Emily Jenkins's husband, Kenton, expects her to be at his beck and call every minute of the day, and she is getting tired of this life, but would she resort to murder?

Carol Butler is married to Emily's cousin, Damon. She thinks Damon is cheating on her with a woman he and Kenton helped move from Knoxville to Nashville. Damon swears the woman is gay, but Carol is not convinced. How far will she go to learn the truth?

Detectives Janice Carter and Harold Jones are called to a scene at the Jenkins' home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. Kenton Jenkins is found dead in his pool. It could have been an accident, but their instincts tell them it was murder.

There are no obvious clues, and the only two people who could be suspects have airtight alibis.  At the same time, other people could be responsible, who had a motive, and how will it be proven with no evidence to tie them to the scene?

Kenton Jenkins had secrets that no one suspected. Were those secrets enough to get him murdered?

Treacherous Secrets

Janice and Harold sat in Harold’s SUV outside the funeral home as they watched mourners coming in for the two funerals going on today. There was a ninety-year-old woman whose funeral was taking place right after Kenton Jenkins'. It was fairly easy to distinguish between the two funerals’ attendees. Most of the people coming for the elderly woman's funeral were older people, with an occasional young person coming in. The majority of the people coming for Kenton's funeral were anywhere from their mid-twenties to mid-sixties. 


"There are not as many people coming for the funeral as I expected," Harold commented. 


"I suspect that he was a big jerk to most people who didn't endear him to very many," Janice observed. 


Chapter Twelve
