Chapter 81: The Bond Between Kuzeha and the Yukinoshita Family

Yumi Suou trailed behind Yuki Suou and Haruno Yukinoshita, her mind in turmoil as she tried to sort through the news she had just received.

She knew this child of hers fairly well—since childhood, he had possessed astonishing talent.

No matter what he tried, he could master it in an incredibly short time, and after only a bit of practice, he achieved proficiency on par with seasoned experts.

This was most evident in the field of literature: in elementary school, he was already supporting the orphanage with his manuscript fees alone.

It was precisely this extraordinary ability that gave Kuzeha the confidence to refuse a return to the Suou household.

Instead, he inherited his late father's orphanage, renouncing the vast family fortune.

His decision drove her husband, Gensei Suou, into a rage of frustration and disappointment.

In Gensei's eyes, by abandoning the family lineage, Kuzeha had betrayed the Suou name—and from that moment on, he severed all ties with him.

Yumi Suou seldom heard news of Kuzeha, and under her husband's strict orders, she dared not seek him out.

She caught only occasional newspaper reports of his works breaking records, trusting that her child was living well.

But she was completely unsettled by Haruno Yukinoshita's respectful tone when speaking of Kuzeha.

"Lord Kuzeha… what is his relationship with the Yukinoshita family?" Yumi wondered.

She glanced at her daughter, whose composed expression revealed she knew something about this relationship.

Could Kuzeha have achieved something in another field that commands Mrs. Yukinoshita's respect?

Soon, Haruno stopped in front of an office door and said, "We're here."

Yumi's expression tensed.

She clasped her thin fingers together as Yuki eagerly pushed the door open.

Inside, a handsome youth leaned against the sofa while a dignified, elegant woman gently massaged his head with graceful hands.

It was Kuzeha and Mrs. Yukinoshita.

Yumi's pupils constricted sharply.

She blinked and forced herself to focus on the noblewoman's face—could this really be the same regal lady from the banquet?

Yuki glanced around and, seeing no outsiders, breathed a small sigh of relief and stepped in.

"Big brother, you're living in luxury!

If you'd told me you were here sooner, I wouldn't have waited downstairs so long," Yuki said, plopping beside Kuzeha.

Then she lifted his teacup and took a sip, freezing when she realized their mother still stood at the door.

Kuzeha glanced up, then met Yumi's eyes.

In that calm look, Yumi felt a pang.

"Mrs. Suou," he said.

His tone was mature and indifferent—neither warm nor resentful.

Yumi averted her gaze and forced a weak smile.

"Kuzeha, it's been a long time."

She bowed slightly to Mrs. Yukinoshita and stepped back.

"Yuki, I'm going to the restroom…."

Yuki watched her mother's despondent retreat and sighed softly.

She did not pity Yumi—her brother's willingness to see their mother again was enough.

When the Suou family cut ties, Yumi had not even protested.

Shaking off the thought, Yuki turned to Kuzeha.

"Big brother, is that youth-rejuvenation elixir your doing?"

She recalled the product Mrs. Yukinoshita unveiled and looked at Kuzeha with curiosity—only he could create something so incredible!

Kuzeha nodded.

"If there's an elixir to restore youth, is there one to make people grow?

I want to see how much I can grow in six years."

At her words, both Mrs. Yukinoshita and Haruno stared in stunned surprise.

They sensed that Lord Kuzeha's relationship with his sister was unusual.

In the restroom, Yumi Suou splashed cold water on her face and studied her reflection.

She had long since steeled herself for her son's choices.

Her only consolation was seeing Yuki's easy rapport with Kuzeha—like well-matched siblings.

But what shocked her most was Mrs. Yukinoshita's attentive care: the family matriarch, known as the Iron-Willed Queen, massaging Kuzeha's head as if he were her own child.

Combined with Haruno's deference, it was clear Kuzeha held an extremely high position in their family.

Suddenly, Yumi recalled the youth-rejuvenation elixir from the banquet.

Could that really be Kuzeha's achievement?

She shivered at the thought.

Given his lifelong talent, it did not seem impossible.

If so, I wonder whether Father will regret it.

She pressed her lips together.

From now on, whether I can repair my relationship with my child depends on Yuki.
