Episode 7: Brothers in Shadow 🌒 Scene 1 — The Quiet Watcher
The estate was calm again. No more strange attacks. No more spectral intrusions.
But Kael Vaelcrest, the eldest brother, wasn't convinced.
He stood beneath the estate's moonlit balcony, dressed in ceremonial black — not for mourning, but for watching.
"That boy from the garden wasn't just a rogue construct… He dissolved into elemental code. Someone is scripting against us."
Kael was a prodigy in Perception and Binding Elements, his senses razor sharp. And lately, they kept pulling him to his youngest sibling.
To Elara.
🌠 Scene 2 — Strange Patterns
Over the past two weeks, Kael had logged every irregularity:
The sword that responded to no elemental pressure… except hers.
The abandoned faction car, now purring cleaner than his own upgraded steed.
The estate's node crystals, subtly realigned. More efficient, but no one confessed.
"She's… fixing things. But with what knowledge?"
He remembered the moment she awakened: 19 elements, and that strange pause in the air right before her body was bathed in white-gold light. Something unseen had happened.
🧠 Scene 3 — Elara's Experiment
Meanwhile, Elara worked in one of the underground vaults she'd repurposed into a mini-lab.
Using her Appraisal Lens, she examined fragments of Obsidian Ghost Crystal and Sky-Flame Ore. They were used in elite airships—but horribly inefficient by modern standards.
"Their matrices are fighting each other," she murmured. "If I balance the lattice angle by 6.8 degrees and thread Element Zero particles between layers…"
A quiet hum answered her thought.
Her hand moved in fine patterns—atomic-level crafting. The ore began to glow steadily. Stable.
She had just created an Element-Stabilized Core. Something only theorized in the current age of the empire.
🚶♂️ Scene 4 — Confrontation in the Vault
Kael entered silently, watching her work. She didn't notice him until she paused to stretch.
"You're using techniques that don't exist," Kael said without accusation.
Elara tensed… but didn't deny it.
"I'm using what works," she replied. "The world's too slow. Too clumsy. It can be better."
Kael stepped forward. His expression unreadable.
"You're not just powerful, Elara. You're different. You move like a tactician. A builder. A scholar. A soldier."
Elara looked away.
"I'm just trying to help."
"I believe you." He knelt beside the glowing ore. "But others won't."
He gently placed a Binding Seal Sigil near the bench.
"This room is now hidden. From everyone. Including grandfather."
🤝 Scene 5 — A Silent Pact
Kael didn't ask questions. He didn't pry into her secrets.
He simply said:
"If you're going to change the world… then you'll need a shield."
He drew his blade and laid it across his knees in oath.
"I'll be that shield. So will our brothers. Even if we don't understand you—we are yours."
Elara didn't cry. But she felt a warmth spark in her chest.
She had family.
And now she had trust.
