What Have You Done?!

"What?! Kill my father?! What do you mean?!" Miss Anderson exclaimed and everyone looked at her.

Kingsley also paused from extracting the miracle drug from the vial and stared at the woman, who, to them, had started yelling for no reason.

"What's your problem now, Anderson?!" Henry frowned.

"Go ahead, Benjamin. Tell them what you told me", Miss Anderson said hurriedly.

Everyone looked at Benjamin and their annoyance spiked.

"You expect us to listen to that rat who's in handcuffs?" Elizabeth asked, echoing everyone's feelings.

"Yes, you should all listen, because what he has to say is very important", Miss Anderson retorted to her stepmother.

Denison, whom Henry had properly dealt with outside, remained silent. Jessica, who was always on her older brother's side, also stayed quiet, allowing Henry to speak freely and uninterruptedly.

"Okay, Anderson, I'll humor you and the beggar you came with," Henry said, then he glared at Benjamin. "Alright, brat, what important opinion does a monkey like you have?"

Benjamin frowned, offended by the insult and belittling comment. But he wanted to save Sebastian from Doctor Kingsley's reckless treatment, so he sucked it up.

"If you let Doctor Kingsley use that drug on the patriarch, then you can kiss him goodbye because the drug is going to kill him," Benjamin said, and everyone's eyes widened.

"Excuse me—?" Henry asked, but Kingsley, who felt extremely insulted, cut him off.

"What nonsense are you spewing, child?!" the doctor yelled, drawing everyone's attention to himself.

"How dare you say that I, Doctor Kingsley Davis, who has been in the medical field since before you were born, will kill the patriarch with my treatment?! What an insult to my skills and personality!" Kingsley snapped and everyone glared at Benjamin.

They were put off and disinterested in anything else he had to say because they believed he was spouting nonsense. The only person who wanted to hear him talk more was Miss Anderson, but they didn't care about her either.

Before the rest could ignore Benjamin, Miss Anderson asked him "Why do you say the doctor's cure will kill our father?"

Kingsley, who felt insulted by the question, scoffed.

"You can't be taking that idiotic child seriously, can you-?" Kingsley said, but Benjamin cut him off.

"That's because one of the components of your drug's formula reacts adversely with the sickness the patriarch has, and it will lead to a reaction that will kill him in a matter of minutes!" Benjamin said.

"What nonsense?! How can an illiterate person like you know my drug's formula when it's patented, especially this new version which I haven't revealed to the world yet?!" Kingsley asked and Benjamin, who couldn't reveal how he knew, was silent.

"You see that?! Absolute rubbish and lies! This is a treatment I've given to a different patient with the same disease, and it worked perfectly, so what lies are you making up and telling everyone?!" Kingsley frowned, then he looked at Henry. "Please can someone get this child out of here before I leave in anger and let the patriarch succumb to his sickness?!"

The doctor was pissed off at Benjamin and the rest of the Foster family for letting him disrespect him like that. First Benjamin had said he was wrong about the diagnosis he made, and now he was accusing his cure of killing the patriarch if used.

"Don't worry doctor, I'll get rid of the bastard right now. Don't let this child come in the way of you helping our—" Henry said, but Benjamin cut him off.

"The reason your cure will do the opposite of the intended outcome and kill the patriarch is because you got the sickness wrong. It's not whistle-blight sickness but rather Eclipsia Ashen Syndrome! Using that drug on someone with Eclipsia Ashen Syndrome will kill them, so don't you dare do it!" Benjamin said, frowning at the doctor who was refusing to listen.

"You dare accuse me of getting the diagnosis wrong again?! That's it! I'm done here! I'm taking my leave and all of you can blame the patriarch's death on that lying bastard!" Kingsley said, then he turned to his briefcase and returned the vial of the miracle drug as well as the injection inside.

"Please Doctor Kingsley, don't go. You've come this far and have given us hope, so you can't leave like this", Elizabeth pleaded.

"No. You all stood there, watched that arrogant child insult me, and you still expect me to stay here? Never!" Kingsley said as he closed his briefcase and was about to leave, but Elizabeth did her best to try and stop him.

"This is your fault, Anderson! None of this would have happened if you hadn't brought that bastard here!" Henry yelled, then he looked at Kingsley and said "Don't go doctor. I'll double your payment, so please just carry on with the treatment."

"This is not a matter of money but respect. I've been disrespected, and I can't tolerate that! Not after everything I've accomplished," Kingsley said.

"Don't worry doctor, we'll teach that bastard a lesson for insulting you", Henry said, then he looked at the door and said, "Guards come here right now!"

A second later, some gigantic guards rushed into the room.

"Take that bastard out back and deal with him expeditiously", Henry instructed, and Benjamin's eyes widened.

"Understood, sir" the guards replied and walked towards Benjamin, who stepped back in fear.

"Move one more step, and you're all fired", Miss Anderson commanded, and the guards froze.

"Don't forget who pays your salary so don't move an inch closer to him!" Miss Anderson warned as Benjamin moved closer to her for protection.

"Anderson, you dare stop them?!" Henry glared at her.

"Yes, I do. If anyone has a problem with it then they should be ready to face my wrath too", Miss Anderson said, and everyone gritted their teeth.

They hated the fact that she had so much power over them and, wanting that power to be taken away, they would do anything for the patriarch to regain his health— thinking he would overturn his decision of keeping her in charge of everything when he was unavailable.

Desperate, Henry turned to Kingsley and said: "Doctor, I promise we'll punish that brat for disrespecting you, but our father needs to be healthy to do that, so please help us! I promise to also double your pay. Ten million is all yours if you cure our father right now", Henry pleaded.

"Don't you dare use that drug on my father!" Miss Anderson glared at the doctor.

Kingsley, who glared back and was disgusted she was on Benjamin's side instead of his, decided he was going to do the exact thing she didn't want.

"I understand, Mister Henry. You want your father back to good health so she loses her power and pride, huh? Well, allow me to help" Kingsley grinned.

He dropped his briefcase on the cupboard top and opened it.

"I said don't you dare use that thing on my father!" Miss Anderson exclaimed as she tried to approach the doctor.

However, Henry, who couldn't allow that, quickly blocked her path then he told the guards to do the same.

"You dare block my path? Do you want to be fired?" Miss Anderson threatened the guards.

Henry smirked.

"Your threats won't work any more, Anderson. Once the doctor is done, Dad will regain his health, then he will reverse the mistake he made of making you his successor and give the position to me after he finds out I'm the reason he got cured. Fire them now, and I'll only rehire them in the future", Henry grinned mischievously.

He then looked at one of the guards and told him to go get Benjamin, which the guard nodded and went to do.

"Are you ready doctor?" Henry asked Kingsley.

Kingsley, who had filled the injection with the drug, said "Yes, I am."

Benjamin, who should have been worried about his safety but was more concerned about the patriarch, looked at Kingsley and said "I told you that the drug won't work like you think, so don't do it!"

Kingsley sneered at him and said "If this doesn't work, then I'll destroy my medical license and cover my entire body in shit as I roam the streets naked. That's how confident I am, so shut the hell up."

Just then, the guard grabbed Benjamin and started pulling him away.

While Benjamin tried to resist, Kingsley injected the drug into the patriarch's IV fluid.

"No! What have you done?" Benjamin said defeatedly as he was at the door.

That was it. All his efforts to save Sebastian had failed, and now all that was left was for the drug to do what he had warned it would— overtake the patriarch's body and begin his inevitable death.
