Let's work hard

I stood infront of the 1st year boys' dormitory in daze.

Yeah, finally I was able to find the dormitory thanks to certain someone. Normally I would be happy if someone else had showed me the way.

But the problem was that the one who lead me to the dormitory was the first princess of the Norva empire, Astrella Norwell.

She was the one who appeared behind me when I was roaming around the garden.

Her elegantly braided light brown hair was fallen down on her shouldes. Her skin was pale, her features sculpted in the kind of refined way that made anyone forget how to blink. She had green eyes that made her look approachable at glance. But as a reader I knew that she was not that simple to approach.

In the novel she was very careful and thoughtful person. Even Kael couldn't earn her trust at the beginning.

'She must be in second year now'

She was observing me before repeating her question.

"Why?" She repeated while stepping towards me.

"...What?" I took a step back unconsciously.

"....Why is it the worst day?"

"Oh...I..I got sick." I couldn't think of anything else to say.

"You don't look sick."

".... can't find the way back." Eventhough it was bit embarrassing I told her the truth. I couldn't risk to be on her suspicious list.

"..."

Then she just showed me the way without asking anything further.

But I could even swear that I saw her smiling for a second there. My cheeks felt like they were on fire because of the embarrassment. So I quietly followed her.

Fortunately Astrella left after showing the dormitory. I exhaled a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding. Her presence was like pressure itself. She was elegant, composed, but overwhelming.

Still, thanks to her, I was here.

'Now, I could finally rest...' Or so I thought.

The moment I stepped inside the dormitory building, I realized my next biggest problem.I didn't know my room number.

Rowen dragged me in the morning only giving me enough time to grab the key. Also I wasn't in my right mind in the morning. I didn't even remember seeing a room number.

"That's fine," I muttered to myself while taking out the key from my pocket .

" A key should have some sort of number or… marking, right?"

It didn't.

The key was plain—no number, no magical engraving.

'Oh wow... Am I not suffering enough.' I looked around for a guild or anyone who looked like a staff member.

But no one was there.

' Ahhh.... my shitty luck. I can't go knocking on every door with a key like some door-to-door salesman. right?'

'At least I know that my room is in 2nd floor. I remember coming down a staircase.' So I decided to search my room in the 2nd floor.

"Adriaaaaaan."

As I was climbing up to the second floor, I heard Rowen calling my name. I had never been so happy to hear someone calling my name before.

'Problem solved ' A sudden relief washed over me.

"Why did you suddenly leave during the class?"

"...I went to the washroom."

"What ? Then were you in there for almost 6 hours ? It's already 5 p.m. " Rowen asked me accusingly.

"If you were going to ditch the class you should have bought me along with you."

Rowen seemed to be the type of guy who asked questions and then make conclusions all by himself even without hearing the answers.

"....." ' How can I answer his questions. Also did I spend that much time in the garden. I probably spent most of the time to find the way'.

"Haaah" a sigh escaped from my mouth.

" Let's go. I want to go to the room." All I wanted to do was sleep.

"Hey did you eat ? I bought you dinner. Wanna eat? " Rowen asked while showing what he bought.

'This guy can be reliable sometimes.' I had neither breakfast nor lunch. So I was starving. I just didn't feel hungry until now because of the tension.

But as soon as I saw food my mouth started drooling.

"Yeah. Let's eat. I'm starving right now."

"I figured that much. I searched for you in the cafeteria. But I couldn't find you. Si I bought you food. Don't worry you won't starve as long as I'm here." Rowen joked while heading towards our rooms.

"Sure. Thank you." I also started to follow him.

.........

After eating Rowen went to his room reminding me not to oversleep tomorrow again and again.

I closed my eyes for a second, letting the silence settle.

'This world still felt surreal to me. Who would have thought that I'd transmigrate into a novel that I used to read obsessively .A kind of story that pulled me in with breathtaking characters and impossible stakes.

But I wasn't any of the protagonists.

'Should I be happy or sad? I'm not sure.'

I was Adrian. I'm not entirely sure if such character was in the story or not. Too much time had passed. With the type of memory I had, it would be a miracle if I remembered everything.

'Even if Adrian existed, he must ave been an extra.' An insignificant name that showed up maybe twice in the early chapters as a student in magic classes.

'Now, I am in his body, with no clear idea about magic or what role I has to play.

Can I even survive here?'

"Ah.. Documents. "

I remembered the documents I saw in the morning. They might contain something important. As I saw in the morning, all documents were belong to 'Adrian'. I took out the academy id first.

.........

Name - Adrian Avens

Age -15

Class - 5

Department - Mage

Level - D

.........

Then I started to look through test results documents.

.........

Entrance Examination - Results

Writing test- rank 22/400

Physical examination- rank 366/400

Duel - rank 341/400

Overall rank - 243/400

...........

If a student wanted to get

admitted into the Greatark Academy , he had to face 2 trials. Each trial contained a written exam, Physical examination and a duel.

During the first trial, 400 students were selected. But only 250 students get admitted to the academy from those 400 students.

Eventhough 'Adrian' was among last ranks, admitting into the academy alone was a admirable talent.

I found academy manual among the documents.

"There is 5 batches in the academy. Also one batch divides into 2 departments ,mage department and swordman department. Each department has 5 classes. Obviously I'm in the last class, class 5.'

"Surviving is not going to be easy" I muttered to my self.

'In this world there is a level system that measure someone's mana capacity.

Level S, A, B, C, D, E and F.

Most of people are born with lavel E mana capacity. So Adrian's level is not bad. But in the Greatark Academy , that level is far below the average.'

"I need to work hard from now on"

I talked to my self while rummaging through the documents to find more details. But all I could find was Adrian's test results and basic information about academy.

Fortunately I found a map of the academy.

'Looks like I'm not gonna get lost again. '

Soon my vision started to go blurry from sleepiness.
