Chapter 41: Ye Lingling: See You Again If Fate Permits. Ye Lingling: ??? We Meet Again So Soon!

Upon hearing this, Dai Chengfeng raised his head and gazed at the Tian Dou City before him.

It was truly worthy of its status as the capital of the Tian Dou Empire.

The towering city walls stretched high into the sky, requiring one to look up just to see the top. Under the sunlight, the walls snaked like a dormant dragon, exuding an ancient and weighty luster.

The vibrant flags of the Tian Dou Empire fluttered fiercely in the wind.

At the city gates, a tide of people surged, with carriages and horses bustling about, creating a lively scene.

"Fresh fruits for sale! If they're not sweet, you don't pay!"

Street vendors shouted their wares at the top of their lungs, their voices mingling with the chatter and laughter of passersby.

"We've finally arrived."

Dai Chengfeng muttered softly to himself, his voice tinged with exhaustion from the long journey. After all, he had been traveling every day for the past three months, most of it spent traversing the outer regions of the Great Star Dou Forest without the aid of carriages.

"This Tian Dou City is nothing special, I thought it would be more impressive, tsk~"

At this moment, Zhu Fan looked at Tian Dou City with a dissatisfied sneer.

Dai Chengfeng chuckled and shook his head.

To be fair, Tian Dou City was indeed more prosperous than Star Luo City.

After all, the Star Luo Empire prioritized military strength, which left its commercial development lagging behind somewhat.

"Uncle, being behind isn't frightening as long as we recognize our shortcomings and strive to improve in the future."

Hearing this, Zhu Fan still felt a bit resentful as he gazed at Tian Dou City, but he also understood that what his prince said was true. Although the Tian Dou Empire wasn't strong militarily, there were aspects where the Star Luo Empire could learn from them.

"With you, Chengfeng, our Star Luo Empire will one day catch up."

"Mm."

Dai Chengfeng nodded without hesitation.

"Lingling, it seems these two lords are indeed not from the Tian Dou Empire."

Bai Xue listened to their conversation and whispered softly to Ye Lingling.

"They're our benefactors."

Ye Lingling's expression remained unchanged as she spoke calmly, like still water.

"Yes, even if they are from the Star Luo Empire, they are still our benefactors."

Bai Xue smiled and stopped dwelling on the matter.

At this moment, Dai Chengfeng turned to look at Ye Lingling and Bai Xue. "After traveling together for thousands of miles, it's time to part ways. Farewell for now, and may we meet again if fate permits."

"It was a pleasure traveling with you both."

Zhu Fan beside him also nodded. "We owe our smooth journey to the guidance of the two young ladies."

Bai Xue stepped forward gracefully and bowed to Dai Chengfeng and Zhu Fan. "It's we who should thank the two of you."

"After all, we merely guided the way; your safety was ensured by you, Lord Soul Douluo."

Ye Lingling also looked at Dai Chengfeng and Zhu Fan. "Lord Zhu Fan, Chengfeng, see you again if fate permits."

"The road ahead is long, but we'll surely meet again."

Dai Chengfeng waved with a smile, then turned around decisively with Zhu Fan and entered the city without hesitation.

---

In Tian Dou City, the streets were wide and clean, lined with shops packed closely together. A dazzling array of goods filled the storefronts, leaving one's eyes overwhelmed.

From priceless soul-guiding tools to exquisite jewelry, from rare medicinal herbs to fragrant delicacies, everything was available.

As Dai Chengfeng walked, he carefully observed his surroundings, mentally noting the layout and features of the city. "This might come in handy when expanding Star Luo City in the future."

"Chengfeng, let's find a hotel and rest well tonight?"

Compared to Dai Chengfeng, Zhu Fan rubbed his lower back and made the suggestion.

He simply wanted to rest well for the night.

Hearing this, Dai Chengfeng nodded.

They quickly found a sizable hotel, booked two premium rooms, and returned to their respective rooms.

Inside the room.

Steam rose from the hot water, enveloping the bath area in mist. Dai Chengfeng slowly sank into the water.

He tilted his head back slightly and sighed in comfort. "Finally, after all this traveling, we can take a short break."

Recalling the hardships of the past three months—sleeping outdoors and the dangers faced while traversing the outer regions of the Great Star Dou Forest—the current tranquility felt especially precious.

A good night's sleep passed.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the carved window lattice, casting light onto the bed.

Dai Chengfeng and Zhu Fan enjoyed a simple breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Zhu Fan wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Ah, after several months, I finally get to eat a proper breakfast!"

Dai Chengfeng chuckled. "Then, Uncle, cherish it."

"After all, we may not stay in Tian Dou City for long."

"Huh?"

Zhu Fan's face instantly fell. "We're leaving again?"

"What did you think? Did I come to Tian Dou City for sightseeing?"

With that, Dai Chengfeng ignored Zhu Fan.

Instead, he raised his hand and beckoned over a young waiter.

The waiter hurried over, bowing slightly with a professional smile.

"What else may I assist you with, sir?"

Dai Chengfeng took out a silver soul coin from his pocket, tossed it lightly, and it arced through the air before landing steadily in the waiter's hand.

"I'd like to ask you about a place…"

Seeing the silver soul coin in his hand, the waiter's eyes lit up with delight. He quickly tucked the coin away and bent even lower.

"My lord, please ask anything. I'll answer to the best of my knowledge!"

Dai Chengfeng nodded slightly. "Where is Doctor Ye Renxin's clinic in this city?"

The waiter immediately smiled and replied, "My lord, you've asked the right person!"

"Exit our hotel and follow this main street straight ahead. After about two blocks, you'll reach a crossroads with a large blacksmith shop."

"At the blacksmith shop, turn right and walk another hundred steps or so, and you'll see a clinic with a sign reading 'Ye Family Clinic.'"

"That's Doctor Ye's clinic—it's very easy to find."

"A blacksmith shop…?"

Dai Chengfeng nodded. "Come to think of it, I do need a good spear. Maybe I can check it out along the way."

While pondering, he and Zhu Fan exited the hotel and headed in the direction indicated by the waiter.

Even though it was early morning, the streets were already bustling with activity.

As Dai Chengfeng continued walking, he silently noted the layout of the surrounding buildings.

The waiter was right—it was indeed easy to find.

Not long after,

Dai Chengfeng and Zhu Fan arrived at a standalone shop with a sign reading "Ye Family Clinic."

Compared to the surrounding crowded shops, the "Ye Family Clinic" appeared ancient and understated.

The clinic's door was made of heavy solid wood, above which hung a black plaque with bold golden characters: "Ye Family Clinic."

At this moment, there seemed to be no patients inside, and the door was slightly ajar.

Seeing this, Dai Chengfeng pushed the door open, and a faint herbal fragrance wafted toward him.

The spacious hall was bright and airy, with polished blue bricks covering the floor. Inside, a few antique tables and chairs were arranged neatly.

On one side stood a tall medicine cabinet, densely packed with countless small drawers. Each drawer bore a label with the name of a medicinal herb.

Beside the medicine cabinet was a large table.

On it were various tools for preparing medicine, such as a mortar and pestle, a weighing scale, and other instruments.

Right at that moment.

A slightly cold feminine voice came from the backyard. "Do we have visitors?"

"If you'd like to see a doctor, please wait a moment. Grandfather will be here shortly… Hmm?"

However, before Ye Lingling could finish her sentence, she suddenly froze in place, astonished to see Dai Chengfeng and Zhu Fan standing opposite her. "Lord Chengfeng, Lord Zhu Fan, are you here to see a doctor or to visit me?"

They had only parted ways yesterday, saying they would meet again if fate permitted.

But just one day later, they met again in the morning…

This left Ye Lingling puzzled. Were Dai Chengfeng and Zhu Fan here to visit her, or were they here to see a doctor?

"What a coincidence, Miss Ye. Is this your home?"

Zhu Fan looked at Ye Lingling, feigning immense surprise, as if he hadn't expected to see her here.

"It truly is fate."

Ye Lingling pursed her lips and gave a rare light laugh. "I was just thinking about how long it would take to see you both again. I didn't expect to meet you again today."

"Lingling, who has arrived?"

At this moment, an elderly yet gentle voice came from the backyard.

Dai Chengfeng tensed slightly. "I hope Medical Saint Ye Renxin knows about immortal herbs!"

"Otherwise, whether it's Tang San, Ju Douluo, or the Breaking Clan, it would all be extremely troublesome!"
