05. New Mission and New Possibilities

After the modification, Henry emerged from the dark space of Tori's subconscious. He had a smile on his face.

He knew that he could now run at incredible speeds and maintain superhuman stamina. Exactly what he needed to face battles against the Kelzaks and any other dangerous monsters that might appear.

And something very important, now he could impress Tori even more with his impressive stamina.

Opening his eyes, Henry looked around the modest room and a new system notification appeared.

[Mission: Growing Threat — Tori Hanson

Objective: Defeat a group of Kelzaks as the Moon Ranger. Tori must witness your strength.

Reward: Small permanent increase in detail in future modifications.]

"Finally something that allows me to improve my control over memories."

Henry muttered happily, smiling as he looked at the bracelet on his wrist.

That afternoon, Henry walked to the beach where Tori usually surfs. It was a peaceful place, but that tranquility didn't last long.

A group of Kelzaks appeared out of nowhere, attacking tourists and causing chaos on the beach.

Henry ran behind a rock and touched his bracelet. He soon transformed into a ranger morpher and he touched the coin in the center of the morpher.

"Morph!"

With a quick movement, he activated the transformation. Black lightning surrounded his body, the energy of his soul went to the surface of his body, covering him entirely.

He jumped out of the shadows and ran towards the monsters with superhuman speed. The world around him seemed to slow down.

One of the Kelzaks turned to attack him, but before he could raise his weapon, Henry was already behind him, cutting him in half with a quick swing of his ninja sword.

Tori, who was a few meters away, practically froze when she saw that mysterious figure again. It was the Moon Ranger.

"It's him again!"

She murmured, watching him take down one Kelzak after another with perfect movements.

"How does he do that? It's like time has stopped for him!"

Soon, all the monsters were defeated. Henry put away his sword, took a deep breath and looked at Tori, who was quickly approaching.

She had already morphed and was already in her blue ranger uniform.

"Who are you?"

Tori asked doubtfully, she always thought there were only three rangers, her and her two friends, Shane and Dustin.

Henry hesitated for a moment, but decided not to reveal his identity yet, but one name needs to be left.

"I'm someone who protects this world... The Moon Ranger."

Before she could ask anything else, he simply disappeared in a black blur, leaving her speechless at his speed.

Back in his room, Henry lay down on his bed and closed his eyes. He had already taken off his ranger uniform.

"Mission accomplished, time to use the reward, too bad there's no chance to modify the memory."

[Mission completed... Reward successfully distributed.

"So I was right... The brain doesn't allow for much extra detail, but from what I understand, the system has a way to bypass this block slightly."

Henry smiled, but his smile faded as he got up from the bed and tapped his little finger on the table next to him.

"I need to move... The next modification should be to become rich, I can't live in this place anymore."

[New mission unlocked: Defeat the Glass Monster

Objective: The Glass Monster is the first monster in this alternate world, the rangers are not prepared. Defeat the Glass Monster and save the rangers.

Reward: Modify 1 memory of any target + Modify 1 memory of Tori Hanson]

"First monster? This is getting serious, it seems like this world is going to get more dangerous as time goes on."

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Kira Ford, the new character created by the system, woke up in her newly created apartment within this alternate Power Rangers world.

She looked at her reflection in the mirror and touched her necklace with a small musical note engraved on it.
