Chapter 23: The Tower of Truth and a Proposal of a Lifetime

The sun shone brightly over the skyline as Zain, dressed casually yet with his usual understated charm, stood at the base of the tallest tower in the city. The same tower where days ago, Elena had pulled him aside, insisting they didn't belong there. But today—today was different. Today, he would reveal the truth.

He turned to Elena, her hand resting gently on his arm, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Farhan, who followed closely behind, still unsure why they were being brought here.

"Where are we going, Zain?" Elena asked with a curious smile. "You've been mysterious all morning."

"You'll see," he replied with a wink.

They entered the sleek, glass-panelled lobby. The staff at the reception immediately stood up. "Tuan Zain," they greeted in unison, bowing respectfully.

Elena's steps slowed. She looked around. Everyone in the lobby—security guards, receptionists, even the janitor—had stopped and acknowledged Zain with the kind of respect reserved for only one thing: power.

Her eyes widened. "Did… did they just call you—"

"Yes," Zain said, smiling softly. "This building is mine. This company. Everything you see here... belongs to me."

There was a moment of stunned silence.

Elena mom eyes blinked rapidly as she clutched her handbag tighter. "What…? You mean—this is your company?"

Mr. Farhan looked up at the grand chandelier and then at Zain, his voice shaking. "You own this entire tower?"

Zain gave a nod. "And about forty other properties in the city."

Elena stepped back slightly, disbelief painted across her face. "You… You're the one everyone was talking about? The silent tycoon?"

He chuckled. "I didn't think it mattered, back then. I didn't want you to love me because of this. I wanted you to love me... for me."

Tears welled in her eyes. She shook her head, laughing in disbelief, before throwing her arms around him. "You idiot," she whispered. "Of course, I do."

Zain gently pulled away. "There's one more reason I brought you all here today."

He reached into his pocket.

A velvet box.

Elena gasped, her hands instinctively covering her mouth.

He got down on one knee, right there in the middle of his grand lobby.

"Elena . I've waited a lifetime to feel what I feel when I'm around you. And now that I have you… I don't want to spend another moment without you. Will you marry me?"

Tears streamed freely down her cheeks. She nodded, unable to form words.

"Yes!" she finally choked out. "Yes, Zain!"

Applause erupted from the staff around the lobby. Mrs. Zaleha was already in tears, and even Mr. Farhan, the stern businessman who once doubted Zain, now had a rare, proud smile on his face.

"This… this is unexpected," he said, clearing his throat. "But I see now. You're not just a man with wealth, Zain. You're a man with heart."

Just as they embraced, a voice echoed from the entrance.

"Elena?"

Everyone turned.

Qis.

Elena's long-lost childhood friend, now elegantly dressed and still as dramatic as ever, walked in with disbelief etched across her face.

"Elena... you're marrying... Zain?" she asked, her voice trembling between shock and wonder.

Elena laughed, wiping her tears, her hands still held tightly by Zain. "Yes, Qis. I'm marrying him."

Qis looked from Elena to Zain and back again, then broke into a huge grin. "Finally. The storybook ending we always talked about."

Zain stood up and turned to Mr. Farhan. "I want to set a date, if you'll allow it, sir. I want to make Elena mine officially."

Mr. Farhan nodded. "You have my blessing. Let's make it soon."

As they all made their way up to the 412th floor—now a place of celebration, not secrecy—the tower wasn't just a symbol of power anymore.

It was now the beginning of something even greater.

A love story written in the sky.
