Chapter 66: The Curious Yellow Flower

Raccoon

"Big Bro! Baldie's dead!"

"You f*ckers dare trick me! Who did it! Speak now!" The thin man waved his gun at the students and roared.

Suddenly, the thug who had gone to check on Baldie felt his calf tighten. He was yanked into the grass at terrifying speed, screaming in panic before being silenced.

"Ah...save me...save...ugh..."

Whoosh! Everyone turned toward the grass again. The thug had vanished without a trace after a few cries. Three deaths in mere minutes with no visible culprit – the half-meter-tall grass now seemed more terrifying than hell itself to the remaining seven thugs retreating onto the asphalt.

Was...was that special forces soldier back? Boom—

An ear-splitting blast resembling cannon fire erupted. A yellow-haired thug flew backward without even screaming, while another beside him collapsed riddled with holes. The old man swiftly reloaded his homemade shotgun behind the washroom, muttering: "Used to fight man-eaters...never thought I'd shoot human scum today!"

The thin leader, seeing his bloodied subordinate and recalling the old man's silhouette, roared: "Come out you old bastard! I'll kill you!"

Buzz—

Mofang finally returned. Having monitored everything, it felt both disappointed in the guards and grateful to the old man. The four "villains" had surprisingly proven more capable than these armed cowards.

"Six targets." Click-clack... Its undercarriage machine gun extended, marking the remaining thugs in lethal colors.

Everyone stared as a large remote-control helicopter swooped down. "It's Sister Zhang's drone! Back off!" The crowd retreated hastily.

Rat-a-tat-tat...

The thin leader only saw muzzle flashes before recognizing the whistling sound from war movies – bullets! He dropped his gun as his men fell screaming. Mofang executed three perfect strafing runs, leaving three dead with head wounds and three others limb-shattered.

"I'm not killing humans...just crushing filthy insects."

The old man emerged puffing his pipe, shotgun on shoulder: "High-tech's impressive, but I prefer my old friend." Meanwhile, the four feline "villains" sat neatly by the writhing thin leader. A particularly curious yellow raccoon-cat pawed at his bullet wound, tilting its head before losing interest and licking blood off its claws with distaste.

"Were...were these cats the ones...?" The stunned crowd murmured.

Mofang landed on the rooftop as the four felines followed, one mischievously batting at its rotor blades.

Thirty minutes later, Zhang Xiaowen's armored vehicle arrived. Without greeting anyone, she coldly approached the three surviving thugs and racked her pistol.

On the roof, the four cats watched intently as she forced the whimpering thin leader to kneel. After stuffing rags in their mouths, she addressed the crowd: "Who'll execute them? Save your merciful platitudes – I won't hear them."

When no one stepped forward, she wordlessly put a bullet through each thug's skull.

Ting~ A golden shell casing bounced on the ground.
