The New Recruits

Thor closed the door to his room, making sure not to wake his three partners and looked left. "Aponia, you have your own room don't you?" He gave her a second before putting up his hand,

"You know what, I already know," He then walks past her, "Come on then."

Aponia follows behind him.

–Shhhh–

"Welcome to the training dome."

He looks up at the digital clock, "It's late, so we can't do too much, but I can at least see what you can do." He turns back, noting Aponia's quick glance around the place.

Aponia's half-lidded eyes land back on Thor, "Thor-sama, have you brought me here to assess my worth?" Her tone flat, despite the concerning words.

"Hmm" Thor entered a thinking pose for a few seconds,

"Not exactly, more like I'm just curious about what you can do, Sakura did say you could control people using your speech."

"You would be right Thor-sama, however Miss Sakura is wrong about my ability." Aponia held up a hand.

Thor suddenly felt something trying to influence him, but he just shut it down simply. He raised a brow at her, "Was that it? Using a combination of willpower and Honkai to influence a target? Possibly to impose a binding of some form." He noticed Aponia flinch at his explanation.

"Or maybe a law of sorts, you are a nun, so it might be better to say a commandment, haha" Aponia nods as Thor stiffs and,

"Wait, seriously? I was just joking about that last part."

"I call it Discipline, and you are correct, except to those weaker than myself these bindings are unbreakable, for someone like yourself Thor-sama, who is unaffected, the rest of the MANTIS's could resist it after a few seconds." Thor's jaw hung open, while he expected Aponia to be some type of hidden boss, he didn't expect, well this.

While silence filled the air, Thor regained himself and coughed into his fist. "Ahem. Anyway, cool power, I'm not jealous at all" Then he whispers , "It definitely wouldn't have been useful against those arrogant bastards."

–Clap–

"You've also told me you can see the future, at least glimpses."

Aponia sighs, "I can't see the future itself, but the threads that define it, from the moment I was born I could see the threads that connect people, the threads that lead to futures, even my own, I saw my own end." Her face turned somewhat solemn. "While that should be the case with everyone," Opening her eyes fully she stares at Thor noting how she can see nothing like that.

"You Thor-sama, I can't see anything like that, it's as if fate doesn't bind you, but is bound to you." She could see the threads intertwining themselves with Thor, yet never binding him.

Thor nodded slowly, he managed to put it all together and grasp what she could do at the very least.

'So a random nun, in some random slums, turns out to probably be the most important person in this world,' He could only smile wryly at the thought.

"And I guess this is the classic, the more you work to avoid a certain future the more you head towards it." Aponia nodded again.

Thor chuckled, "Well, now that I have a grasp on your abilities, tell me about the other three that you took under you."

"Yes Thor-sama."

Himeko was confused, very confused. 'Just who is this woman!?' four new people had joined them for breakfast today, a surprise to her and the majority of others who were already asleep by the time Thor got back.

She also noticed the proportions of this woman, 'And is she bigger than me!?' Himeko silently compared herself to the woman opposite her, who has happily made herself comfortable at Thor's side.

"Pfft, hahahaha, Himeko, you should see yourself." Elysia had been observing Himeko from the moment she sat down, and to say she was entertained would be an understatement.

"Grrr, shut it Ellie! Who are these people, and who is this woman specifically??" Her hair flailed behind her and Himeko glared at Thor, demanding an explanation.

Thor on the other hand just had a 'What did I do?' expression. Of course he knew the answer. BUT, that doesn't mean he should be receiving her glare like this.

"So their newbies?" Once Thor and Sakura both explained the situation, Himeko still somehow felt there was something she was missing.

A vein in her head throbbed, and if the matching smirks on her three sisters' faces, she was 1000% missing something big, 'Where the hell is Vill?? I need backup here. Seriously, where the hell was Vill, she never misses breakfast?'

Unknown to Himeko, Vill had somehow found out about the trio's little impromptu session so she's still recovering, she's only a normal human after all.

But she wouldn't let them get the better of her, she was a calm and dignified woman, so she took a deep breath, trying not to snap at the three.

"Huh?" She was suddenly pulled into Thor's lap, he then started to whisper things into her ear, she went bright crimson at his words, squirming, but nodded while covering her red face, a face so red you couldn't tell where her hair ended and her face began.

Meanwhile, the three newcomers beside Aponia were confused, well at least two of them, you could never tell with Kalpas, he was more of a fight and never think kind of guy.

"Are you also starting to regret joining?" Felis whispered to Kosma, who couldn't give an answer, if it was just this, he could handle it, dealing with children is easy, but superpowered world ending children is almost impossible.

Nonetheless, both Felis and Kosma were more surprised that they were this laid back, they expected a more stiff and tense group than this. 'But this is better in the end.' They both thought.

–BOOM– –CRASH– –BOOM–

"I knew this would happen," Sakura's eyes looked dead inside, Rin by her side just gave her sister a confused look.

–BOOM–

The others in the room couldn't help but agree with her statement. Since they had four newbies, that also meant four new people to test Honkai, MANTIS and ICHOR compatibility with.

The MANTIS surgery was reduced from Honkai integration to just enhancement, making it more suitable and compatible for mass production, ICHOR is just the specific Isolated Honkai Gene. Courtesy of the combined efforts of Mobius, Klein, Su and Mei spending countless nights without sleep.

But back to the scene before them, everything had gone well with the first three, but the moment Kalpas's turn came, he exploded at Mobius, kicking her away and into a nearby wall. Obviously she was uninjured, but her reaction led to the situation before them.

–CRASH– –BOOM–

Mobius was beating the absolute life out of Kalpas, the man stood no chance against her , especially when she gained Honkai like traits, almost similar to Thor, but much less prominent.

"Can someone tell me why we didn't have Aponia here just reel him in?" Hua interjects while she gives her own deadpan stare, she now knows why people were so horrified of Mobius.

"Thor's orders, Aponia is not to use her abilities on any of us unless absolutely necessary." Kevin says, he stood with his arms crossed while observing Mobius's movements, hoping to maybe learn something from the scientist's unorthodox fighting style.

"Oh it looks like it's going to be over soon!" Rin suddenly speaks up for the first time, Himeko looks at her weirdly.

"You can see what's happening?" Himeko could barely keep up with their movements.

"Umu, of course, I've watched Onii-chan and Onee-chan spar many times, obviously I'd be able to keep up. Hmph, don't underestimate me." Rin stuck her tongue out at Himeko while looking off to the side.

Following that, the rest of the group just waited for the beating to end, most somehow starting to feel bad for Kalpas, he was being thrown around like a ragdoll.

Thor was flipping through some reports with Mobius beside him, she was playing with Hamsuke and Klein was sipping some boba tea Thor got her, he was the late one, meaning he had to buy or in this case make drinks for them the next day.

"These two are impressive Mobius, and are you sure they're only 20? Also their twins of all things?" 

Thor had noticed an increase in Moth applications since the events of the 5th, but Mobius accepting two university grads who skipped the majority of their PHDs, yes plural as in multiple, the two have matching PHDs covering almost every subject concerning biology, if it had bio in it, they had it.

"They should be here within the next few days, I thought to tell you first, you are my boss in the end." Mobius leaned against him, she had been getting strangely intimate with him, however she only seemed to have the courage when she had Hamsuke with her and they were alone.

Klein didn't count in this case. Thor wouldn't comment but he did wonder if she was even aware of her actions, she probably thinks she's just doing what increases her endorphin levels, heck he'd doubt she… 'Ah whatever, that's a problem for future Thor.'

Thor just went back to flicking through the report, asking Mobius some questions every now and again, and Klein finished six boba teas by the end of their discussion, but somehow she still felt like she had only had one.
