Chapter 44: Let Them Take Sides and Hit Them All

Julian White had vomited nonstop the previous day, bile spilling from his mouth. When he finally woke up today, it was already noon.

His head was splitting.

But he didn't care about the headache at all. The moment he opened his eyes, he urgently called for his son, Chris White.

As soon as Julian saw Chris, his face changed dramatically.

His son's head was wrapped in white gauze.

He asked hurriedly, "Did Mr. Lopez hit your head?"

Julian's tone wasn't angry—it was panicked.

Chris shook his head. "No, I did it myself."

"Then… how is Mr. Lopez?" Julian asked anxiously.

He had passed out after drinking the night before and had no idea what had happened afterward.

Chris looked a little embarrassed. "Yesterday… I also fainted. Dad, who exactly is that Mr. Lopez?"

He was deeply confused.

Julian sighed and said, "Do you remember I told you there was a miraculous doctor in New York?"

Chris nodded.

Of course, he remembered. Julian had only mentioned it two days ago.

That doctor was said to be a master of the Nine Restoring Yang Needles, a technique so legendary that even the revered Master of Traditional Medicine, Holbrook Davis, had expressed a desire to become his student.

"Dad, is the highly skilled doctor you were talking about… Mr. Lopez?" Chris asked, suddenly realizing the connection.

Julian nodded solemnly. "Yes, it's him. And he has a sister, Alice Moon, who appears to have a deep connection with the Master of Clouds."

Chris's expression changed instantly.

He thought back. When his father first told him about the master doctor, he imagined an old man, at least in his fifties or sixties. He had never expected him to be such a young man.

Yesterday, he had nearly caused a major disaster.

Suddenly, Julian's eyes lit up. "Quick, check your phone contacts. Do you still have Tracy Linch's number?"

"I already deleted it," Chris replied with a bitter smile.

Tracy had left New York Hospital two years ago. Back when Chris worked there, he had chased her relentlessly. Keeping her number would have only brought him trouble.

"It seems I'll have to go through the medical department," Julian muttered.

Ignoring his discomfort, Julian got up, intending to head to New York Hospital.

Since Tracy had worked there, the medical department would likely have her phone number. He could only hope she hadn't changed it.

Just as Julian was about to step out, his phone suddenly vibrated.

He took it out and saw an unfamiliar number. Thinking it was a patient, he reflexively declined the call.

But moments later, a message came through:

"I'm John Lopez."

"Mr. Lopez?" Julian's heart leapt.

Overcome with excitement, he immediately dialed back.

"Mr. Lopez! I didn't expect you to call! I'm so excited. I'm really sorry about what happened yesterday…"

"Enough with the nonsense," John interrupted flatly. "Do you want to learn the Nine Restoring Yang Needles?"

Julian was stunned for a moment.

Then his face flushed with excitement. He nodded fervently, even though John couldn't see it. "Yes! Not just me—my teacher has also been talking nonstop about how he wants to become your student!"

"Your teacher?" John asked.

"Yes, Holbrook Davis, the Master of Traditional Medicine," Julian replied proudly.

There was a long pause on the other end.

After what felt like an eternity, John's voice came through again, calm but sharp. "Then you must know Quin Lynn."

"Yes, I know him. We share the same master," Julian said carefully. "But we don't get along. Is Quin your friend?"

"Enemy," John said curtly.

"Great!" Julian blurted out, but immediately realized his slip. He hastily corrected himself, "Sorry, Mr. Lopez. I didn't mean to offend you. I just meant that Quin is not qualified to be your friend at all!"

"Enough flattery," John said. "Two days from now, Quin's clinic is opening right across from my sister's Feazer Medical Clinic. Bring some people and teach him a lesson."

Julian's eyes gleamed. "Understood. Just send me the address. I promise I'll take care of it to your satisfaction."

After the call ended, Julian felt a sudden warmth spread through his chest, like sunlight piercing through dark clouds.

It felt amazing.

"Hahaha! Quin, you always competed with me when we were students. I never imagined you'd go up against Mr. Lopez. You brought this on yourself, ha ha…"

Julian was practically giddy.

Of course, there was no way he'd warn Quin. In fact, he hoped John Lopez would crush Quin completely.

Chris, watching from the side, was puzzled. "Dad, what's going on with you?"

Just moments ago, his father had looked dejected. Now he was grinning from ear to ear. Why wasn't he rushing to the hospital anymore?

Julian patted Chris on the shoulder and said, "Son, this time, we've struck gold."

Chris looked completely bewildered.

Julian ignored him and opened his contact list, calling people one by one.

"Cohn Well, are you free these days? I need a favor… What? You're planning to support Quin's new clinic? Well then, good luck."

"Marwell Hand, you free now? Oh, also going to support Quin? Good luck to you!"

"Lock Finger… Good luck!"

Julian made over ten calls in a row, only to find that Quin had already reached out to everyone first. In the end, only two or three close friends agreed to help.

Chris, even more confused now, asked, "Dad, are you drunk? Why are you so happy when everyone's rejecting you?"

Julian chuckled mysteriously. "You don't understand. Let them take sides—and hit them all. Ha ha!"

Finally, Julian dialed his master's number from his contact list. As the call rang, he waved his hand and said, "Let's go, Chris. Drive me to see my teacher."
