Chapter 5 : Spirit Water: Because Regular Hydration Wasn’t Good Enough

Green nodded so fast her wings buzzed.

So, like any rational person trapped in a magical farm system, I picked up the remote and pressed OK.

A low rumble vibrated through the floor, and when I glanced out the window, I saw stone bricks assembling mid-air, stacking themselves until a well stood proudly just outside.

I blinked. "...Right."

That was it. No sparkles. No explosion. Just a well being summoned like a vending machine order.

I no longer had the energy to be surprised.

Turning back to the screen, I saw my gold total now sat at 250. I navigated to the Plants section next.

Corn: 100 gold.

Apple tree: 100 gold.

Without overthinking, I bought both. A ding chimed twice, and when I peeked outside again, I saw tiny saplings forming where the open field used to be.

My balance dropped to 50 gold.

I stared at the screen.

I was officially broke in a magical farm simulation.

Green hovered beside me, positively glowing with joy. "You're doing great, Master!"

"...I've been here for fifteen minutes," I muttered.

She just giggled like I'd said something adorable.

"How can I earn more gold?" I asked as we headed back outside.

Green zipped ahead of me like a hummingbird on caffeine. "Easy! Just sell the products you grow. Corn matures every six hours, and so do apples."

She started counting on her tiny fingers like it was a revolutionary revelation. "But! Since you bought the well, the duration is reduced to five hours. It helps with watering efficiency."

I blinked at her. "That's oddly specific."

"Oh! Also," she clapped her hands together like she remembered something important, "you have to buy a field first."

I stopped walking and slowly turned to her, deadpan. "You're telling me... I just bought seeds and a well. But I didn't buy land to plant them on?"

Green nodded cheerfully.

I sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of my nose as I turned back toward the house, legs heavy but bearable. This system had the logic of a mobile farming app and the ethics of a casino.

Back in front of the TV, the Shop opened automatically. Navigating to the Land & Terrain section, I found it, One Field Plot: 50 Gold. Size: 10 meters by 10 meters.

I had exactly 50 gold left.

"Of course," I muttered and clicked Buy.

Through the window, I watched as a perfect square of dark, fertile soil materialized outside, almost mockingly neat.

One plot. That's all I could afford. My entire magical farm was now: one well, one corn stalk, one apple sapling, and one square of dirt.

So much for my overpowered reincarnation arc.

Green hovered beside me, beaming. "Look at that! You're really getting the hang of it!"

I resisted the urge to ask if there was a refund button.

Or better yet, ask to remain dead.

"Green, plant the corn and the apple tree," I said, my voice falling flat but authoritative.

Green gave me a crisp nod, then waved her hand like she was performing a lazy magic trick. A gentle breeze stirred the air, and when I glanced outside, I saw the seeds gently sink into the freshly-formed field. The earth sealed over them like nothing had ever disturbed it.

"...Is that it?" I asked, brow furrowed in confusion.

She smiled with an expression that was somewhere between smug and serene. "Mhm!"

That was anticlimactic.

I wandered back into the house and sank onto the plush sofa, letting my body relax into the cushions. My eyes fell on my hands, bony, frail-looking, the fingers thinner than I remembered. This wasn't my body. Not the one that had held scalpels and stirred sauces, that had written prescriptions and designed outfits.

This one was weak. Starved. Haunted.

Green floated down beside me, uncharacteristically quiet, her gaze thoughtful. "Master should drink the water from the well," she said softly.

I turned to her, puzzled.

She continued, "It has spirit properties. It can make Master's body healthy. It's how we nourish you here."

I blinked, then looked out the window toward the well, just sitting there like it held all the answers. Something about the way she said it made my heart skip.

"...Seriously?"

Green only nodded, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

A well with water that could heal me? This farm might not be the cliché system I first thought it was. It was probably worst.

"Can you give me some?" I asked, watching Green zip off toward the kitchen. She returned moments later, holding a simple glass of water in her hands.

I accepted the glass, my fingers grazing hers as I took it. Without hesitation, I tipped it back and drank it in one swift gulp. The cool liquid slid down my throat, and almost instantly, I felt something stirring inside of me.

A warm sensation spread through my body, starting from my stomach and radiating out to my limbs. It was as if every part of me was being bathed in soothing, revitalizing energy.

It felt like I was being healed from the inside out.

I could feel it. My body was responding to the water, not just a typical liquid, but something far more potent. This wasn't ordinary water; it had the distinct taste of Qi, or perhaps it was infused with spirit energy. The sensation was familiar, but entirely foreign at the same time.

Cultivation, I thought. Cultivation exists in this world. That made the whole healing process simpler, faster, even. My body, weak and frail just moments ago, now felt more solid, more capable. The bony hands I had stared at earlier now felt a lot less weaker, more stable, it was small, but it was there.

I blinked, the realization slowly dawning on me. I had just taken a sip of what could be considered a "cultivation booster" and now I was already healing. It was like having an instant health pack in a game.

Suddenly, my thoughts snapped back to the real world, and a question burned through my mind. I turned to Green, voice filled with curiosity and urgency.

"Can you transfer this to the real world?"

Green floated back in front of me, her eyes gleaming with that ever-present enthusiasm. "If Master wants, we can."

I stared at her for a moment, my mind churning with possibilities. The idea of this well, or its healing water, being transferred to the real world, my old world, was tantalizing. What could I do with this kind of power? Could I help my family, heal others? My heart raced at the thought.

Without saying another word, I leveled my gaze at her in silent command.
