He hit the 10-pull button with the 20% discount…

Ten streaks of light shot across the sky in the VR world. Nine of them were white, and only one was a purple streak.

The chat lit up:

[Whoa!]

[That summoning animation is sick!]

[The purple one is definitely the 4-star card. Only got one in the first 10-pull. Wonder if it's a character or a skill.]

[This newbie banner guarantees either 'Shinji Koganei' or 'Wide-Range Shot.' No idea what their stats or abilities are, or if they're "sci-fi" enough.]

[Guys, don't get your hopes too high. It's just a 4-star card. Don't expect it to be on Aomine Daiki's level.]

Zzzt~

The first card of the 10-pull appeared. It was a 3-star card: 'Training Manual.'

Donnie examined the Training Manual and explained to his viewers, "This is a card used in the 'Training' system. You can use it to improve the stats of our main character, 'Ethan Woods,' by doing specific training exercises. Each training session consumes a certain number of 'Training Manuals.'"

"Looks like even if you don't spend money on pulls in this game, you can still make our protagonist 'Ethan Woods' stronger through training…"

"Tsk, what was this developer thinking…? How is this game supposed to make money?"

Donnie shook his head and continued looking at the Wish interface. As a series of 3-star cards appeared, he started clicking through them faster.

3-Star Card: 'Training Manual.'

3-Star Card: 'Generic Skill Book.'

3-Star Card: 'Training Manual.'

3-Star Card: 'Generic Skill Book.'

3-Star Card: 'Training Manual.'

3-Star Card: 'Advanced Skill Book.'

3-Star Card: 'Fancy Move Fragment.'

Zzzt~

On the 9th pull of the 10-summon, a different animation finally played.

A dynamic portrait of a character was displayed in the Wish system, appearing before Donnie and his viewers.

4-Star Character Card.

Shinji Koganei (Seirin High).

In his animated portrait, he wore the Seirin #6 jersey, smoothly catching and shooting the ball from various positions with standard form.

[There it is! The first character card, and it's a high school version!]

[He doesn't look weak. Judging by the art style, he seems like a character who excels at shooting.]

['Wide-Range Shot (Shinji Koganei)' is obviously his signature skill. Wonder if we can pull that too.]

[This dev is a bit sneaky, splitting a character into a 'Character Card' and a 'Skill Card.' The character card just gives stats, and the skill card gives abilities. That's like an extra way to make us spend.]

[Well, it's a free-to-play game. The developer has to eat too. But I seriously doubt the money they invested in developing this game can be recouped through this Wish system alone.]

Zzzt~

The 10th pull…

4-Star Skill Card.

Wide-Range Shot (Shinji Koganei).

Donnie blinked.

"Guys, is my luck pretty good or what?"

"Two 4-stars in one 10-pull!"

"Character card plus skill card! Got the whole Shinji Koganei set in one go!"

"Hold on, I'm doing another 10-pull!"

He slammed down the currency for the second 10-pull.

This time, Donnie impatiently chose to skip the animation and go straight to the results.

He immediately scanned for purple cards.

"Woohoo~"

"Double purple again!"

"Aw, man, it's a duplicate character card."

"Two Shinji Koganeis."

"Duplicate cards should be useful for something, right?"

Donnie immediately opened the Character system to check the card details.

However, one look and Donnie froze…

[Character: Ethan Woods (Middle School - First Year)]

[Height: 5'10"]

[Weight: 143 lbs]

[Mid-Range Shot: 155]

[Three-Pointer: 100]

[Under-Basket Shot: 90]

[Layup/Dunk: 120]

[Rebounding: 80]

[Physicality: 80]

[Steal: 100]

[Ball Handling: 120]

[Stamina: 107]

[Passing: 107]

[Speed: 150]

[Character: Shinji Koganei (Seirin High - First Year)]

[Height: 5'7"]

[Weight: 148 lbs]

[Mid-Range Shot: 120]

[Three-Pointer: 90]

[Under-Basket Shot: 60]

[Layup/Dunk: 100]

[Rebounding: 60]

[Physicality: 60]

[Steal: 90]

[Ball Handling: 90]

[Stamina: 110]

[Passing: 110]

[Speed: 110]

The chat erupted:

[LMAO~]

[This Koganei guy… how are his first-year high school stats worse than the protagonist's first-year middle school stats?~]

[That's not true! His Passing and Stamina are clearly 3 points higher than the protagonist's!]

[A high schooler worse than a middle schooler?]

Donnie carefully compared Ethan Woods' stats with Koganei's and found that, indeed, all of the protagonist's stats were higher than Koganei's, except for Passing and Stamina…

This was awkward.

The Character system allowed the player to equip 4 additional character cards besides the main character, Ethan Woods. The relevant basketball stats would then take the maximum value from among these equipped cards.

In other words, equipping Koganei would only increase his Passing and Stamina by 3 points.

Pretty useless…

Donnie, speechless, clicked on the prominent red exclamation mark on the character card.

"Constellations?"

"Consume an identical character card to unlock this character's Constellation…"

Donnie checked. Koganei only had two Constellation levels, which he could unlock perfectly with his two extra duplicate cards.

[Character: Shinji Koganei (Seirin High - Third Year)]

[Mid-Range Shot: 180]

[Three-Pointer: 150]

[Under-Basket Shot: 90]

[Layup/Dunk: 120]

[Rebounding: 80]

[Physicality: 80]

[Steal: 120]

[Ball Handling: 120]

[Stamina: 150]

[Passing: 150]

[Speed: 150]

"Holy crap! Third-year Koganei is way better than his first-year version!"

"Several of these stats are a huge upgrade for me right now."

"Ayyy~ Nice, nice! Feeling good now!"

"So the real core of this game is all in the Constellations!"
