Chapter 6 - Attack, Mana Potion 2

After I was done admiring the scenery, I turned around, and began looking for medical herbs. I started walking to the exact spot where Wisdom pinpointed the medicinal herbs location.

There are many medicinal herbs that grow in the world. Some can be used for heeling potions, while others can be used for making poison. The medical herbs that I was looking for had several properties. Such as, heeling affects, mana increase, all kinds of illnesses could be healed, even regenerative properties. People used it for only increasing their mana, and never truly uncovered it's true value. At this point, I finally realized how truly incredible Wisdom truly was. It had never seen that medicinal herb, but already knew all of it's secrets.

It never had a name of it's own, because people only saw it as just another medicinal herb whose only purpose was to help the Scythes increase their mana levels. So it was just another one of many medicinal herbs.

It was green, like any other leaf. It could not be differentiated between a normal leaf. It had the same shape, same color, and same smell, so I would've had a hard time finding exactly where it grew. However, I had Wisdom, and Wisdom was guiding me the entire time.

After going deep in the Sunny Mountain, Wisdom spoke,

[ Take ten more steps, and look at the ground on your left, it is by that tree ]

Wisdom said, pointing me towards a large tree. It was an old tree which didn't look that much old. I looked up at the tree, and was amazed by it's size. It was 80 meters tall, standing at an impressive height. The change in the world after the Nebulous incident caused the tree to grow so rapidly, and the plants, and leaves grew magical properties. The entire ecosystem of the world was changed after the Nebulous incident.

After looking at the tree, I looked down at the plants, and leaves that grew around the tree. I crouched down, and began plucking the medicinal herbs.

As I was busy plucking the medicinal herb, and not paying attention to my surroundings, a 5 feet long white snake with red eyes launched itself from the same tree with it's mouth wide open, and it's fangs aimed towards me. I sensed the sudden burst of bloodlust, and quickly moved away from my position, leaving the snake to fall on the ground in the process. How quickly I make out of the way, and how fast I was completely surprised me. Then, I suddenly remembered Wisdom's words about how It told me that I was "five times stronger than my previous self" right now. The words of Wisdom comforted me, because if this was my previous self, he would've already been poisoned by the snake, and would've died here. However, this was not my weak, and pathetic self, but a completely new me. And I was not going to let a mere snake be the end of me. Even if it's any animal, human, no matter the size, I was not going to let it get in my way.

After I made some distance between us, I curled my hands into fists, and quickly took a boxing stance. As a kid, I used to watch boxing matches, so I knew a thing or two about boxing, but boxing was not going to work against a snake, or at least I thought it wouldn't.

The snake launched itself towards me once again, but I dodged it, and moved to the right. Now the snake was going to land straight on the ground once again. But, to my absolute shock, it grabbed my right arm by it's tail. It attacked right on my face, as if trying to take a bite out of it, but with my now great reflexes, I grabbed it by it's neck, making it unable to move any further. It's grip on my right arm got tight as I grabbed it by it's neck. It's grip got tighter, and tighter. I could feel the blood circulation in my right hand slowly stopping.

[ Master, this snake is valuable, you must kill it now ]

"Valuable? How?"

I asked, questioning the snake's value.

[ It's Blood, we must have it ]

"I don't understand why, but okay. Let's take it."

I said, agreeing to Wisdom's words.

I then grabbed the other half of it's body, and pulled my hands on opposite sides with all my strength, severing the snake's head in the process. Blood started spilling out of it's severed head, and neck. And I made sure that none would spill on me.

"What do I do now?"

I asked, questioning while holding it's body, and head.

[ Put it on your shadow ]

I didn't understand what was going to happen, but I complied.

The head, and the body got completely swallowed as soon as I put it on my shadow. And as soon as it was swallowed, I felt shivers, goosebumps. I was completely shocked by what happened.

"Hey! What was that?!"

I asked, and had a surprised expression. If it didn't happen in front of my eyes, I wouldn't have believed it.

[ Bottomless Shadow ]

[ It would have been hard for you to carry the dead body, and head of a snake in town ]

[ So I thought it would be convenient to have a space in which you could store things, also making it unable for others so see ]

"Okay! But I don't remember having a skill like that?!"

I said, with an even more surprised expression after hearing Wisdom's explanation.

[ I just made it ]

"I don't know what to say. I'm out of words!"

I said, and just accepted it, and thought,

Now Wisdom's going to say "I am Wisdom".

[ Do not worry, because I am Wisdom ]

I didn't know what to say, so I just made a joke out of it. And as expected, Wisdom said exactly what I thought.

"Yeah, yeah. I know you're the almighty, all knowing Wisdom."

I said, with a sigh of acceptance.

"Well, let's move on to Crystallized Mana now."

I said, with another sigh.

[ The Crystallized Mana should be… ]

Wisdom began locating Crystallized Mana after I had collected the appropriate amount of medicinal herbs.

[ There is none ]

"What? What do you mean "there is none"?"

I asked, and questioned Wisdom.

[ I can sense the Crystallized Mana, but it has already been harvested ]

"You mean…

I said, and didn't finish what I was about to say.

[ Yes ]

[ It seems someone has already gathered them before us ]

"What do we do now? If we can't get the Crystallized Mana, then we can't make mana potions!"

I said, with an expression of worry.

[ Let me see ]

Wisdom began searching for something.

[ Yes ]

[ This seems about right ]

"What seems about right?"

I asked.

[ It was a little difficult, but I have located another source of Crystallized Mana, let us go there ]

"What? Already?"

I asked, questioning if Wisdom had already located in such a short amount of time.

[ Yes ]
