Chapter 32: "A Family Dinner"

Just as Aurora and Luna were basking in the warmth of their conversation, Aurora's phone rang, breaking the silence. She hesitated for a moment before answering.

"Aurora, sweetie, it's Mom," her mother's voice chimed from the other end. "We're back in the States, and we were thinking of having a family dinner tonight. We'd love for you and Luna to join us."

Aurora's eyes widened as she looked at Luna.

"Mom, that sounds great," Aurora said, trying to sound casual. "What time were you thinking?"

"How about 6 p.m.?" her mother replied. "We'll make your favorite dish—roast chicken."

Aurora nodded, even though her mother couldn't see her. "Sounds perfect, Mom. We'll be there."

As she hung up the phone, Luna raised an eyebrow. "Family dinner?"

Aurora nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. "Yeah, my parents are back, and they want us to come over for dinner."

Aurora then thought that it was time to start making plans for their wedding, and she decided she would tell her parents about it later tonight.

As the evening approached, Aurora and Luna began getting ready for the family dinner. They stood in front of the closet, scanning through their outfits.

Luna pulled out a sleek black dress, holding it up against herself. "What do you think?"

Aurora's eyes widened in admiration. "You look stunning. That dress was made for you."

Luna smiled, hanging the dress back in the closet. "Thanks, I was thinking of wearing it tonight."

Aurora nodded, pulling out a beautiful blue top and pairing it with a flowy white skirt. "I think I'll wear this."

Luna's eyes sparkled with approval. "You look beautiful, Aurora. That color brings out your eyes."

Aurora blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. "Thanks, Luna."

As they finished getting ready, Luna suggested, "Why don't we take my car tonight?"

Aurora agreed, and they headed out to Luna's car. The drive to Aurora's family house was filled with easy conversation and laughter.

As they pulled up to the house, Nicole opened the door, a smile on her face. "Hey, Aurora! Hey, Luna!"

Aurora's parents and brother emerged from the house, welcoming Luna with warm smiles. As they proceeded to the dinner table, the atmosphere felt slightly tense, but everyone tried to keep the conversation light.

The table was filled with delicious food, and the aroma of roast chicken wafted through the air. Aurora's mother, Karen, smiled at everyone. "Let's dig in, shall we?"
