CHAPTER 28: The Letter from the Dead

The city buzzed with scandal.

Jung Woo-sik was finished.Min-ho's stock skyrocketed.Hana became the face of survival and rebirth.

But peace was an illusion.

One morning, as Hana walked into the Kang estate study, a sealed envelope waited on her desk.

Faded.Yellowed at the edges. Her name in delicate handwriting.

Her mother's.

She froze.

Min-ho entered, frowning.

"What's wrong?"

Wordlessly, she handed him the letter.

He read it, his expression hardening with every line.

"Hana, if you're reading this, it means the worst has happened.I beg you, trust Min-ho's mother. She will protect you when I no longer can.And if you ever doubt yourself, marry into the Kang family. That is your shield. Your sword. Your revenge."

Hana's knees gave out.

Min-ho caught her before she hit the ground.

"Your mother knew," he whispered."She knew they would come for you."

Tears burned Hana's eyes.

"She... left me to them."

"No," Min-ho said fiercely."She left you the only weapon she could—me."

Hana clutched the letter to her chest.

"I never wanted this life."

Min-ho cupped her face gently.

"Neither did I.But now, it's ours."

In that moment, something between them cracked.

Something dangerous.

Something irreversible.

The line between business and obsession blurred.

And Hana understood.

She wasn't just Seo Hana, the broken heiress.

She was Kang Hana now.

Whether by marriage, blood... or war.
