I am a loyal worker! 1

"...you want me to join the Marines?"

When Shinra thought to relax on Punk Hazard, unexpectedly, he got a call from the Five Elders. This time, it wasn't just Jaygarcia as the other four were also talking to him on the Den Den Mushi.

"That's right."

"...."

Taking a deep breath, Shinra asked, "Aren't I a member of the CP0?"

Frankly, as he had become a CP0, he didn't really want to become a Marine since it was far more relaxed to become an agent than the Marines.

As an agent, instead of going out on his own, his job was just to order his followers, managing them, or rather, he was simply the supervisor, which was good, as it was easy for him, especially with how hard-working his followers were.

"There are no rules that say an agent can't become a Marine. Also, even if there are rules, it doesn't really matter since I am the one who told you to become one." Jaygarcia was calm despite how domineering his words were.

"..."

Shinra knew that refusing was stupid, and it didn't match his character, which was obedient, yet how could he agree directly?

By then, what was his difference with those tools in the eyes of the Five Elders?

Instead, he wanted to make himself so valuable that they couldn't live without him!

Or rather, he would kick them out of their position, overthrow them as he planned to become the ruler of this world and colonize it.

Still, until that time, he would take his sweet time and let the Five Elders join their limited times.

"Did you think there were spies or something in the Marines?"

"As expected of you." Jaygarcia was satisfied with Shinra's response. "You could tell right away that there was a problem with the Marines."

"I can't think of another reason why you want me to become a Marine except for that, after all."

If there was a reason why Jaygarcia wanted him to become part of the Marines, it was because he felt there was a traitor inside this organization.

Still—

"You should have planted many agents inside, right? Aren't they enough?"

"Don't mention that trash to me! Their work is horrendous, and all they can do is just make trouble!"

Whether it was Jaygarcia, the Five Elders, or everyone in the World Government, they didn't really mind even if the ones that worked under them were corrupt and took some of the money for their own benefit, but under the premise that everything was okay!

The world had been in chaos after the Age of Pirates that started with Gold Roger, yet those shitty slaves were just like parasites, taking all of their money without working!

"You want me to clean them up?"

"Yes." Jaygarcia nodded. "I think that you are suitable for this."

"Thanks for the trust, but..."

"You don't have to worry. We have prepared a lot of rewards for you. When your child is born, we will also prepare the Devil Fruit for him or her."

"...by the way, I have made another woman pregnant."

"We will prepare two!"

"So generous! Thanks! As expected of you, boss! I will be loyal to you till death!"

"Hmph!" Jaygarcia only snorted, but his expression was comfortable as he was being fawned over by Shinra. "Still, take care of your lower body, you are too playful..."

"I will do my best to take care of my child by working hard under you, boss!"

"...that's not what I mean, but whatever." Jaygarcia sighed, thinking that Shinra was good and all, especially when Shinra showed his potential to defeat Kaidou on the Dressrosa Kingdom, and frankly, this part of him that had a certain bottom limit was something that wasn't hated, even though the Five Elders thought of him as nothing but a tool.

It was because Shinra still had a feeling that it was easy to control him, Jaygarcia thought.

"That said, did you really eat the Batto Batto no Mi, Model: Vampire?"

"Yes."

"...can you become immortal?"

"Immortal? Do you think the power of the Devil Fruit can break away the fate of humans who will die due to old age?" Shinra lied without batting an eye.

"Well, that's true." Jaygarcia sighed in relief when he heard Shinra's answer. "But it's amazing that you could defeat Kaidou."

"It was tough, though, and if possible, I don't want to fight him again, at least if I am alone. If I have one of the admirals to help me, then it should be okay."

"I like this part of you." Jaygarcia nodded since, instead of having a manly duel where their pride was being laid upon as they fought fairly, Shinra was a type that would do anything to become the victor. "But yes, don't fight like Kaidou again since without you, our work will increase dramatically."

"...I might retire early by then, Boss. It's too much work sometimes."

The work of the agents wasn't troublesome, but they were just too troublesome, as he often had to stay awake for a few days to maintain the work of those agents.

"Oh, no, even if you die, we will try to keep you alive."

"...you are joking, right, Boss? Can you just let me die quietly?"

"Hahaha..."

"..."

What was this?

Was this really the Five Elders?

Yet, the interaction between Shinra and one of the Five Elders, Jaygarcia, caused Stussy, Carina, and Robin to become speechless, especially Stussy, who had always thought of Jaygarcia as the highest being or even god, yet somehow, this god made a joke with Shinra, making her at a loss, but also felt relief for some reason.

"Oh, right, when you go to the Marine Headquarters to accept your position, try to visit the Water Seven, too."

"Water Seven? That island that almost sank, but is famous for its shipbuilding?"

"That's right." Jaygarcia nodded. "We have our agents working for so many years, trying to seek the blueprint for one of the ancient weapons, Pluto."

"Oh."

"...you are not surprised."

"Well, this weapon probably has the power to destroy an island or two? If I want to, I can do the same."

"...well, that's true."

"But, boss, do you have a budget to create this weapon? Even if we have the blueprint, it will be expensive to build, you know? There are also the problems of energy."

Considering the level of technology in this world, while there were some that were so high-tech like those in modern times, generally, more or less, this world had just about entered the steam age, where people would use coal as a source of energy.

With 99% of the world covered in water, how could one even think of getting coal?

"Hmm... you understand science, Shinra?"

"Well, while I am not at the level of the smartest man in the world, Vegapunk, I am not that bad."

"Then, I am relieved."

"...boss, you won't make me work on this project, right?"

"Why not?"

"...." Shinra.

"...you won't have enough money to pay me."

"What do you want?"

Shinra took a deep breath, then looked at Carina, who was staring at him with doubt.

"Boss, what if we make a business together?"

"Hmm?"
