Chapter 3

"All of a sudden?", Ravina asked her brother. "Actually, he also wasn't sure if he could make it or not until last night", her brother replied while taking Rishi's suitcase from his hand. "I didn't wanted to get bored with you girls". Ravina argued, "What do you mean? Do you think we all are boring?". "No, It's not like that, I just wanted a man to tag along", he answered while reaching towards the back side of the car. As he was about to open the trunk, I rushed forward trying to stop him. "Wait a... second", but it was too late. As he opened the trunk, a small carry bag fell out of it, right on his feet.

'Thank god, I place all the heavy suitcases in the inner side, or else he might have injured his foot'. As he looked at the trunk, he asked, "What's this, didn't I tell you to only pack what's necessary", he pointed his finger at the trunk which was overfilled with bags and suitcases. "Brother, Actually 'It's just the suitcase that is big, the stuff inside it is not much'", she said while giving me a glance. She was clearly mocking me. "But, these ARE necessary", I said with my cutest expression. I heard a light chuckle behind me, but didn't turn around to look. Brother Aryan just sighed and said, " well, the space inside the trunk isn't enough for the luggage of five people anyway". "Go and get the luggage carrier".

Ravina headed inside the house and brought a roof luggage carrier. He fixed it at the roof of the car and then tied Rishi's bag on top of it with belts. "If everything is packed, then let's drive off, otherwise it would be around midnight until we reach Goa", Aryan said. We all sat inside. Siya, Ravina and me on the back seat and Rishi sat on the passenger seat. Ravina, Sia and I were chatting non stop about all sorts of things. Aryan and Rishi was silent like two mature adults stuck with a bunch of kids.

Rishi was doing something on his phone while brother Aryan was focusing on the road ahead. I couldn't help but noticed that how mature he had gotten in just a single year. When he first got his car, and used to take us on long drives, he used to drive way faster. We also used to enjoy the speed. Although, he never took risk with our safety, but he wasn't the type to obey every single 'The speed limit ahead is 60' kinds of sign boards. The army does make one disciplined.

Around 2:00pm, we stopped our car in front of a restaurant near the toll plaza. we all three headed to the lady's rest room while Aryan went to order our lunch along with Rishi. All the cubicles inside the restroom were full. "God, I can't hold on for too long, why EVERYONE had to be here on the exact same day as us", Sia said. I chuckled as I saw her struggling to hold herself. As they both went inside the cubicle, I came outside of the restroom since it was getting a little stuffy there.

I went to the restaurant and spotted Rishi on one of the tables. I looked around to find Aryan but he wasn't there. So, I just went to the table and asked Rishi about him. "He went to the restroom", he replied while looking at his phone. I just pulled out a chair and sat down. "Have you ordered the food?", I asked and he just nodded in reply. He wasn't much talkative since childhood but now it seems like that he just ignores everyone around him. Fine, I am not dying for a conversation anyways

I was looking around as the waiter served the food on our table. Soon, Ravina, Sia and Aryan came back and joined us at the table and we started eating. After Lunch, we hoped back into the car and drove away from there. Ravina and Sia was fast asleep as soon as they got into the car. I was staring outside the window. Aryan and Rishi was chatting about some business related stuff. Rishi's father started a small company when he was young and over the years it has been doing great. Ravina's family business was originally into textile industry, but Rishi's father wanted to start his own business into estates. Being the youngest, his grandfather eventually agreed to it.

'Seems like he has already started managing his father's company ', I though as I looked at him from the rear view mirror. Suddenly, he looked at the mirror and I quickly turned my gaze away. 'He wouldn't have noticed. After all, the jerky and rapid eye movement is the fastest movement a human body could make, but in that same article I also read that our brain can make images of duration as shorter as 13 milliseconds', I thought because I could feel that he was still looking at me through the mirror. Before a shy grin could appear on my face, I turned my phone on and busied myself on instagram. Slowly, I also drifted to sleep.

I woke up because of a jerky movement. It has already turned dark outside and both Ravina and Sia were already awaken. My head was resting on Ravina's shoulder. I sat straight then Ravina asked me, "Your head isn't hurting is it?". "No. Why asked?" She just shook her head in 'No' and started chuckling. I just gave her a confused look. We stopped by at a restaurant for dinner. I excused myself and went to the washroom.

In there, when I was washing my hands, I unintentionally touched my head as I was tugging some of my hair strands behind my ear. There was a bit of swelling on my forehead. I looked at it in the mirror and touched the swollen area. Other than a slight pain, everything was alright. I remembered Ravina asked me if my head was hurt. I was thinking of asking her about it as I got out of the bathroom but eventually forgot later when I had dinner, as everyone was chatting and laughing.

After a couple of hours we reached at a hotel. All the rooms were full and we didn't had booking. Ravina argued with brother Aryan that he hadn't told her to book rooms before. Rishi came as a mediator and asked the receptionist if there were any suites available, to which she replied that right now there is only one suite available and asked if we would like to stay the night there. We all didn't have a choice as we had booked flights for the morning around 10:00am. Aryan also needed a rest as he'd been driving the entire day.

After getting into our room, everyone took shower. Since I'd already slept in the day, I wasn't sleepy so, I was the last one to take shower. I was sitting on the bed, waiting for the bathroom to get empty. After waiting for a while I went to the Bathroom's door and knocked, "Hey, are you planning to sleep in there, who the hell take so long inside the bathroom", I shouted from outside. When I didn't get any reply from Ravina, I decided to knock again. As I was about to knock, the door suddenly opened and in there wasn't Ravina. It was Rishi.
