."

She walked over and nudged him. "Go to bed. I'll shower first."

"Carry me."

Sasame refused to budge from the couch.

In his past life, this would've been impossible.

But here? Tsunade was a superhuman powerhouse.

"Acting like a child now?"

She rolled her eyes—yet obediently bent down, sliding her arms under him.

A true princess carry.

Warm. Secure.

Then, without warning—she hurled him onto the bed.

So much for grace.

"This woman…!"

Sasame grimaced.

Morning After

Half an hour later, Tsunade finally joined him, clad in a white nightgown, her hair loose and dry.

Without her usual stern aura, she looked almost… soft.

She turned off the light.

Instantly, Sasame wrapped his arms around her.

Instead of pushing him away, Tsunade exhaled, feeling the day's exhaustion melt away.

…This is nice.

Nuzzling against him, she drifted into sleep.

Dawn of Chaos

By morning, news of the Uchiha massacre had spread like wildfire, shaking Konoha to its core.

Villagers and clans alike were stunned.

The Uchiha's strength was undisputed—even their detractors acknowledged it.

Yet they'd been wiped out overnight, leaving only Sasuke behind.

How was this possible?

[Due to your actions, the fate of Sarutobi Konohamaru has changed. You have earned 100 Fate Points.]

[Due to your actions, the fate of Sarutobi Hiruzen has changed. You have earned 80 Fate Points.]

Sasame jolted awake at the system's chime.

Konohamaru too? What now—

"Lady Tsunade!"

The door slammed open as Shizune rushed in—

—only to freeze.

Tsunade, still half-asleep, had her face pressed against Sasame's, arms wrapped around him.

"I—I—I'm sorry!"

Shizune's face burned crimson. She bowed so hard her glasses nearly flew off, then fled.

I should've knocked!

"…?"

Tsunade turned to stone.

Three seconds later, her entire face exploded in red.

Just let the earth swallow me whole.

"Uh…"

Before Sasame could speak—

THUD!

A single punch sent him flying into the wall.
