Chapter 26: When Paths Cross Again
A Conference in London
It started with an email.
> Behavioral Psychology World Forum — London, June.

"You two are going," she ordered. "No arguments. No hiding."

London Arrival — Daisy
The city was alive in ways Nairobi never was—cold air, fast footsteps, unspoken chaos. Daisy stepped into her hotel, heart pounding louder than her suitcase wheels.

London Arrival — Calvin
He'd arrived early. Booked the suite. Waited.
And when Daisy opened the door, everything fell quiet. No rush. No declarations.
She dropped her bag and stepped into his arms, like she belonged there.

The Night Before
They didn't talk about their work. Not yet.
Instead, they walked along the Thames. He bought her roasted chestnuts from a street cart. She laughed at how bad they tasted.
Then, in the middle of the bridge, she looked at him.
"You changed," she said softly.
"You too."
"But we didn't lose each other."
He smiled. "No. We just found more of ourselves."
