Leveling up to level 15

Hearing Kai's harsh yet true words, the girl realized that she hadn't even thanked Kai for saving her life before.

"I-I'm really sorry, my mind was filled with my little sister's unknown situation at home that I even forgot to say thanks." The girl suddenly dropped on her knees and cried softly, letting out her thoughts.

"Thanks for saving my life, and I'm really sorry about my rudeness just now. I really didn't mean anything rude to you."

"But please at least take me with you as far as I can. I promise I won't become a burden to you!"

"I don't know what to do anymore since I'm powerless right now, so I can only shamelessly beg you to let me follow you for a while."

"I will pay for anything, so—"

Before the girl could talk further, Kai interrupted her as he sighed deeply and closed his eyes for a second.

Sigh!

"Stand up and just follow me if you want, but I wouldn't really care about you since I also have my own priority." 

The girl immediately stood up straight and wiped her tears and thanked Kai genuinely as she bowed at him deeply before running, catching up with him.

"Thank you, brother Kai." Nana clutched her hands at Kai's clothes and smiled at him, as she thought that her brother listened to her request by letting her follow them.

Kai smiled and pinched her nose softly as he shook his head helplessly.

At first he didn't want to help her since he genuinely didn't care about her, as his priority at the moment was to get back home.

However, when he heard that she also had a little sister and genuinely wanted to get back, he suddenly remembered his 'previous self,' where he could only helplessly watch his family's dead bodies before his eyes and couldn't even have the chance to protect them.

That's why he wanted to give her a chance to at least let her try to go on her own way and save her little sister later on. As for whether she would be able to save her or not, it was not his concern since he didn't even have the time to think about the others.

"Big brother, what's that little skeleton?" Nana asked, looking at Kai's first undead goblin that was walking in front as if it had become their bodyguard.

"Oh… That little guy? It's my first subordinate that should also be the most important one, even though it's still weak right now." Kai petted Nana's head softly as he thought that his first undead goblin should've been his most precious subordinate since it was bound to the undead space, unlike the others.

"Can it even fight? It looks so fragile and doesn't seem to be scary at all." Nana asked cutely as she put her fingers on her chin, scanning the little goblin from head to toe.

"Of course, otherwise why would I make it become my subordinate?" Kai chuckled and suddenly looked ahead when he heard the system notifications that he had been waiting for.

Kai was happy when he looked at the new notifications, as he thought that he had leveled up once again.

When he killed the two goblin captains before, he had received the notifications and knew that he had leveled up to level 14. He even acquired quite a few stats from killing these two. 

Unfortunately, he didn't get any more stats after his subordinates killed the last undead goblin captain.

"Brother Kai, why are you suddenly happy?" Nana was puzzled when she saw that his brother was smiling weirdly all of a sudden.

"Hmm? Nothing, I just became a little bit stronger, that's all." Kai raised an eyebrow and waved his hand with a smile.

The moment they got out of the alley, Nana widened her eyes when she saw a lot of skeletons, and there were even three huge skeletons walking in their direction, with one of them dragging a big dead body.

"Don't worry, those skeletons are also my subordinates, including the big ones." Kai smiled and patted his little sister's head, reassuring her in case she would be scared when she looked at the undead Goblin Captains approaching them.

"Wow… Brother Kai, you have a lot of subordinates." Nana's eyes were gleaming with stars, thinking that his brother was really cool to have a lot of subordinates.

"Of course, your brother is really strong, you know?" Kai showed a smug expression, trying to impress his little sister so that she would feel completely safe since her brother was super strong.

"Hehehe, brother Kai is the best." Nana giggled and praised her brother, knowing that her brother should be waiting for her compliment.

In response, Kai pinched her cheek as he couldn't help looking at her cuteness.

He then used his [Resurrection of the Dead] skill on the last undead Goblin Captain when he noticed that the undead Goblin Captains had arrived in front of him.

While he was at it, he tilted his head and looked at the girl behind him and asked. "What's your name?"

"Vanya." The girl answered timidly with an awkward, forced smile.

Kai nodded his head before introducing himself and the little girl in his arms with a smile. "You can call me Kai, and she is my little sister, Nana."
