Holding the Foundation Establishment chapter, James walked into his house eager to learn and continue cultivating. Before departing, Faldon instructed James to seek him out if angthing was unclear or if he had any questions.
James sat down on his meditation mat and began reading the technique. It seemed pretty simple, what the cultivator needed to do was guide the mana they had accumulated and then use that mana to saturate their bones. The more mana a cultivator had accumulated, the stronger their bones will become thereby building a stronger foundation for future cultivation.
'This doesn't seem too hard. According to the technique, I'll know i've established my foundation when my bones turn light blue with small cloud patterns. Do I need to cut my hand open or something to look at my bones? Whatever, let's try to learn the technique so it's in the system first.'
James then closed his eyes and began following the technique. He concentrated on feeling his body, trying to connected to the mana within. After a couple of minutes, he found that the mana was distributed throughout his entire body and like he saw in the Advancement function space, it had a golden color.
'Does that mean my bones with end up yellow or gold?'
James refocused and began trying to will his mana towards his bones. The mana began to flow inward. James began to see images from inside his body wherever the mana moved.
'Is this the Divine Sense i've heard about? Using the mana to feel and 'see' objects by enveloping them. What an incredible feeling, it's like obtaining a new sense, like finally opening my eyes after having them closed for so long.'
The mana hovered around his bones, slowly approaching but when it was about to enter the bones, it suddenly dispersed. The mana, light as air, seemed repulsed by his bones.
'This is harder than I thought. It feels like trying to push 2 magnets together by force.'
James continued trying and eventually fell into a cycle of approach, repel, repeat. With each attempt, James was able to push the mana closer. After 3 days of attempts, no matter what he did he was not able to make it mana touch his bones.
'Alright the mana isn't moving any closer than this. It seems that an inch away is like a hard wall. I should ask master to see if he has any tips.'
James got up and headed towards his master's pavillion. His master led him in as if expecting him and then they both settled down in his meditation hall.
"So what brings my talented second disciple here to see me so soon?"
"Well master, i've tried following the technique as written but no matter what I do the mana won't enter within an inch of my bones. I was hoping you would have some tips or tricks to overcoming this resistance."
"Hmm to be able to distinguish such accurate information, your Mana Sense seems unusually strong."
"Wait Mana Sense? I thought it was my Divine Sense."
"Hahaha not quite. Cultivators can use their mana to scan objects with their mana and this allows them to gain far more detailed information than simply using their eyes. This is what we call Mana Sense. Once a cultivator enters the Nascent Soul realm, they cultivate a form compatible with Soul energy. This we call the Nascent Soul. The Nascent Soul will resonate with the cultivator's Spiritual soul, the soul that we are born with, and allow the cultivator a small amount of control over their soul energy. When combining Mana Sense with soul energy, that is when the cultivator is using Divine Sense."
James scratched his head in embarrassment, "Ah, guess I got a bit ahead of myself haha."
"Now getting back to your cultivation issue. I'm surprised to learn that your problem has to do with the mana integration with your bones since they are usually attracted to eachother. I thought you'd be seeking my help in trying to sense your mana as most people are unable to detect their internal mana without months of meditation.
Hmm could you try cultivating for me while I scan you using my Divine Sense?"
'Wait could I use the Mentorship function in this situation?'
'Open Mentorship'

'Ok now let's try cultivating and see if any tips master gives me will give results.'
James closed his eyes and began following the technique. He moved the mana towards his bones and like before it hovered an inch away.
"Fascinating, your mana is resisting entering your bones. I've also never felt mana this pure before and it has a golden color instead if the usual blue…"
'How can this kid's mana but so pure? It's as if he took mana directly from a Heanvenly Tribulation. In all the stories of cultivators going through Heavenly Tribulations while in the Tribulation Transcendance realm, the lightnight they must face is gold. It's believed that the golden color represents the purest form of mana.
This kid has somehow cultivated mana so pure that it disdains to integrate with a 'dirty' mortal body. How in Heaven's name has he been cultivating? He was able to do this while using our sect's cultivation technique? His talent must be more Heaven defying than I originally thought.'
Faldon was amazed by what he was seeing. He'd never heard of this happening before and he couldn't understand how his disciple had cultivated this pure and strong mana with the cultivation technique of a Minor sect like theirs. It wasn't as if he'd been using the technique of an Immortal sect. Faldon began doubting his own cultivation. He was know as a talent himself, being able to reach the Middle stages of the Nascent Soul realm at only the age of 250. Using the same technique as his disciple, back then he'd managed to reach the peak of the Mana Gathering realm much faster than his peers but the mana he cultivated was still the same as anyone elses.
