Am I a mutant?

Upon seeing the measurement of innate soul power, Su Yuntao couldn't help but sigh inwardly. "The heavens really aren't fair," he thought bitterly.

After the brief awakening ceremony, Su Yuntao led the children out of the Soul Hall. Waiting outside, pacing nervously, was Old Jack.

"Soul Master, are there any children with soul power?" Old Jack asked, anxiety lacing his voice.

This time, Su Yuntao didn't act high and mighty. With a regretful shake of his head, he answered honestly, "Haah, Old Jack, there are two with potential. One of them possesses full innate soul power—level 10! The other has level 7. But… both of them awakened Blue Silver Grass. If only they had awakened something even slightly better, like a hoe or a sickle, they might become a Soul King—or even a Soul Emperor. Such a pity…"

Despite the disappointment in Su Yuntao's tone, Old Jack beamed with joy. "Full innate soul power… that's more than enough. If even one of them can become a Soul Master, it'll change their fate!"

After exchanging a few more words, Old Jack eagerly took the twins home, determined to convince their notoriously lazy father.

On the way back, Tang Yin appeared distracted. His eyes stared at the road, but his thoughts were elsewhere—immersed in the newly awakened powers coursing through him.

"The Body Martial Soul… of the Peerless Tang Sect… known as the strongest martial soul." Just thinking about it made his veins pulse with excitement, and his fist clenched subconsciously.

"This martial soul holds the greatest developmental potential, no doubt. But… what's this other one? This illusory martial soul… Could it be spiritual in nature? Like Huo Yuhao's Spirit Eyes or Hu Liena's Charming Fox? Mental-type attacks instead of physical?" Tang Yin's heart raced with excitement.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Tang Yin mused, "This luck of mine… is it normal? Did I really just awaken the Body Martial Soul and a spiritual-type martial soul? Am I the real protagonist here? An all-rounder powerhouse in the making! Still… I need to keep a low profile for now."

He steadied his breath and forced himself to focus. "Right. Alongside these martial souls… I've awakened three foreign abilities. Could this be my golden finger? These powers… they're not from this world."

The realization hit him like lightning. "These abilities… they're straight out of the X-Men universe! Take Healing Factor, for instance—that's likely derived from the Blue Silver King's life attribute. Energy absorption and conversion? That must tie into the Body Martial Soul. And telepathy with telekinesis… those are clearly linked to my spiritual martial soul."

He walked slower now, deep in thought.

Back in the Soul Hall earlier, he had deliberately suppressed his soul power to level 7with energy conversion power so the detection device wouldn't show his true innate potential.

"Insane… These abilities are top-tier. Almost all of them rank as Level 4 mutant powers. The Healing Factor alone could evolve into Omega class, and both energy absorption and telepathy could easily reach Alpha class!" Tang Yin calculated mentally as he and Old Jack approached their home—a run-down, barely-standing structure.

Gazing at the dilapidated house, Tang Yin felt no warmth or nostalgia. Only bitter memories lingered—the stench, the silence, the neglect. "Haah… I won't miss this place," he muttered as they stepped through the open doorway.

Inside, Tang Hao sat listlessly, hammering at some tools with droopy eyelids and a lethargic expression. Upon seeing him, Old Jack immediately lost his temper.

"Tang Hao!" he barked, teeth gritted. "Can't you at least pretend to be a proper father for once?"

Tang Hao ignored him entirely. With a lazy yawn, he finally addressed the twins. "What are your martial souls, Xiao San… Tang Yin?"

Tang Yin blinked, unimpressed, and replied dryly. "We both awakened Blue Silver Grass." He revealed only the minimum—his level 7 innate soul power. Beside him, Tang San nodded and summoned his own Blue Silver Grass. He hesitated, choosing not to reveal his second martial soul in front of Old Jack and his loudmouthed older brother.

Tang Hao stared at the blades of Blue Silver Grass without comment. His gaze then drifted toward Old Jack, who had launched into another impassioned speech.

"You can't let them waste away like you did!" Old Jack pleaded. "Send them to a Soul Master Academy. They still have a future. Don't bury their potential in this broken place!"

After several rounds of scolding and begging—accompanied by dramatic foot stomping—Old Jack finally stormed off, grumbling all the way.
