BLOSSOMING DAYS

AVA'S POV

Pregnancy wasn't exactly what I thought it would be. It was more. More quiet. More tender. More overwhelming in ways I didn't expect.

I'd spent so much of my life preparing for everything except motherhood, and yet here I was, waking up to new rhythms, new cravings, and a heart that somehow had grown fuller overnight.

We were five days into the second trimester.

The nausea had settled down a little, thank goodness. My appetite came back with a vengeance, and so did the strange cravings.

Yesterday, I dipped French fries in almond butter and swore it was the most brilliant thing I'd ever tasted. Ethan nearly fainted when I offered him a bite.

He'd been amazing, though. Supportive in a quiet, consistent way that never made me feel fragile, just seen.
