I.Folklore Narrative
They say that in ZN-13, deep within the dense forests of Norman, lies a forgotten village named Nare. No one knows exactly when it was established; only that its inhabitants have lived in complete isolation, without internet, without cell signal—and almost no one ever leaves.
But what makes this place truly terrifying are the dreams.
Locals whisper tales of an invisible entity that appears only when one sleeps. It has no fixed shape, no definitive name, but everyone knows it by a chilling nickname carried by the wind: "The Dream Killer."
According to the stories, if someone dreams of the village of Nare, they will not wake up whole. In the dream, the entity can tear the victim apart, gouge out their eyes, or cast them into an endless abyss of darkness. And whatever happens in that dream… manifests identically on the victim's real body.
The survivors—if any—return completely deranged, unable to describe what they saw. They only repeat a single phrase, over and over again:"It won't let me wake up… It's sitting right on my chest…"

II. Identification Number – Designation
Designation: NOR-DREAMKILLER-004
Common Name: The Dream Killer, The Nightmare Weaver, The Sleepless Entity
Recorded Activity Area: ZN-13 – Nare Village A secluded village, where victims experience encounters with this entity in their dreams, leading to death or severe psychological complications.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. Threat Classification
Level: Veil Class – Tier IV This entity falls under Veil Class due to its ability to remain undetected and inaccessible through conventional methods. Its existence is primarily in the dream world, but when a victim is harmed in the dream, physical wounds will manifest in the real world, making it a frightening threat. It possesses the ability to lure, control, and injure victims with just a few haunting nightmares, making escape nearly impossible.
Threat Level: High Once a victim is caught in the cycle of dreams created by this entity, they are not only attacked but are also subjected to lasting psychological torment. The injuries caused may be irreversible, and its presence can lead to continuous nightmares.
Presence: Extremely Rare Although it only appears in a single location, Nare, its danger is significant because anyone who sleeps there can fall victim. These cases are extremely rare, but they should not be taken lightly.

V. Observation Log
Monitoring Status: Start - 11:00 PM, May 15, 2024
Agent B. Ellis, NOR Organization, ZN-13:For the first time in Zone ZN-13, at the village of Nare, strange signs began appearing when a research team of 3 individuals mysteriously disappeared. Prior to their disappearance, they had been reporting strange experiences in their dreams. The physical wounds they described were identical to those they suffered in their dreams, even though no weapon or physical assailant was found.
Preliminary Report from CRRT (Specialist Analysis and Supernatural Phenomenon Unit):After gathering testimonies from survivors, we identified a recurring pattern in the victims' dreams. The wounds they sustained in the dream manifested more clearly, and worsened as they awoke. Witnesses described the sensation of being "torn apart" from within the dream – something that current scientific theories cannot explain.
Agent T. Richart, NOR Organization, ZN-13:I conducted direct observations for a 48-hour period. The victims showed no signs of psychological trauma prior to being attacked in their dreams. Instead, a terrifying nightmare led them into a state of panic. These signs matched those we had previously collected from past cases.
May 20, 2024 - Enhanced Monitoring Status
Report from ND (Backup Unit):We deployed a special team into Zone ZN-13 to monitor the activities of "The Dream Killer." Within 3 days, 4 fatalities were confirmed. The injuries to the bodies of the victims mirrored what they experienced in their dreams, indicating an escalating level of danger.
Test Subject - Prisoner ███ (Codename: Subject 07):Subject 07 was selected for experimentation in a controlled sleep environment. Despite being instructed to avoid any external stimuli, the subject still reported being attacked in their dreams, and physical wounds appeared in the real world.
Report from ISU (Security and Prevention Unit):We detected signs of greater disruption in the nightmares. However, controlling or halting these dreams remains unfeasible. Specifically, the ability to be injured in the dream is severely affecting the mental and physical health of survivors, making them prime targets for future attacks.
May 25, 2024 - Critical Incident
Agent ███, NOR High Council Member:A critical incident occurred at Nare village. During the investigation, a team of agents, including 3 members, among them ███, a member of NOR's High Council, was attacked by the villagers. These individuals were unable to distinguish between the real world and the dream world due to the influence of "The Dream Killer."
Report from CRRT (Specialist Analysis and Supernatural Phenomenon Unit):The primary cause of death for Agent ███ and the two other agents was the villagers' inability to distinguish between reality and illusion. When they were attacked in the dream world, they could not recognize the difference between the real world and the dream world. They assaulted the agents, causing the team to lose control and resulting in the deaths of those attacked.
Report from DOC (Investigation and Observation Unit):This demonstrates the extreme danger of "The Dream Killer." The villagers were so profoundly affected that they could no longer differentiate between reality and their hallucinations. The deaths of NOR members have proven that, without effective preventive measures, the organization will face severe risks in managing and containing this entity.
Notes from Relevant Departments:
CCU (Creature Control and Containment Unit):Each interaction with the entity seems to alter the dream patterns, which appears to be a critical factor in the creature's survival. Further research is needed into how "The Dream Killer" approaches its victims and potential preventive measures.
ND (Backup Unit):To minimize casualties, agent teams need to be trained to recognize the distinction between the real world and the dream world. This will be a key factor in dealing with "The Dream Killer" and preventing unnecessary harm.
DOC (Investigation and Observation Unit):We are currently investigating the factors that prevent the villagers from distinguishing between reality and their hallucinations. This not only affects their safety but also poses a serious threat to those outside the village, including NOR agents.

VI. Time & Conditions of Appearance Date of Discovery:
May 10, 2024: The entity, later identified as "The Dream Killer," was first encountered during a routine patrol near the village of Nare in Zone ZN-13, Norman. It was suspected to be tied to the phenomenon where dreams manifested as physical injuries in the waking world.
Time of Occurrence:
The "Dream Killer" predominantly appears during the night, particularly between 11:00 PM and 3:00 AM. Victims are most susceptible during deep sleep cycles, particularly REM sleep, when their body and mind are most vulnerable. However, encounters have been reported at any time the subject is within a deeply unconscious state.
High Risk Periods:
Full Moon Phases: Increased reports of the "Dream Killer" activity during the full moon. Survivors claim their dreams are especially vivid and intense, making it easier for the entity to manipulate their dreams.
High Stress or Emotional Turmoil: Individuals under significant psychological stress or emotional distress are at heightened risk. The "Dream Killer" targets individuals who are weak in their emotional or psychological state, making them more likely to experience intense and deadly dreams.
Environmental Conditions for Manifestation:
Physical Location:
The "Dream Killer" is most active in isolated locations, specifically villages or towns with low populations. The quieter and more secluded the environment, the more likely the entity is to target individuals living there. It is believed that these quiet locations increase the likelihood of an undisturbed sleep, where the entity can invade the dream realm.
Pre-existing Supernatural Conditions:
Reports indicate that places with previous violent history or tragedy have a higher likelihood of the "Dream Killer" manifesting. Such environments seem to weaken the boundaries between the real world and the dream world, providing the entity a foothold.
Weather Conditions: Stormy nights with heavy rain or high winds often accompany its appearances. Some survivors have reported hearing faint whispers or strange noises during these nights, potentially indicating the entity's proximity.
Connection to Local Legends and Folk Tales:
The "Dream Killer" appears to be linked to local myths and legends that speak of curses tied to dreams. The village of Nare, where its presence was first recorded, has a long history of rumors about a spirit that haunts the dreams of those who sleep under its sky. The entity might feed on these superstitions, amplifying its power.
Unique Phenomenon:
It is believed that the "Dream Killer" operates in a realm where the rules of reality no longer apply. The physical injuries sustained in the dream world manifest as real-life wounds. This ability allows the creature to kill or maim individuals without ever needing to interact physically with them.
Dream-induced Injury:Victims report "dream-induced pain", with injuries such as cuts, bruises, and broken bones that feel incredibly real. These injuries appear in the waking world immediately after being inflicted in the dream realm.
Temporal Disruptions:
Time Distortion: Some individuals have reported experiencing time distortions, where the events of their dreams feel as though they are happening in real time, causing extreme psychological disorientation. There have been reports of victims waking up from dreams, only to find the injuries they sustained in the dream world had already occurred.
Conditions for Safety:
Sleep Control and Monitoring: The best method of preventing "The Dream Killer's" attacks is to maintain control over sleep patterns. Individuals are advised to use sleep-inducing techniques, such as controlled breathing, to stay in lighter stages of sleep. Sleep deprivation has been shown to decrease the chances of being attacked.
High-Alert Monitoring: Villages like Nare are under constant surveillance by NOR agents who keep track of sleep patterns and the appearance of the entity. However, despite continuous monitoring, no permanent solution has been found to break the cycle of the "Dream Killer."
Current Research by NOR:
Ongoing studies by NOR's ND (Nightmares Division) are focused on understanding the mechanism behind the entity's power to affect both the dream world and the physical world. The ultimate goal is to devise a way to protect civilians from the entity's influence while minimizing civilian casualties.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
VII. Containment and Avoidance Current Status:
Uncontainable. High risk of recurrence. The Dream Killer remains active within Zone ZN-13, primarily centered around the village of Nare. The NOR Organization has found no evidence suggesting the entity has spatial limits within dreamscapes. All current measures are damage control and behavioral monitoring rather than full containment.
1. Civilian Avoidance Protocols:
Level 3 alerts have been issued to all residents of Nare.
Civilians are instructed to never sleep alone, and to wear NOR-issued sleep monitoring devices (DREM-W01 units).
Local radio stations broadcast intermittent alpha-wave sound patterns designed to interfere with dream activity and reduce the entity's frequency of manifestation.
Sedatives or psychoactive substances are strictly discouraged, as they significantly increase vulnerability by deepening the REM state, where the entity operates most powerfully.
2. NOR Containment Measures:
The ND (Nightmares Division) is deploying temporary psychological shielding in the form of level-II geometric cognitive inhibitors, placed in residential zones and embedded in select sleep devices.
Class D subjects are being utilized in dream-simulation chambers powered by the MORPHEUS System, in an effort to initiate controlled contact or detect behavioral patterns in the entity.
The ISU in coordination with DOC is currently mapping the dreamspace topology in Nare to identify spatial anchor points where the entity most frequently enters.
3. Warning Signs of Imminent Contact:
Experiencing disorientation within dreams, often accompanied by visions of Nare in a ruined, post-apocalyptic state, is considered a primary indicator of the entity's presence.
Encountering deceased loved ones who remain silent and stare is classified as one of the "activation sequences" employed by the entity.
Physical manifestations such as rapid breathing, shivering, cold sweats while in deep sleep may indicate that the subject is being targeted by the entity.
4. Protocols for NOR Agents and Researchers in ZN-13:
All personnel must be monitored during sleep cycles. Neural alert systems must remain active at all times.
Sleep sessions should not exceed 45 minutes to avoid entering prolonged REM phases.
Unauthorized use of dream-simulation equipment is strictly forbidden without direct clearance from the NOR High Council.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
VIII. Special Containment Procedures
Status: Physically uncontainable. Containment is only possible through indirect behavioral control, sleep monitoring, and cognitive suppression systems.
1. Establishment of High-Alert Zone – ZN-13
Zone ZN-13, encompassing the village of Nare and a 3km surrounding radius, is classified as a Type-IV Psychospiritual Interaction Zone.
Concealed NOR monitoring stations have been placed around the village, each equipped with alpha–kappa frequency disruptors designed to interfere with the entity's presence in dream-space.
2. Sleep Monitoring Devices
All individuals operating within ZN-13, including civilians and NOR agents, are required to wear DREM-W01 or its upgraded model DREM-WX, which includes the following functions:
Detect anomalies in brainwave frequency.
Emit high-frequency sound or vibrations upon signs of contact with the entity.
Log dream data for post-event analysis.
3. Emergency Protocol Upon Contact
If an individual is identified as entering a dream-reality convergence phase, the following actions must be taken:
Administer CT-A23 high-impact stimulant within 30 seconds of the first abnormal reading.
If the subject does not awaken, initiate a reverse dream simulation pulse to produce a cognitive backlash.
If no response is recorded within 90 seconds, designate the subject as a Confirmed Loss – Unrecoverable Victim.
4. Population Lockdown and Civilian Management
Entry into Zone ZN-13 is strictly restricted to personnel with Veil Clearance Level II or higher.
The local population is monitored by CRRT – Critical Response and Recon Team and is routinely instructed on how to recognize "dream-warning cues" and execute forced wake-up protocols.
Individuals showing long-term symptoms of contamination are subject to soft isolation and transferred to NOR observation facilities at Station ND–3A.
