The blue pathway faded as Alex and Verwel reached the base of the spiraling structure. Unlike the central spire, this structure pulsed with a soft, green light, the same color as some of the energy currents that flowed through the main chamber. The symbols adorning its surface seemed to ripple and shift with a slower, more deliberate rhythm than those on the spire.
As Alex approached, an opening materialized in the structure's base – not a doorway in the traditional sense, but a distortion in the obsidian, like looking through heat haze. A wave of green energy washed over him, and he felt a resonant hum build within his core, different from the sensation he experienced with the basin of light, yet undeniably connected.
Verwel stepped through the opening without hesitation, his ears perked, his luminous eyes glowing with anticipation. Alex took a deep breath and followed.
The interior of the structure was another vast chamber, though with a noticeably different atmosphere. Where the first chamber felt like a space of flowing energy, this one felt like a place of echoes and reflections. The green light pulsed from the walls, casting long, distorted shadows that seemed to mimic their movements. Strange, concave depressions lined the walls, each filled with a swirling mist that shifted and reformed constantly.
In the center of the chamber, a low platform of obsidian rose from the floor. Upon it rested a series of crystalline bowls, each filled with a viscous, silvery liquid that shimmered with an internal light. The air here thrummed with a low, resonant frequency, and Alex felt a pull towards the bowls, a sense that they held the key to this chamber's teachings.
Verwel padded towards one of the depressions in the wall, his head tilted as if listening to something Alex couldn't hear. The mist within swirled more rapidly, and for a moment, Alex thought he saw a fleeting image within it – a forest, ancient and vast, its trees whispering secrets on the wind. Then it was gone, leaving only the swirling mist and Verwel's continued fascination.
Intrigued, Alex turned his attention back to the crystalline bowls. He approached the nearest one cautiously, extending a hand towards the shimmering liquid. The air around it vibrated, and he felt the resonant hum in the chamber intensify, as if the very room was waiting for him to touch it and unlock the next echo of the Keepers' wisdom.
