The Threat

Alaric glared at the yellow screen and shouted, "Why the hell has this ridiculous training turned into a daily quest now?!"

"Did the system ever interact with Alaric like this in my novel?" Alaric wondered, his brows furrowing in confusion.

Alaric searches through his library to find a map of the territory

"Now, if I remember correctly, the iron mine would be discovered in the distant future near the Lake of Ashworth, where its water flows from the mountain ridges in the corner of the Ashworth territory."

Sighing and taking a deep breath, "I need manpower." A bulb lit up above his head. "Idea!"

He runs to his father's study room "Father, Father, I need your help."

Frederick looked up, clearly exhausted." What do you need, son ? If it is money, I can't provide you with any funds".

Alaric smiled confidently. "I can change our current lifestyle—if you can just provide me with some manpower.".

Frederick raised an eyebrow. "Son, I don't have time for your jokes. Why do you need manpower?"

"There is an iron mine near the lake of our territory, If we can just sell high-quality iron, we can change our lifestyle for real."

"He's unusually confident."

"Okay, but I will also follow you. "Frederick doubtly.

The next day, Young men gathered in front of the household not for money but for the patriarch's request.

Frederick said, "Thank you all for answering my son's request and gathering here today."

An old man in the crowd stepped forward, voice steady with gratitude.

"No, Lord Frederick. We're the ones who should be thankful for all your hard work and for feeding our families when times were hard."

"I don't want this title."

Alaric stepped forward, clearing his throat with deliberate flair. "I can understand you," he said, pausing just long enough to wink with one eye.

A murmur rippled through the crowd.

"What?" someone whispered, puzzled by his odd introduction.

Alaric raised his voice, his tone sharp and passionate.

"I understand your pain, your suffering. The endless toil under the sun, only to be repaid with barley, barely enough to feed your families, let alone earn a single copper worthy of your sweat and sacrifice!"

"Thank you for gathering by respecting my father for my sake. Don't worry, I will make it into something, something that changes our territory's life, your lives permanently." A spark in Alaric's eyes shone, unwavering.

Moved by Alaric's conviction.

The crowd fell into an emotional hush. Then, one after another, they shouted, voices raw and honest, laying bare the thoughts they had long kept hidden.

"I thought you were just a pathetic recluse who didn't care about this territory… being Lord Frederick's son and all," one villager cried, tears streaming down his face.

"I cursed your name when I got your notice," another admitted, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "Thought it was a waste of time…"

"I always thought you were useless… too aloof to care about us," a third added, sniffling.

"They are expressing their thoughts uninhibitedly," Alaric amused by their brutal honesty.

"Sir Alaric, " one stood proudly, "we are ready to follow you even to the depths of hell willingly."

Alaric smirked with an evil smile as the shadows curled on his expression, "Mission success," eyes full of mischief.

Alaric smiled, standing tall.

"Thank you, Father. With the iron from this mine, we can finally solve our financial struggles."

"I'm proud of you, my son," he said, placing a firm yet gentle hand on Alaric's head before slowly walking away toward the crowd.

Memories of his past life flashed before his eyes.

"I will always be proud of you, my son."

Alaric's eyes welled with emotion.

"Damn memories," he muttered while wiping his tears off.

While the young crowd was celebrating the discovery of Iron ore.

Lord Frederick, "Listen, everyone, let's build the iron mine here this week.

Later that evening,

Daisy looked at her brother warily and said, "Brother, you've changed."

Alaric replied, "Yeah, I think I grew a little taller."

"Not that," Daisy pouted. "Before, you were dumber. Now everyone respects you."

"Don't you like me?" Alaric teased.

Little Daisy smiled shyly. "I like you better now. You're cool, Brother." As she left

"I see." Alaric in calmness

"Alaric, follow me. I want to talk to you about something," Lord Frederick called him into the study room.

"Yes, Father. What do you want to talk about?" Alaric asked.

"Alaric, you've given us new hope with the discovery of iron in our territory," Frederick began seriously, "but we have a problem."

Frederick hands a letter from Baron Cassian Metthound to Alaric

"It's a letter from Baron Cassian. He demands that we hand over the area containing the iron deposits to him, or else he'll wage war against us."

Alaric smiled calmly, "Father, leave it to me. I'll take care of it."

Frederick worried, "But son, how will you take care of something like this ?"

"I have my ways, Father. Don't worry. I'll deal with Baron Cassian, and when I do, he'll regret ever thinking he could threaten us."
