Chapter 46: Divine Car Repair Skills

"Satellite telemetry relay stations... none nearby! Why is this? Argh... Crunch! Crunch!"

Originally, Magic Cube planned to use Dragon Country's pre-built satellite telemetry relay stations to transmit signals into space, but there were none nearby. This was truly "fantastic" luck. Frustrated, Magic Cube grabbed a piece of rare metal and began gnawing on it violently, as if chewing through the bad luck that vexed its computer core...

_Bang!_—The villa door swung open, letting golden morning sunlight flood the room.

"Magic Cube! Let's go... Huh? What's wrong? Why are you like this?" Zhang Xiaowen stood at the doorway, watching Magic Cube obsessively chewing on a metal component.

_Clang!_—

The metal part was tossed aside as Magic Cube stood up nonchalantly. "Where shall we wreak havoc today? Downtown? My prediction is we're heading to the northern suburbs. Rescue operations there should be straightforward. I've restored the power circuits—lights will work tonight, though I don't recommend using them after dark. Surveillance systems are operational too. Remind them to recharge the walkie-talkies."

Kicking aside an obstructive electronic component, Magic Cube trudged dejectedly toward the door.

"You're amazing! But today isn't just about rescuing people. More importantly, we need to find the rare metals for your evolution."

Mid-step, Magic Cube froze, one mechanical leg suspended mid-air as it stared dumbfounded at Zhang Xiaowen. When had this girl become so thoughtful? Wasn't it always the other way around...

"This starship is quite touched. We are good friends."

"Mmhmm! When you grow stronger, you can accomplish even more!" Zhang Xiaowen clenched her fists earnestly.

"..." The momentarily moved computer core nearly crashed at the abrupt tone shift. Women! Always scheming! This was blatant exploitation—no holidays, no benefits, no retirement plan, just endless labor providing protection day and night. Ruthless.

"Move! Stupid human blocking the path!" Exiting the villa, Magic Cube crouched and transformed into a massive off-road vehicle with mechanical _clicks_. Revving its electric motor, it charged across the lawn toward the parking area.

"Wait for me~"

Zhang Xiaowen grabbed a bicycle and pedaled after the rampaging vehicle, their playful chase eventually reaching the parking lot. After loading ammunition and supplies, they selected an ordinary staff sedan (after dismissing flashy sports cars as zombie bait) and set off for the city.

Unexpectedly, the car broke down halfway...

Leaning against the door with a drink, Zhang Xiaowen gazed absently at the mountain stream while Magic Cube stood on the engine block delivering brutal "repairs"—methodically stomping components with machine precision.

_Bang! Bang! Bang!_

How much longer?"

"I. HAVE. REPAIRED. SEVENTY-THREE. PERCENT!" Each word synchronized with a metallic kick.

As Zhang Xiaowen stretched lazily, her instincts suddenly screamed—something was watching from the forest! She instantly dropped her drink and aimed her submachine gun, but the ominous presence vanished.

Just as panic spiked, a weight landed on her shoulder—

_Whirl!_ She spun around aiming... at a baffled Magic Cube perched on the roof.

"You dare aim at your savior/mentor/advisor? I sense profound malice!" The robot hopped indignantly.

"I... thought I saw something dangerous. Eyes..."

"Dangerous eyes? Get in! Let's see what dares challenge us!" Magic Cube's arms morphed into weapons, scanning the area. Finding nothing, it transformed back and slid into the passenger seat.

"Probably escaped zoo animals regaining instincts. They sensed firearms. This planet grows perilous... Wait, why am I adopting your speech patterns?"

The sedan accelerated away. Zhang Xiaowen kept checking rearview mirrors, but the mysterious watcher never reappeared.

The car continued along mountain roads, heading toward the city through the deepening chaos.
